CSS - Position Relevant In Firefox
Im creating a website for somebody and using CSS for positioning.
Ive created a main content container which is a DIV and have several child DIVS which are the content themselves. The problem I am positioning the divs using relevant positioning but in firefox the webpage is still leaving lots of space underneath the positioned divs like they are stacked on top of each other. Safari isnt giving me this problem and I havent even looked at it in IE so i dont know yet. But could somebody please tell me how I can get firefox to get rid of all the space underneath because my DIVS are not stacked. http://christopher-ball.com/Craig/ visit that in firefox and you will see what I mean, theres a big chunk of red UNDER the footer that shouldnt be there. If i take out the awards and sponsors DIVS then the block disappears. I have a page, all divs, all positions absolute. Everything is working perfectly except two divs, which should line up 157px from the top, do so only in firefox, safari and netscape, and for some reason they are 8 pixels off in IE. If I change the position to 149px, then it lines up perfectly in IE, but 8 pixels too high (and then of course behind other stuff in firefox, etc.). I have been trying to pick colours for the site I'm playing with. I can't find any pastal (my preference - not necessarily the best, I'm still learning) colours I like in the Web Safe Colours. So, I started snooping around the internet . . . mostly to find out how bad it is that I'm not considering IE 5.x when developing. I found this information at Upsdell: Browser News and it appears to be dated Nov 19th 2005. It suggests that ~1% are restricted to the 256 colours. Is this site reputable for information accuracy and is it reasonable to conclude that web safe colours are a thing of the past? Cheers! The CSS background-position: right; is not working in Firefox/Netscape, and just aligns the background image to the left. Know why? Hi, I have been beating my head against the wall here. I am desperate. I think I found a bug in Firefox, and I'm not sure how to work around it. The following code works in everything (IE 8, Chrome, Safari, Opera) except Firefox (version 3.6.3). I.E. the relative/absolute positions. I am creating a site with 1 banner and 2 columns underneath, all centered. The 2nd column I want to be right beside the left coumn. so it simply goes like So depending on where left is on the page, the main is always literally right beside it. Anyone have any suggested reads on this? Please look at this page in IE, http://www.atramember.com then in Firefox. To see how it *SHOULD* display, use Mozilla, Safari, etc... Use Internet Explorer on Windows to see how it displays incorrectly. The first way that I wanted to do it was to have everything either float: left; or float: right; and then use relative positioning on the left menu to bump it left. The problem with this is that Internet Explorer didn't want to do that and since I'm designing with every internet user in mind, I must make everything viewable for eve I assume that the problem lies with the stylesheet in these two sections... Hi guys, I have a Photoshop sliced page. Needed to create a login area. Inserting a form tag sent all sliced images running for the hills...lol. I solved this with a div tag. Now the problem is that the text boxes for Username and Password do not alling correctly in all resolutions. It is as if the text boxes are floating, not anchored to the specified XY position. For example on the design PC IE7 all looks good. On my laptop also with IE7 text boxes are slightly to the right of where they should be. I am wandering if any one could help please.
