Anyone plz help me?????????????? Thx in advance............ Similar Tutorialshttp://tinyurl.com/5llwfl I'm having some problems with this page in particular. Try clicking on one of the Left or Right white image arrows below the main picture. This only occurs in Firefox 2.x. Once you click the link, the content area below "Starting from $278.497" should shift roughly 5 pixels down. I thought it may be related to the dotted link outline that surrounds the image, but that was not the case. I applied styles to get rid of that and there was no changes. I also thought it may be related to a position:relative; bug which this site has been notorious for. I tried making certain divs in that area position:relative to no avail. So to test further I tried an overall #content *{position:relative;} fix which could not fix the position shift, either. I'm not sure what else it could be. And while I do have access to the build of this app, I have not been able to reproduce the issue by downloading all HTML, CSS, and image files locally. Hello Is there a way i can restore my <a href> link back to its original color, that is before the a:visited event, when I click on another link? PS. no Javascript code needed, is their an alternative in css? PROBLEM: I create a nice button using the sliding doors technique for rounded corners. But the button displays with 100% width unless I float it. My layout requires that the buttons be inline with the text, so floating won't work. Anyone know an alternative? I wouldn't mind floating but I want the button to show inline with the text. When I use float:left, it removes it from the inline flow. Basically, I want a very modular button that can be used in several different places on a page. In many cases, floating is fine because the mockup has it out of the inline text, but I want to use it there, too. Here's the HTML: <a class="button" href="#"><span>Update Profile</span></a> Here's the css: a.button:link, a.button:visited { background:url(button_right.gif) no-repeat right top; } a.button span:hover, a.button span:active { background:url(button_left_hover.gif) no-repeat right top; } a.button span { background:url(button_left.gif) no-repeat left top; color:#fff; cursorointer; display:block; height:20px; line-height:20px; margin:0 2px 0 0; padding:0 10px; position:relative; white-space:nowrap; } For some odd reason, the link in one of my DIVS is inaccessible. It's styled as a link, so I know it's being recognized, but mouse-over does nothing, and it won't respond to a click. I've tried to bring the DIV to the front via z-index, but no help. The pile of code is below, but the DIV I'm needing help with is "frontcontentbox". In the left column I have a form which takes input and relays it to another php script which either populates another form or produces output. I would like to control where the output of each form is displayed. With frames I just use the target command. Some of the output will be in the same div as the original form (if the output is a form) or in the middle column if it is an output of results. I have been told that javascript would accomplish this. Any thoughts? Thanks, R Haynes I want to have the functionality of this page
Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>Bug Tracker | View All Active Bugs</title> <script type="text/javascript"> function toggleCard(card) { var o = document.getElementById(card); o.style.display=(o.style.display == "none")?"block":"none"; } </script> <style type="text/css"> h2 { border: 1px 0 0 0 solid #000; background-color: #eee; margin: 0px; padding: 2px 2px 2px 15px; font-size: 1.0em; } p { margin: 2px; padding: 0px; } </style> <script src="inc/js/sorttable.js"></script> </head> <body> <h2 id="head1" onclick="toggleCard('card1')">Click Me</h2> <div id="card1" style="border: 1px solid #000; display: none"><p>Click should display me!</p></div> </body> </html> But instead of using a heading element (h2) I would like to use a table row to display the new div. However, when I do this, the newly displayed division messes with the spacing for the table columns and also in firefox it will leave the display space for the div blank and continue to repeat this each time the row is clicked. I've looked for similar problems with google, but haven't dug anything up. Any pointers? I've set up two divs side by side using "float:left;". In each of the Divs I have placed links, in the right hand div I can click the links but in the left hand div I can not. If I remove the "float:left;" I can then click the links in the left hand div but the divs are no longer aligned. The problem only happens in FF not in IE. I have copied the relative code below that is causing the problem. Code: #left{float:left;position:relative;width:49%;} #right{position:relative;} <div id="left"><a href="hh">hh</a></div> <div id="right"><a href="hh">hh</a></div> I don't want to have to change the layout just for FF so I'm hoping there is a fix for this problem. Thanks Hey guys, Just seeing if this is possible. By the way this is for a myspace page. Looking to have a link to change opacity on current page. table table table, div table table{ border-color:rgb(0,0,0); border-style:solid; border-width:2px; background-color:rgb(55,55,5); opacity:0.8; -moz-opacity:0.7; filter:alpha(opacity=50); } This is the code currently. Is it possible (without java) to have a link that would set "opacity:0" Thanks! Hi Guys, I'm trying to create a category list. One first load, the category list is going to be a short list of the top 5 major categories. Each major category will have a sublist of 3 subcategories below it. Lastly, there will be a link labeled 'more' that when clicked, will toggle out divs and display