CSS - Scrolling Image Marquee Problem
I have a image marquee on a page and sometimes only the top halves of the images show up. usually after refreshing the page the full images show up but I still want to fix it. I've tried adjusting the overflow but it doesnt change it, and i cant figure out where in the code the problem is.
heres the page with the marquee http://myspace.com/hheyh222 and here's the code for the layout. Code:
td.text td.text table table table, td.text td.text table fffbr, td.text td.text table .orangetext15, td.text td.text .redlink, td.text td.text span.btext {display:none;}td.text td.text table {background-color:transparent;}td.text td.text table td, td.text td.text table {height:0;padding:0;border:0;}td.text td.text table table td {padding:3;}td.text td.text table table br {display:inline;} .FriendsComments table table {display:none;} .friendsComments td {height:0px;} .FriendsComments td {background-color:transparent;} .FriendsComments td td b a {display:inline;} table table, table table table table, table table{background-color:transparent;width:300px;border:0px;} div,table,tr,td,th{background-color:transparent;text-align:left;border:0px;} ffffffa.navbar,font,.whitetext12,.btext,.orangetext15,.redbtext,.redtext,.blacktext12,.lightbluetext 8,strong,.blacktext10,.nametext,div b font font, div font font u,table table table table, table table table table td.text, td.text td.text table, table.contacttable{display:none;} .latestBlogEntry {display: none;} table tr td div div{ visibility:hidden; There seems to be an odd line appearing on the page. I realize that the page does not validate as 1.0 strict, but I made the changes and this is still happening when I run it from apache on my home computer. I am not sure why this is happening. If anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Hi there! Please have a look here. As you can see there's a scrolling box with a overflow:auto propriety set. All works well either in Firefox and Internet Explorer, but I had to use a hack to made it work with IE: Code: #content { position: relative; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; padding-right: 25px; padding-left: 25px; font-family: Verdana,Arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; text-align: justify; overflow: auto; width: 543px; height: 225px; background-image: url(img/centerblank.jpg); background-repeat: no-repeat; _background-attachment: fixed; } FF doesn't read the _background-attachment so all works fine.. problem is, this way the css code is no w3c compliant. Any ideas? Hi all, Normally I'm faithful to table layout in my page design, but try to stay aware of how CSS is comming along at least as far as browser compatibility issues go. I've been wanting to use CSS for its transperancy abilities, and with my first trial page I've sadly run into same reasons I've steered away from CSS for so long. Hopefully all is not lost, and I may find help here. My problem is with a div that has a background image, and another div inside that containing the text which uses semi tranperant background color and "overflow : auto" to set the text apart from the background and allow scrolling. In IE, everything looks beautiful, and I wondered for a moment why I stayed away form CSS for so long. Then I tried Mozilla... Scrolling the text in the div is painfully slow and unresponsive to the point its almost impossible to move where you want in the text. The opaque background changes in color once you move down and leaves a seperation between the two colors or opacity, and generally works poorly. Here is the link, and the source is small: http://coinmonger.com/now.html Hopefully this is due to my lack of expertise using CSS, and a work-around is available. Currently I've downsized the background image hoping it was image size that was causing the problem (as this is just a quick test to see if I could do this), but no change. The page even loads slower using the "moz-opacity" attribute. Any input is appreciated! Hello, I have set up a scrolling div area on a page I'm working on. In IE it is displayed nicely, but in Foxfire/Mozilla the div seems to have a top margin of around 6px. I've done everything I can think of to get rid of it, but it's still there. I'm thinking it's probably the way that it's being rendered by the browser, but I don't have any idea how ti fix it. If you could help that would be great.. PHP Code: div.main_page_scroll { height: 186px; width: 210px; overflow: auto; scrollbar-base-color: #C7E9FB; scrollbar-track-color: #C7E9FB; scrollbar-face-color: #C7E9FB; scrollbar-highlight-color: #C7E9FB; scrollbar-3dlight-color: #AEC9D6; scrollbar-darkshadow-color: #AEC9D6; scrollbar-shadow-color: #C7E9FB; scrollbar-arrow-color: #AEC9D6; font-family: tahoma; font-size: 9px; color: #211F1E; text-align: left; background-color:#C7E9FB; } thanks, Chris Hi. I have a table cell
