CSS - Page Bottom Content Obscured In Firefox
Hi all,
this is my first post and hope I get help in a hear-tearing problem that I face at this link: (URL address blocked : See forum rules) ie show the complete page fine but firefox obscure the bottom content, no need for more explanation since it is obvious from looking at the page, I have the same problem when page content get much long as in the above link. any help would be greatly appreciated. sorry for my bad english Similar Tutorialshi, I am fairly new to css and working on a website with a complete css layout for the first time, one I got from dreamweaver. I thought things were going great because I did all my testing in Firefox (like a good boy) but then I tried to test it in Internet Explorer 6 and alot if not all of my webpages have the text positioned at the bottom instead of the top of a page. Hello - I'm having trouble with the layout of a site I'm working on. Here's the site in question: http://www.americanidiotsband.com/ If you look at it in anything up to 1024x768, it's fine. But if you go higher than that (say, 1280x1024 resolution), then the main (black) part of the page goes only as far down as the content that is filling it. What SHOULD happen is that the black background should span all the way to the bottom, no matter how much content is inside it... Here is a link to the stylesheet that I made up: http://www.americanidiotsband.com/styles.css I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, and I'm hoping that someone could help me correct this. Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered!... Hello everyone I have a problem with keeping a footer at the bottom of a page. It hovers over other elements in Firefox 3.6.6 Also I'd like to have the footer at the right side and not centered. If I define "right" however, part of it disappears in IE. The style sheet is no from me. I would appreciate, if someone were kind enough to have a look and help me. } Hi, I'm working on a website for a church and we're near completion, but I'm having trouble getting the site to display properly in IE7 on Windows XP and a few other browsers according to browsershots.org. CSS and XHTML both validate at w3c.org. I've ripped this thing apart and put it back together with no luck. The really weird thing is the Home page looks fine, but in the rest of the pages the body content gets pushed below the left and right navigation bars. Is it a CSS float problem? Margins or paddings??? Home page: Looks OK in IE7, at least on my machine - http://www.stlukeslutheran.com/index_temp.php Ministry page: Content is pushed to bottom of page - http://www.stlukeslutheran.com/mini...ns_ministry.php The CSS files are at http://www.stlukeslutheran.com/css/main.css and http://www.stlukeslutheran.com/css/common.css. Would anyone be willing to take a look? Thanks in advance. I want a footer that's at the bottom of the page. If there isn't much content that means it should be at the bottom of the screen and there will be no scrollbars. If there is tons of content then it should show after the content and only be visible if the user scrolls to the bottom of the page. This code shows what I'm after and the problem I'm hitting. Code:

title

Content

LeftCol

rightNav

I'm at the top.

I'm at the bottom.