a full category list. Lastly, all other primary categories will have their short list hidden as well, so you only see the Primary Category followed by a 'more' link. Here's a crude example of what I mean. First block is 'first load'. Then the next block would be how it'd look if I clicked the "more" link below vehicles -------------------------------- Vehicles -Cars -Trucks -Motorcycles MORE Stuff -Musical Instruments -Camping -clothing MORE Electronics -televisions -stereos -video games MORE ------------------------------ ex. Vehicles -Cars -Trucks -Motorcycles -Boats -Tractors -antiques -commercial Less Stuff MORE Electronics MORE ------------------------------ I think every primary category (ie vehicles) will require 3 divs. Div1 - short list with 3 sub categories Div2 - full list of all subcategories Div3 - hidden list At first load, the DIV1 variant will be displayed for all primary categories. When the 'more' link is clicked for a particular primary category, it will swap it's div1 for it's div2, and at the same time, swap all other categories div1 for their div3. If the 'less' link is clicked on div3, everything would revert back to normal, all primary categories showing div1. I need to find/write some javascript which would toggle the div's. Does this make sense? Am I going about this the right way? I'd think the code would look something like the following, with each Primary category being cat1, cat2, cat3, etc. Code for first Primary Category Code: <div id="cat1div1"> sample text <a href="javascript:toggle2('cat1div1','cat1div2');javascript:toggle2('cat2div1','cat2div3'); javascript:toggle2('cat3div1','cat3div3');"> more </a> </div> <div id="cat1div2"> a whole bunch of sample text <a href="javascript:toggle2('cat1div2','cat1div1');javascript:toggle2('cat2div3','cat2div1'); javascript:toggle2('cat3div3','cat3div1');">less</a> </div> <div id="cat1div3"> <a href="javascript:toggle2('cat1div3','cat1div2');">MORE</a> </div> Hi, I have a pure css menu that uses hover, Kravitz told me it wont work in touchscreens which I searched for and is so, thanks Kravitz. Also one told me to keep the hover and add a class to make it posible to click on li if hover does not work. Problem, cant test this as I dont have any touchscreen. So 1. is there a way to add a code to disable the hover affect? 2, maybe a website where you can test but using mouse.... 3. Dont remember, its validates but are there anything against using <a href="#">? Thanks, Helen Hi, I am in the process of migrating a web site over on to a new platform. The old web page had an in text translation feature which I am wanting to keep but just tweek slightly. The original page has the turkish translation appear on the right and the english translation appear on the let each expanding to about 80% of the page when clicked on. Original Website web .archive.org/web/20080719023530/cat .une.edu.au/page/acemhoyuk This is a link to the original site using Wayback Machine and you can see from the moment the page loads both translations are visible. What I am wanting to do is keep the minimised translations to the one side and the bulk of the text to the other to eliminate the inertia that comes with constantly moving your focus from one side of the page to the other. I have done this by changing this bit of css code: .page_language_a .bilingual .language_a, .page_language_b .bilingual .language_b { position: static; margin: 0 20% 0 0; padding: 0 1.5em 0 0; text-align:left; border-right:1px solid #ccc; } .page_language_b .bilingual .language_b { margin: 0 0 0 20%; padding: 0 0 0 1.5em; border-left:1px solid #ccc; border-right: none; } to .page_language_a .bilingual .language_a, .page_language_b .bilingual .language_b { position: static; margin: 0 20% 0 0; padding: 0 1.5em 0 0; text-align:left; border-right:1px solid #ccc; } .page_language_b .bilingual .language_b { margin: 0 20% 0 0; padding: 0 1.5em 0 0; text-align:left; border-right:1px solid #ccc; } This simple change in the code seems to have worked for the most part and everything lines up fine except that it is not initially visible. When you first navigate to the page both translation appear as the body of the text one after each other. It is not until you click the mouse in the body of the text that you see the css doing what it is meant to and the translation appear on the right. New website www .une.edu .au/cat/sites/Acemhoyuk .php I am a relative novice with css but I can 'read' the code and I have gone through it, experimenting with changing different aspect of it but I can't find any solution to my problem. Could someone please help me figure out a solution to this issue as I want both the text and the translation to appear at the same time on the screen from the moment it loads not just after a mouse click. Kim the website http://www.mostardesigns.com/4five1/ the top menu links work ok in firefox but in IE they wont display, here is my css code for the links: Code: a.a_bannerLink:link, a.a_bannerLink:visited, a.a_bannerLink:active { color:#FFFFFF; text-decoration:none; font-size:12px; font-weight:bold; padding:6px 15px 6px 15px; display:block; } a.a_bannerLink:hover { color:#FFFFFF; text-decoration:none; font-size:12px; padding:6px 15px 6px 15px; background-image:url(../images/link_bg.jpg); background-repeat:repeat-x; display:block; } any help is appreciated, thanks in advance. Is it possible to display a submit button in a form as a regular link? I'm not allowed to use Javascript, so it has to be done in CSS. Thanks Hi there, I have a script that displays content when a link is hovered on which then hides when the mouse is hovered off it. Is there a way to make it so the content stays there until one of the