CSS - Tab Content Style Editing

Greetings,

Several years ago, I use to make many, many websites for a hobby. However, with work and other responsibilities (and moving to China), I have had my hands full. However, I am in the process of trying to open my own Education Center in China, and would like to develop a site. Much has changed, though, and I have also forgotten much.

I never used CSS in my old sites, but now it seems almost all templates have CSS. I downloaded a free template, and am in the process of editing it. I can stumble through much of it and figure it out, but I am having trouble with the top and bottom menus of my site. I have two flags on the top menu that I need to change the alignment on. I want them to be closer together, and vertically aligned in the middle. I have fiddled with the code, but only make it worse. Also, I want the top and bottom menu to be perfectly centered, but the only way I can adjust them are be tweaking some numbers, and cannot do it with the center code.

Some help would be MUCH appreciated for this old dog. My site is concord(dash)sihai(dot)com. As you can see, the flag position is correct, but the spacing between them is not. And they have inherited the rollover, background effect, which is not what I want.

Hi there,

I have a content glider script, but I have added it to a wrapper with a background image.

The css is using a white background colour so when a new layer is glided up, it covers the one underneath it. However, I want the background to be transparent to show the background image underneath....

If I remove the white background, they layers become transparent and overlay each other, so you can see all text in the layers on top of each other making it impossible to read.

Is there anyway I can make it so it has a transparent background, but so it will not show the content under the new slide?

Hi,

I have created a accordion menu using a spry widget built into Dreamweaver CS3. However I want to amend this so that the menu is collapsed until the user clicks on a category.

Do I have to amend the CSS or the javascript to make it collapsed to begin with?

Any help would be appericated.

I'm sure all of you have stumbled onto this at some point if you use Macromedia Dreamweaver.

You're working on a CSS-driven layout and it looks perfect in multiple web browsers, but in the actual Dreamweaver design edit mode the page appears garbled and elements are out of place or you can't even see them. While it's not really a problem for you to update and work with the site, it would certainly be difficult for someone not familiar with it to change content and make updates.

Does anyone know of a plug-in that would resolve this problem?

Or perhaps does someone know what attributes or elements most often cause the problem in Dreamweaver?

Does anyone know how to manipulate images within spliced tables? I need to manipulate them with CSS so that that bottom half of the image is revealed only when it is clicked or hovered over?

Hey all,

I downloaded this DHTML script for a Dynamic-Fx Slide-In Menu from http://www.dynamicdrive.com and i'm facing some trouble.

The menu suits my needs perfectly with only 1 problem. I want to position the menu in a fixed location on my website somewhere other than the edge of the screen, so i adjust the xy coordinates in the ssmItems.js file to do so...the problem is that the menu changes location depending on whether the window is maximized or not and on the resolution of the monitor. I want it to stay in 1 place ALWAYS! How? PLEASE HELP!

Well I managed to find a partial solution by adding "clear" to the "statusDiv" like so:

This kicks sibling divs onto their own line (which is what I wanted) but the spacing between divs is 2 pixels and I can't seem to find any combination of padding, margins etc to get the spacing down to one pixel.

Does anyone know of a way to control the inter-div spacing when "clear" is defined?

I'm trying to make a few divs to create the same basic functionality as an outline (with disclosure triangles etc...) and am having alignment problems.

The first row renders perfectly but the text of subsequent rows overlaps the text of first row.

How would you go about creating a navbar like the one Red cross uses on the left side for generic website mapping? Red Cross Example

In the css below, why I can't set it on the same time?

I did a web page for a company and it looks fine in ie7 where I tested it.

The problem is when viewed in IE6 its like it ignores the sizes I put in.

The box appears too big in IE6 and is the propr size in IE7.
Is there any way to fix it so it would look the same in IE6 as IE7?

I was reading a tutorial were they always style both <tr> & <td> with the same thing... Is this needed? Or do you just need to style <tr>?

I have not done much web designing lately and have forgoten a number of things. Right now i cannot remember if it is possible to specify link styles for a specific class for a cell in a table. I have this code for the entire page:

a:link,a:active,a:visited,a:hover { color : #FFFFFF; text-decoration: underline; }

However, I want to have it different in only a specific cell of a table. Is there a way to put it in the following code?
