CSS - Align Text With Post Images [wordpress]
Hey guys, what I'm trying to do seems simple but I can't seem to figure it out. I have a wordpress blog and am formatting the text, I've used line-height, line-spacing and letter-spacing because I want to make it readable. Now what I'm trying to do is align the width of the paragraphs to the images or at least to the widge of the post container which is 585px. I changed the width to 585px and it that didn't help. My site is (havenhart[dot]com) and as an example, see (oneaboveone[dot]com) that site has the text aligned to the image, or atleast te container width. Can anyone offer any resources on how to do this?
Thanks. Similar TutorialsI would like the align text next to the image and have it flow from the top down. Not adjacent then underneath it. HTML Source CSS Source Once you view the html file, I think you get a better picture of what I'm talking about. Code: http://www.blametruthproject.com/home Hey CSS gods So I need some help with my dropdown menus, they are currently going behind the content on my posts in my blog, I think this could be fixed with CSS but I guess you guys could tell me that. Thanks, Neil. Hello guys, I have beginner CSS experience. I am using a free wordpress theme. I have begun to modify the theme and have run into a problem. I have checked all over the web for resources to resolve this issue to no avail. I have used the CSS Validator and received some errors nothing that affects this. ISSUE: When clicking "Read More" the image appears twice, once as the limited size and once as the full size. I would like only the first image to appear not the full size one too. SITE: havenhart[dot] com Any help would be super. Sorry to ask but I cannnnnnot find this answer. I know it can be done too... Ok, I have a wordpress site and every time I add in custom CSS with a "background-image" TAG It works locally but not when I plug it to the live site. The graphics are a navigation bar thats it... here is the code Code: @charset "utf-8"; /* CSS Document */ a span { display: none; } #container #nav { background-image: url(../images/nav.png); height: 30px; width: 926px; margin-left: 100px; } #container #nav li { float: left; list-style-type: none; } a.main_nav { display: block; height: 30px; z-index: 1; } a.main_nav:hover { background-position: 0px -30px; } #nav_1 { background-image: url(DIRECT WEB LOCATION OF IMAGE); width: 133px; float: left; padding-left: 5px; background-repeat:no-repeat; } #nav_2 { background-image: url(DIRECT WEB LOCATION OF IMAGE); width: 182px; float: left; padding-left: 10px; background-repeat:no-repeat; } #nav_3 { background-image: url(DIRECT WEB LOCATION OF IMAGE); width: 160px; float: left; padding-left: 5px; background-repeat:no-repeat; } #nav_4 { background-image: url(DIRECT WEB LOCATION OF IMAGE); width: 148px; float: left; padding-left: 5px; background-repeat:no-repeat; } #nav_5 { background-image: url(DIRECT WEB LOCATION OF IMAGE); width: 115px; float: left; padding-left: 5px; background-repeat:no-repeat; } #nav_6 { background-image: url(DIRECT WEB LOCATION OF IMAGE); width: 122px; float: left; padding-left: 5px; background-repeat:no-repeat; } #nav_7 { background-image: url(DIRECT WEB LOCATION OF IMAGE); width: 122px; float: left; padding-left: 5px; background-repeat:no-repeat; } and my HTML Code: <div id="nav"> <a href="" class="main_nav" id="nav_1"><span>button</span></a> <a href="" class="main_nav" id="nav_2"><span>button</span> </a> <a href="" class="main_nav" id="nav_3"><span>button</span> </a> <a href="" class="main_nav" id="nav_4"><span>button</span> </a> <a href="" class="main_nav" id="nav_5"><span>button</span> </a> <a href="" class="main_nav" id="nav_6"><span>button</span> </a> <a href="" class="main_nav" id="nav_7"><span>button</span> </a> <div class="clear"></div> </div> if anyone can help me understand why this does not work in WP that would be most gracious of you -Jordan I know a lot of people have made posts about vertical aligning but nearly all were involving text. I'm trying to vertically align a small image, but every time i do it within the img tag it screws up the adjacent text on IE and only IE. I know it has to do with how vertical align is supposed to be used, specific blocks or inline or something. How would I go about vertically aligning that small arrow image on the top properly. http://chics.onivertneb.com/align.htm I need to align 3 images in one column and I do not know what attributes should I