other links is hovered on? This is my CSS: PHP Code: div#links a span {display: none;} div#links a:hover span {display: block; position: absolute; top: 200px; left: 0; width: 125px; padding: 5px; margin: 10px; z-index: 100; color: #AAA; background: black; font: 10px Verdana, sans-serif; text-align: center;} div#links a:hover {color: #411; background: #AAA; border-right: 5px double white; } and this is the HTMl PHP Code: <div id="links"> <a href="http://www.meyerweb.com/eric/css/">Link 1<span>1</span></a> <a href="http://www.meyerweb.com/eric/css/">Link 2<span>2</span></a> <a href="http://www.meyerweb.com/eric/css/">Link 3<span>3</span></a> </div> Any ideas? I use this css: #clearfooter { /* VERTICALLY ALIGN THE FOOTER TO BOTTOM WHERE REQUIRED */ clear: both; height: 170px; overflow: hidden; } #footerbox { /* BOX FOR THE FOOTER */ height: 170px; width: 759px; margin:0 auto; padding:0; margin-top :-170px; text-align: center; } It puts the footer at the bottom of the page. In IE I can click on the links in that part of the page. In FF I cannot. If I remove the "clearfooter" id then it works in FF although obviously it knackers the page layout...any solution available? Hi all. Question is in the title really. I have made a <td> a link e.g. the whole <td> rather than just the text within it. It works fine in FF, but only the first <td> in the table works in IE. I have seen a hack/fix for this somewhere, but I cannot find it - google is good, but I can never re-find anything! At the moment I have this CSS Code: Original - CSS Code .tdmenu td a{ border: 1px solid #000000; display: block; } .tdmenu td a:hover{ border: 1px solid #000000; background-color: #FFFFFF; display: block; } .tdmenu td a{ And here is a sample of my HTML HTML Code: Original - HTML Code <table width="120px" border="0" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="2"class="tdmenu" > <tr> <td><a href="Exec">Exec</a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><a href="Updates">Updates</a></td> </tr> </table> <table width="120px" border="0" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="2"class="tdmenu" > <tr> <td><a href="Exec">Exec</a></td> </tr> <tr> <td><a href="Updates">Updates</a></td> </tr> </table> Thanks for your time and any help J Noble Hi There - Am stumped. Everyone I know is stumped. We're using the cms Drupal on www.digitaldollhouse.com and whenever we update the site from svn, ie decides it doesn't want to display the page. White screen of death. Notice: ie cannot display this page. It occurs on all flavors of ie. It used to be solved by clearing the caches. Not anymore. The original authors of the html/css monster are contractors long since by the wayside. Another themer has taken over and she is very good, but had to work around some serious badness. She's also stumped. That leaves me. I'd be grateful for any ideas on how to even start to troubleshoot this bug. well i have totally redesigned my orginal page due to problems with IE browser-- i am now using a two column template and have copied code exactly-- had both XHTML and CSS verified with the W3C validator and they both check out to be ok-- the page is NOT showing up properly at all-- i am using FIREFOX as browser and i am wondering if i have now traded one problem for another i would sure appreciate it if someone would just go and look at page to see if it shows up right in another browser- THE PAGE also here is the url for the CSS CODE here is link to how page is supposed to look-- CORRECT VIEW if the page is not right in FOX does anyone know a work around to make it right?????? UGH UGH THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING thanks in advance-- I want to show in a page two different link styles, to achieve this I have created two css files, one for each link style, and I have attached it in the page thus: Code: <html> <head> <title>Link format test</title> <link href="StylesCSS/link1.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> <link href=" StylesCSS/link2.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"> </head> <body> Then I have applied the styles thus: Code: <a href="index.aspx" class="letterLink1">Home</a> <a href="forgotten_password.aspx" class="letterLink2">I have forgotten my password</a> And both css files are as follow: link1.css Code: a:link { font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px; color: #669966; text-decoration: none; font-weight: bold; } a:hover { font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px; color: #568156; text-decoration: underline; font-weight: bold; } a:active { font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px; color: #568156; text-decoration: underline; font-weight: bold; } .letterLink1 { font-family: Arial; font-size: 12px; color: #669966; text-decoration: none; font-weight: bold; } link2.css Code: a:link { font-family: Arial; font-size: 10px; color: #669966; text-decoration: underline; } a:hover { font-family: Arial; font-size: 10px; color: #FFCC66; text-decoration: underline; } a:active { font-family: Arial; font-size: 10px; color: #FFCC66; text-decoration: underline; } .letterLink2 { font-family: Arial; font-size: 10px; color: #669966; text-decoration: underline; } But when I load the page, the link1 a:hover and a:active are showed as link2 a:hover and a:active. What is wrong? Thank you, Cesar I'm making a page and I've got an a:link specification. I want a separate specification for a part of the page under a .header tag. The background on that part of the page doesn't match the a:link color I have specified for the rest of the page. So I want one specifically for the .header tag. Doesn't seem to be working though. How do you think I should throw it in there? |