then a div
then a table that are wider than td above. I firefox the div is not wider than the td above. In IE7 (not tested in IE6), the DIV does force the td above to be wider than it should. is there a way to make this work in IE7 as it should. Is it a bug in IE7? Any workarounds/ solutions for this?. If not possible to do with CSS then I would appreciate a workaround suggestion. Could I put an image or other element within the TD and set that width to 100% to make it as wide as the TD, and then user javascript to find actual pixelwidth of image or other element, and then use javascript to reset the width of the DIV..... Anybody??? Need it to work in IE6, IE7 and Firefox. I'm having a little trouble with the Overflow attribute on my side scrolling website. I have uploaded 2 versions one and two of the same site, one with
Code: overflow:hidden; overflow-x:visible; and one with just. Code: overflow:hidden; the first one is completely static in safari and won't scroll at all but scrolls really nicely in firefox (with a scroll wheel as there are no scroll bars). The second one has a horizontal scroll bar but goes really wierd and starts scrolling horizontally as well which I don't want to happen as it messes up my site. Is there a way to get the site to scroll horizontally without scrolling vertically? I have tried it both this way and by only using Code: overflow-y:hidden; but it has similar results. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated Hi folks, I'm working on a website at the moment and having some issues 'fixing it' for Internet Explorer. The design scrolls horizontally, and using 'position:fixed;' on certain elements keeps them on the page while the rest scrolls - this works fine in Safari / Camino / Firefox etc. but as we know position:fixed; is broken in IE. I tried applying the fix found at http://web.tampabay.rr.com/bmerkey/...tion-fixed.html but this only seems to work for regular vertical scrolling pages - when scrolled horizontally the "fixed" elements still scroll with the page. Is there any way possible to get this to work? I really really want to avoid any of those javascript "jumpy" scripts to reposition the element all the time. Thanks all. i have a scrolling marquee. when the drop down menu extends, couple of the items gets hidden underneath the marquee container. when i define z-index:-1 then the marquee container disappears on the screen. does anyone have a suggestion for this? thanks. btw. it only happens in IE http://gcterminal.mallfinder.com/index.cfm?refresh=1&showdebug=1 I've downloaded a web template he http://www.freewebsitetemplates.com/preview/dogstemplate/ I've been re-working it to fit what I need, but I've run into some problems with the CSS. I want to center my images that I place, but I can't seem to figure it out. For whatever reason I'm not able to attach my html or css file. So I've uploaded a zip file with them to: http://www.tombraiders.net/katie/css.zip If any of you would be able to help I would be so appreciated! I'd also like to move the image down a line as right now it's right under the previous line of text. Thank you! Hello, I don't know whether this is the right forum for my issue, so apologies if it isn't. To better understand the problem, kindly visit this page: http://www.lightblu.com/contact.php Basically, you see those 4 social networking logos? They are at the right position. However, when you click "Submit (without writing anything anything in the form), the errors will display, and the logos will shift downwards as a result. I don't want this. I want the logos to be at the same position. Question: how could I do this? I'm trying to find the logic first before implementing it, which I can't even figure out. Thanks guys Hey, I found a script that enlarges a picture when you hover over it. I edited the script a bit to fit my needs. However, the whole script works fine except that in IE there's a stacking problem. The enlarged image is shown below the thumbnail image (when you hover over the thumbnail image). This is how it looks in IE: http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/6428/errorbm9.jpg And this is how it should look (chrome): http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/4663/correctax8.jpg I tried to set the z-index of the enlarged image to 2 and that of the thumbnail to 1, but that doesn't seem to work. the css: Code: .hoverbox{ /* For