CSS - Css Not Working - Wamp Server
Hello all,
I'm working through a tutorial and everything seems to work fine. When I debug/test my website, the CSS layout all works and looks good in IE7. However I then upload the website to our hosting website's webserver which is an Apache/1.3.33 Server, and view it with IE7, it doesn't look the same. From what I can tell (as I am still learning CSS and never worked with an Apache Webserver) is that the right: 0px isn't working as my layout isn't spanning the entire page. There are a couple of other issues to, but this is the main one initially. I have validated my CSS and it checked through ok. Is the Apache Server just serving up my CSS differently than what I am expecting and seeing when I test locally? I thought the different browsers (IE, Netscape, Firefox) were what usually caused these type of problems; not what type of server it was. Thank you for any help! I am a developer. Recently developed a site on my server, then moved it to client server. On the client server, some of the CSS is different. Nothing major, small stuff like spacing and a drop down menu that are off. But load the page on the server the resizing doesn't work anymore. It worked great until a few months ago, then the left and right borders suddenly were out of align. It works fine on another web hosting company's web server, but not the one it needs to work on. When I store it in my desktop, and open it from there, the focus works as expected. But when I store the file in Wamp and open it there either by typing C:\Wamp\www\button.html or http://localost/button.html in the URL bar, nothing happens. Can anybody explain this and offer a remedy? Hi I am using suckerfish drop down menu without problem on my local server, however, on the remote server them menu won't work when jscript is turned off (when viewed on IE). I do some websites as a hobbie so I'm no expert. I have created several sites using css with a linked stylesheet and never had a problem using: link rel="stylesheet" href="styles.css" type="text/css" Today I opened Homesite (old version 4.5) for the first time in a few months and began a new project. My problem is, I can't seem to get the stylesheet to work when linked. If I use it inline or in the head tag it works, just not linked. I'm using the same code I have always used. I even copied from other working pages to be sure I'm not missing something. I have also opened several other existing projects stored locally and they work fine. Just nothing I code now will work. I must be overlooking something simple. btw i know i can do hover stuff with css i am just trying to work on one thing at a time though Hi guys. I have finished designing a website and everything looks good except for one thing. I have a form and I have positioned the fields using the margin-top css property. It looks great on FF but there's too much space between fields on IE and it looks bad. Ok, I have a design and it works how I want it to in firefox. http://www.eng.nene.ac.uk/~bf04thbu/ However, In IE there are two problems. 1. The graphical border doesnt go all the way around the content area. View it in firefox to see how it's supposed to look. 2. There is a small gap between the first #maintable and #maintable2. Does anyone know how to fix these? I've been trying for a while without success. It appears that the #maintable2 div is on top of the two side images in #maintable2. Thanks for any help. Any help is welcome, I am not well versed in CSS. Well, not this CSS. None of the properties are workign in IE. it is frustrating. Hey, it's me again, I was wondering if there is a way to make any header tag (in my case, it's H3) so that the text appears as normal? Essentially, make it so that nothing changes with the text. eg- 'Hello <H3>everybody</H3>' would appear just the same as 'Hello everybody.'