use for it. I can use it in html as a table, but how in css? Thank you OK, I have three images: a top, middle, and bottom that need to align vertically. It should look like a typewriter with paper coming out when said and done. You can see what's wrong at csshore(dot)com Here is the css: #top { background:url(images/top.gif) no-repeat; background-position:50%; width: 617px; float:none; margin:0 auto; height: 55px; position: relative; } #container { background:url(images/middle.gif) repeat-y; background-position:center; width: 601px; padding:0; margin:0 auto; height: 100%; position: relative; min-height:600px; } #bottom { background:url(images/bottom.gif) no-repeat; background-position:50%; width: 800px; height:485px; margin:0 auto; position: relative; } .center { background-image:url(images/wood014.jpg); } And the html: <div id="top" class="center"></div> <div id="container" class="center">When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for a people to through off the reigns of governement and create a new one. </div> <div id="bottom" class="center"></div> Ignore the failed attempt to quote the Declaration of Independence. I have tried everything I know (which admittedly is little) and I can't get them to align. Thanks in advance. I've been having problems trying to vertically align an image within a div. I'm trying to align it to the bottom of the div. CSS as follows: #col1r1 { float: left; height: 40%; width: 33%; display: inline; text-align: right; } div#col1r1 div#image { bottom: 66%; left: 60%; color: black; vertical-align: bottom; } div#col1r1 div img.pagegr { width: 60%; } HTML: <div id="col1r1"> <div id="image"><img class="pagegr" src="images/blah.gif" alt=""></div> </div> Unfortunately this code will be appearing on multiple pages with a different image on each page - some portrait, some landscape, and of varying sizes - otherwise, I would have added some blank space to the top of image itself to make it fit and sit nicely aligned with the bottom of the box. I'd really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance. In the main page here, there look to be 2 columns. How can I align all the smaller images with the bottom of the big image? Sometimes there are 3 photos, sometimes there are 6. At the moment it looks like it is all in divs. Is there a way to do it in CSS with the current code. The HTML looks a bit messy: http://www.truly organic foods.com/cashew-cacao-cluster-275g.php I have a div with blue background on the page below. It is is currently displaying horitzontally across the screen, with the images inside doing the same. I would like to vertically align it along the right side of the page, next to the text (which would be on the left). I'd also like the 'Property Search' within the blue, aligned below the photo of the house. Can anyone help me out? I'd like to KNOW how to do it and not have someone just send me an updated style sheet. Thanks. Styles attached. http://mulqueenconsulting.com/galese/ On this page: http://www.artquestbeauty.com/css/facials.html, the images appear just the way I want them to. On this page: http://www.artquestbeauty.com/css/skintreatments.html the image of the girl in the orange dress is pushed way down in the div, though I inserted it right next to the "Back Facial" heading. I have a lot of "sandbag" divs that wrap the text around the background image and around the leftimage div. I was thinking this was the problem, but since it works fine on other pages, I'm back to square one. Can anyone see what I'm missing? I've tried numerous combinations but I can't seem to get it to work correctly. CSS Code: Original - CSS Code div.chatlayer { position: absolute; top: -50px; left: 50px; border: 1px solid black; -moz-border-radius: 10px; padding: 5px; background-color: white; min-width: 100px; width: auto; text-align: center; visibility: hidden; } div.chatlayer { currently i have the following CSS Code: ul#key { list-style-type: none; padding: 10px; } ul#key li { display: inline; } however, some of the list items are small 50x50 images accompanied by text but the text is getting aligned to the bottom of the image rather than half way up. Ive tried using text-align: middle but that doesnt work? How exactly can i vertically align text in css, i can't seem to find an easy way to do it, i basically want my text to be in the middle of a divs height, so much easier in tables heh. Tried padding but that then adds to the height, making it pointless for this use |