the list (ul tag) */ float: left; cursor: default; list-style: none; width: 80%; } .hoverbox a{ cursor: default; } .hoverbox a .preview{ /* hide the enlarged picture by default*/ display: none; } .hoverbox a:hover .preview{ /* the enlarged image settings */ display: block; position: absolute; top: 50px; left: 50px; } .hoverbox img{ /* the default settings for all images */ background: #fff; border-color: #aaa #ccc #ddd #bbb; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; color: inherit; padding: 2px; vertical-align: top; } .defaultImg{ /* width of the thumbnail image */ width: 100px; height: 75px; } .hoverbox li{ background: #eee; border-color: #ddd #bbb #aaa #ccc; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; color: inherit; display: inline; float: left; margin: 3px; padding: 5px; position: relative; } .hoverbox .preview{ border-color: #000; } The html for the images Code:

Does anyone have a solution to my problem? Thanks in advance I have a problem with my CSS in IE6 (surprise, surprise). If you look at www.bluehatmedia.co.uk you will notice that the left hand menu is for some reason on the far right (needing to scroll). But if you look in FireFox, Netscape, Opera, Safari they all work fine. But if you mouse over a link then the menu goes back to the left had side where it should be. and when i remove the following from my CSS: background-image:url(images/picture.gif); background-repeat: repeat-y; background-position: right top; the background image doesnt display (obviously) and then menu goes back to the left. Any ideas much appreciated Tom I don't know if this has been adressed or not but I am having a problem using the background:url(images/stuff.jpg); and the background-image: .... I been trying to set an elements background but I get nothing for the background it will not apper even if I do a simple code like this this is just an example : Code: CSS Code: div#top p { background:url('image/logo.gif'); } I would do something like this and it will not show the bg image I mean this is just a simple code I have done it in the past but I don't know why I am not able to see the bg image is there a rule I missed somewhere if so which one well hope you can help me hi, i'm trying to add an outer glow image to my site, starting about a 100px from the top. when i use padding on the element i'm adding the trim to, the entire site including the banner shifts down. so i tried using background position, which works until i add repeat-y, which causes it to repeat in the 100px where i don't want it. is there a way to make an image only repeat down? Hello, I'm currently developing a new website for a clan but Internet Explorer isn't displaying the background image of the content area correctly. It pushes the content area ~4px to the right from where it should be. I've tried reducing the size of the navigation element but that didn't work and in fact had the opposite effect of what I was looking for. For some reason I can't link to an image, nor to the site itself to show you the error. This is the code applicable to the content area. Code: #content { width:770px; background-image:url(images/backgrounds/conbg.png); background-repeat:repeat-y; font-size:11px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 70px; margin-left: 130px; margin-right: 0px; vertical-align:top; } #contentlimit { width:690px; } #condiv { width:770px; margin-left: 130px; margin-right: 0px; } And this the Navigation element: Code: #nav { width:130px; display:block; float:left; vertical-align:top; margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; } .mlink a { display: block; color: #666666; background-image:url(images/backgrounds/link.jpg); width: 130px; padding: .0px .0px; height:15px; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 10px; } .mlink a:hover { color: #333333; text-decoration: none; background-image:url(images/backgrounds/linkhov.jpg); } At last check, with this current style sheet, the code was valid. Any help appreciated, Cold I put together a new web layout with divs and css at www.verbazon.net/index.php. I have a php include for that main content box text that shows up, and as you can see, it screws up the content box images separating them. If anyone can help me fix this I appreciate it. My Css file is located at www.verbazon.net/style.css Hey all. I've been putting together a website for my friend, and my css chops are admittedly pretty old and not that great anyway. I'm wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I can't get a background-image in a
to load at all in a firefox browser, though it loads in safari. I've highlighted the particular image tag.
