CSS - Browser Scroll With Fixed Div
The main content of my site is stored in a fixed position div cell and when the content expands the cell to be longer than the window is tall, the content just disappears off the bottom of the browser rather than creating a scroll bar on the browser.
The fixed position works really well for the way this layout is set up. Is there some way to get the window to scroll when content exceeds window size with this set up? Here is the relevant CSS Code:

thanks in advance!! Bear with me please. I am brand new to html/CSS etc... I just cobbled together a page a few days ago using someone elses code as a reference, I hardly know what I did or how it works, but it works just like I want it to - Background centered and stationary (no scrolling with content), but the content does scroll, with NO horizontal scroll bar. For the most part it works, EXCEPT - I have an unexpected horizontal scroll bar that goes about 50% across the browser and allows the user to pull the content off-center across the background. Basically, I've been trying to place two different background images at two different specific locations, one of them at left-center, and the other one at right-center. I also need them to be able to move/slide as the user scrolls up and down so that they remain visible at all times. Hey folks... I'm working on a site that uses CSS, and the PHP "switch" statement, to pull pages into a main div on the index page. I put a background image into the main ".content" div, which should remain fixed while the content (brought in by the switch), scrolls over it. When I wrote the image in, FF did this by default, whereas in IE, the image would scroll with the text... so I put in the "background-attachment:fixed" code in, and now it works fine in IE, but FF has suddenly developed a problem with it.. the image is off-center, so only part of it shows, leaving huge white spaces where it should be covered. You can look at the site here. I've attached the code for the index page as a word document. Hope this is OK, I figured it would be better than sticking all the code on here! Anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong? using <div id="fixed"></div> However it doesn't seem to work. I can't add the bg image to the body style as I already have another background image specified for the entire document. Any ideas?