Appreciate your thoughts. So I have a 3-column layout in CSS and I'd like to have the content in the right-most column to be align to the bottom, like so: Code: | LEFT | MIDDLE | | | (top) | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | RIGHT | | | | (bottom) | Any idea how to do it? Thx! Hello. I'm having an impossible time trying to get my page to behave properly. First, here's a link to the testing site: http://www.tromadance.com/hoffman_test/index.php The black left/right borders are supposed to go down to the bottom of the page (as long or short as that may be, depending on the content). Whichever is longer between the left side content or the right side content should be in charge of "stretching" the page. There is also a footer that should remain at the bottom, which is not even being shown... I added borders to some of the divs to try to see what was going on. It looks like a mess, but I'm not sure what i am doing wrong!... Here is the CSS, followed by the HTML... I now am fixing it with tables.... thanks for the forum! [IMG]cater-express dot com/IE7.png[/IMG] An image of IE7 and IE6 of my newly relaunched website - I actively have: html, body { text-align: center } #content { width: 400px; margin: 0 auto; text-align: left } __________ it does not work... please help bring content up to top in "content" ______ I wish I could just do all the cooking and not the coding! Thanks for any help! Greetings, I have a 3 column layout with a header, nav bar, content space and footer on the center column, making the center column have 4 rows. The content div's height is set to auto and it's overflow to auto so that when the browser is maximized on higher resolutions it will expand and contain the text without a scrollbar. alternatively it will give a scroll bar if the content div is shrunk below 300px. however the auto height on the content div is causing it to take up more room than necessary. if the window is shrunken down, the content text will leak out over the footer bar and beyond. Before i post code does anyone have any suggestions on what i should be looking for? If code is wanted lemme know. Hi there, I have 2 main divs.. one left for navigation and one to the right for the content. For some reason, the right hand side one is displaying content at the bottom where the left div's content ends, instead of at the top. This is my code. Any help on what I have done wrong would be great! PHP Code: #main_left{ width: 238px; float:left; background-color: #EBE1D1;} #main_left_inside{ padding: 10px;} #main_content{ margin-left: 248px; background-color: #ffffff;} #main_content_inside{ padding: 10px;} Hello, My first CSS site was going fine; I was learning as I went and drawing from different resources. My code and CSS probably isn't very pretty ( I validated it, I know it needs to be cleaned up) but things were working. Then I went back and made some adjustments concerning the widths of my column divs. Now I find that Firefox is respecting the rightcolumn div (specifically:
)but IE keeps kicking it to the bottom left. I've tried messing with the column lengths so everything fits accordingly as specified in the frame div width. Can anyone please take a look and offer a suggestion? thanks. http://www.brinjac.com/test/binnspark.html I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I'll ask anyway. I have an absolutely positioned DIV layer that's made visible when an image is clicked. The DIV pops up, but is partly obscured by a SELECT element that's a bit further down the page. Here's a screenshot. The grey box saying "O'Reilly" and Addison-Wesley" is the DIV in question. The "Prentice Hall" bit is hidden under the SELECT element. Now the question is, is there any way to get the DIV to be on top? I've already given the DIV element a Z-Index of 1, and the SELECT element a Z-Index of 0, but to no avail. Any help would be highly appreciated Please take a look at this mumbo jumbo example: Testing page The objective is to adjust the images of the four round corners of a content rectangle. Now the problem is that the two bottom round corners are not showing properly in Firefox 1.0. They bleed outside the rectangle towards the bottom, with a few pixels. And no matter what I change or try, it won't work. Second, the corners don't look even close to right in Internet Explorer 6.0. Do you have any idea how to correct this thing? Thanks a lot for anyone taking the time to help and give tips. Hi Guys, I'm trying to create a footer for a web page. The content displayed will change dynamically from article to article that is posted. The footer is a simple div that has centered text stating "page posted by $membername on $date" What I want is if the article is not long enough to push the footer all the way to the bottom, that it would be fixed to the bottom of the screen (not the page). Is this possible? For instance, someone posts an article that is long enough that you would need to scroll down to see the entire page. The footer would be ok being placed just after the article. But if the article is very short, just like 1 paragraph.. the footer would show halfway up the page. Ideas? Using my http://www.thatspotonline.com as an example I'll explain my problem. I'm trying to use a 3 column fluid layout with a header and a footer. I've gotten past the browser problem with IE and now face a new problem with proper display in firefox. With the included css and attached xhtml layout I end up with a rather large gap on the bottom of the design without adding quite a bit of content to make the page length grow. I've tested with about everything else and this problem doesn't show up. I would gladly take some advise if anyone has any thanks. You can run an image, a border, text, whatever you want off the top of the page, but can you do it with the bottom of the page. Code: .top { position: relative; left: 0px; top: -75px; } That will of course run an image off the top of the page, but Code: .bottom { position: relative; left: 0px; bottom: -250px; } this line of code will simply but the image relative to the top image and it's completely visible, meaning the user can view the entire image simply by scrolling down. I'm placing my
's in tables right now, but I'm open to whatever. I simply want an image consistently, running off the top of the page and the bottom of the page at all times. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Using mysql and php I gather data belonging to different people and I put together one page for each person. The bottom of each page has a different footer: Quote:
Data...
The declaration of style is Quote: The problem is that each page has the same information shown at the bottom. However if I check the source code it shows different data for each bottom of page. Help! I'm using CSS to create a gradient, and all is well except for the bottom of the page: http://www.area51entertainment.co/gradient_problem.png For some reason it's placing a red bar at the bottom of the gradient. Any ideas why? http://www.area51entertainment.co/index.php EDIT: Fixed using the following: Code: background-repeat: no-repeat; background-attachment: fixed; |
