Hi I'm having some problems with CSS and was hoping that somebody on here could help me. Firstly despite having a container (wrap) div set to a padding of : 0px auto; the site is not centering. Second none of my images are showing, I've attempted to add a background and header image but neither are showing. I'm a little confused because the same methods work fine on my wordpress site. Here is a link to the dev site; C:\Users\Keith\Documents\Site\index.html And below is the CSS code; Code: /* ------------------------------ HTML Redefine Tags ------------------------------ */ body { width: 100%; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:12px; background: url (img/background.jpg) no-repeat bottom; } input, form, textarea h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 { margin: 0; padding: 0; } h1 { font-size: 18px; } h2 { font-size: 14px; color: #999999; } h3 { font-size: 13px; border-bottom: solid 1px #DEDEDE; padding: 4px 0; margin-bottom: 10px; } a:link, a:visited { color: #0033CC; } a:hover { text-decoration: none; } /* ------------------------------ PAGE STRUCTURE ------------------------------ */ /* #container has an absolute width (780 pixel) */ #container { width: 1024px; background: #ececec; margin: 0px auto; } #topbar { width: 1000px; height: 118px; display: block; background: url(img/header.png); float: left; position: relative } #navbar { width: auto; display: block; height: 28px; } #navbar a { heigth: 28px; line-height: 28px; padding: 0 8px; display: inline; } #main { width: auto; display: block; padding: 10px 0;} #column_left { width: 332px; height: 387px; margin-right: 1px; margin-left: 13px; background: #000; float: left; } #column_right { width: 332px; height: 387px; margin-right: 1px; background: #000; float: left; } #column_right_adsense { width: 332px; height: 387px; background: #000; float: left; } div.spacer { clear: both; height: 10px; display: block; } #footer { width: 1000px; height: 150px; display: block; margin: 0 13px; padding: 10px 13px; font-size: 11px; color: fff; background: #737373; } Hi, I had this working but somehow it's not working again. The problem I am having is that scroll bars are showing up in my iframe in Firefox, Opera, and Safari, but not IE7 and IE6. Here is the link: http://www.caillouette.com/NewCatsMeow/ I know I need to tighten up my style sheet, but if someone could tell me how to solve this, I would be very happy. Here's the iframe code in the index page: Code: <div id="bodyInfo"> <iframe name="mainBody" width="770" height="602" src ="body.html" scrollbars="NO" border="0"> </iframe> <!-- end #bodyInfo --></div> Hi, I have a site that works fine on most computers, but the homepage needs to be refreshed in IE6 and 7. Unless you type in "index.php" after the domain name, you have to refresh the page to see all the content. I have the correct doctype, and I believe my code is clean. I posted about this weeks ago, resolved the problem, now the site is having similar issues. Here is the site:: http://www.catskaraoke.com Any advicde or suggestions are greatly appreciated. thanks - Thanks for taking the time to read my question. I have an <ol> that shows up in FF but not IE7. I have no idea why. I've tried a bunch of different things in my css but none of them work. Does anyone have suggestions? Hey, I have a CSS layout: http://kings.edux.co.uk/fix2.php And this is my CSS doent: http://kings.edux.co.uk/css/style.css If you look at the source-code there is a div with the 'footer' class at the bottom, but I can't get it to show at the bottom on this page, possibly because the div above has a auto height attribute. But ideally I need the div at the bottom of the page and all divs above. Here is the 'footer' class: Code: #footer { margin: 0 auto; /* align for good browsers */ width:159px; margin-top: 0px; font-size:9px; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Geneva, Helvetica, sans-serif ; color: #333333; letter-spacing:1px; } I have tried a few things but nothing's working yet. Hi all, I have the following: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en"> <style type="text/css"> <!-- body, html{ height:100%; text-align:center; margin:0px; padding:0px; } #main,#header,#footer,#cleaner{ margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto; width:750px; text-align:left; } #main{ /*this height is for ie only*/ height:100%; min-height:100%; margin-bottom:-50px; } /*ie wont see this, other browsers will*/ body>div#main{ height: auto; } #header, #footer,#cleaner{ height:50px; } --> </style> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" /> <? include ('include/head.php'); ?> </head> <body> <div id="main"> <div id="header"> <? include ('include/top_nav.php'); ?> </div> <? include ('return_policy.php'); ?> <div id="cleaner"></div> </div> <div id="footer"> <? include ('include/footer.php'); ?> </div> </body> </html> It appears to have two columns either side but i can't add anything to them. Can anyone tell me how i might be to add a background image? Cheers, camcim Hey guys, I'm trying to make some CSS Buttons and I have a border that goes around them. For some reason the border-top isn't showing up in IE but works fine in FF. Are there any alternative methods of getting the same effect? Heres some code: PHP Code: #btnBarContainer { font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; height: 30px; font-size: 13px; } #btnBar a, #btnBar a:link, #btnBar a:visited { border-top: 1px solid #FFC40A; border-bottom: 1px solid #FFC40A; border-left: 1px solid #FFC40A; border-right: 1px solid #FFC40A; padding: 3px; padding-left: 0.5em; padding-right: 0.5em; color: #FFC40A; font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none; text-align:center; background-color: #103241; } #btnBar a:hover, #btnBar a:active { border-top: 1px solid #FFCC66; border-bottom: 1px solid #FFCC66; border-left: 1px solid #FFCC66; border-right: 1px solid #FFCC66; padding: 3px; padding-left: 0.5em; padding-right: 0.5em; text-decoration: none; color: #FFCC66; } #btnBar li { padding-right: 30px; display: inline; font-size: 15px; } Heres the HTML: PHP Code: <div align="center" id="btnBarContainer"> <ul id="btnBar"> <li><a href="link1.php">Test Button</a></li> <li><a href="link2.php">Test Button 2</a></li> </ul> </div> Hey, i've got a contact form , and to the right of it i want the contact information. it's showing up in FF, but won't sit next to the form, it's going to the top, and doesn't even show up in IE...it's in the source, but not visible on the page. Here's the CSS; Code: #formbox { margin:10px 15px; padding:15px; border:1px solid #333; width:40%; font-size:8pt; color:white; } .inputareas { width:60%; border:1px solid white; background-color:#FBAB2B; color:#333; padding:1px; margin:2px; } .submit { border:1px solid white; background-color:#FBAB2B; color:#333; margin:2px; } textarea { font-size:8pt; color:#333; } /* contact form paragraph */ .contactform { border:1px solid #333; width:35%; font-size:8pt; color:white; position:relative; left:55%; z-index:20; } and the html; Code: <p class="contactform"> <strong>Jack Rosenberg</strong><br> phone - 734-536-6088<br> fax - 734-943-6039<br> email - jrosen@canamdesign.com<br><br> <strong>Pete Komsic</strong><br> phone - 519-996-4673<br> email - pkomsic@canamdesign.com<br><br> <strong>Scott Stein</strong><br> phone - 519-564-7175<br> email - sstein@canamdesign.com<br> </p> <div id="formbox"> <p>Please complete the following form, ensuring <b>ALL</b> fields are complete.</p> <!-- DISPLAYS ERRORS IF FORM IS INCOMPLETE --> <?php // Check to see if there has been any errors... if(!empty($errors)) { echo '<h3>Sorry there has been the following errors with your form :</h3>'; // Print the errors echo "<div class=\"reglist\">"; echo "<ul>"; foreach($errors as $error) { echo "<li>$error</li>"; } echo "</ul>"; echo "</div>"; } ?> <!-- DISPLAYS INFO IF FORM IS PROPERLY COMPLETED --> <?php // We only want to show the form if there has been no sucessful post if(isset($post_sucess)) { ?> <h3>The following information was sent to us by you:</h3> <p><b>Contact Name:</b><br> <?php echo htmlentities ($_POST['name']); ?></p> <p><b>Email:</b><br> <?php echo htmlentities ($_POST['email']); ?></p> <p><b>Phone Number:</b><br> <?php echo htmlentities ($_POST['Phone']); ?></p> <p><b>Inquiry:</b><br> <?php echo htmlentities ($_POST['inquiry']); ?></p> <?php } else { // Else show the form ?> <form method="post" name="contactform" action="<?php $_POST['PHP_SELF'];?>"> <fieldset> <legend>Name:<br></legend> <input type="text" name="name" class="inputareas"> </fieldset> <fieldset> <legend>Email:<br></legend> <input type="text" name="email" class="inputareas"> </fieldset> <fieldset> <legend>Phone Number:<br></legend> <input type="text" name="phone" class="inputareas"> </fieldset> <fieldset> <legend>Inquiry:<br></legend> <textarea rows="4" cols="30" class="inputareas" name="inquiry"></textarea> </fieldset> <fieldset> <legend> <input type="submit" value=".:Submit:." class="submit" name="submit"> </legend> </fieldset> </form> <?php } ?> </div> <!-- CLOSES FORM BOX --> thanks! I have a site I'm working on at APOD and it works fine in IE until I started putting together the template for the phpBB forums. I am using their template system, but combining it with my theme to make a phpBB template. In IE the header shows up in the correct position, but with a gap. I can't figure it out for the life of me. The link is APOD Forums I have attached the CSS that was developed by phpBB (based on subsilver theme --apod.txt) and then my css (style.txt). I have a small table that is not displaying borders in IE. On this page The section with Financial Aid and Parents should have a grey 3px border on the right hand side going from the header image to the person at the bottom. In FF it displays as intended. HTML Code: <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td id="finaid" class="finaid greybrdr"></td> <td id="parents" class="greybrdr"></td> <td id="students" class="students"></td> </tr> <tr> <td class="bod finaid greybrdr"></td> <td class="bod greybrdr"></td> <td class="bod students"></td> </tr> <tr> <td id="finback" class="greybrdr"></td> <td id="parback" class="greybrdr"></td> <td id="studback"></td> CSS Code: .greybrdr { border-right: 3px solid #e4e4e4; } .finaid { border-left: 2px solid white; } .students { border-right: 5px solid white; } .bod { width: 183px; height: 200px; background-color: #FFFFFF; } I have defined my H2 as Code: #content h2 { font-size: 12px; color: #cc9966; text-transform: lowercase; font-style: normal; border-top-width: 1px; border-left-width: 1px; border-top-style: solid; border-left-style: solid; border-top-color: #cc9966; border-left-color: #cc9966; padding-left: 2px; padding-top: 2px; position: relative; } My bug is that the top border does not show at all, sometimes, in IE (sometimes it does, and mozilla seems to be fine always - of course). For example, see http://www.jaypaulstudio.com/about.html where it does not show and http://www.jaypaulstudio.com/gallery/beach/spink.html where it does show. Perhaps I've been looking at it too long, but the two occurrences look like they have the same css applied to them on both pages... Any ideas why this might be happening? Thanks for taking the time to look - Sarah I am trying to set up a simple hover event which shows a div when another div is hovered. Can anyone tell me why my code is not working? In the HTML: Code: <div id="package-tab1"> <h3>Basic Package</h3> </div> <div id="description1">asdfasdfasdf</div> In the CSS: Code: #package-tab1 { width: 135px; height: 100px; border: solid 1px; padding: 10px; float: left; margin: 10px; } #description1 {display:none;} #package-tab1:hover #description1 { display:block; position:absolute; left:0; top:0; width:300px; height:500px; border:1px solid #900; background-color:#FFEFEF; } I have a menu that is built using css/html that shows up fine in firefox but doesnt in IE. The rollover buttons work but the submenu that should appear when the rollover is active, doesnt. [submenu is only for 'products' and 'about us'] the site is he http://soem.batcave.net the css for the navmenu is he http://soem.batcave.net/navstyle.css Any help on why this is happening [or not as is the case] would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Hi If you take a lookk at this http://www.premier-resin-systems.co.uk/home/ in IE5 you will see 2 orange lines, these should have text and titles in them. Viw them in IE6, FF etc you will see what it is meant to look like. Why is this, is it the overflow:auto; I have stuck on the productbox class? Also the voucher image in IE6 should be a few pixels under the orange bar. Could somone shed some light on this as it is driving me nuts!!! Thanks for any help |
