CSS - Problem With Rounded Boxes (modules) In A Cms
Hi guys
I've succeeded doing rounded boxes (modules) in Joomla ( www.joomla.org ) and well, I'm having a little problem now I've tested these modules by putting only text with them, but when I tried putting only 1 image, the module got "corrupted" and broken Look: And here is the code: Code: div.module-round h3, div.moduletable-round h3 { font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 1em; font-weight: bold; color: #333; margin: -2px -8px 0 -8px; border-bottom: 1px solid #cdcdcd; padding-left: 10px; padding-bottom: 2px; background-color: white; } div.module-round, div.moduletable-round { background: url(../images/tl.jpg) 0 0 no-repeat; margin: 0; padding: 0; margin-bottom: 5px; margin-left: 2px; width: 120px; background-color: white; height: 100%; } div.module-round div, div.moduletable-round div { background: url(../images/tr.jpg) 100% 0 no-repeat; } div.module-round div div, div.moduletable-round div div { background: url(../images/bl.jpg) 0 100% no-repeat; } div.module-round div div div, div.moduletable-round div div div { background: url(../images/br.jpg) 100% 100% no-repeat; padding: 8px; width: auto !important; width: 100%; } div.module-round ul, div.moduletable-round ul { margin: 10px 0; padding-left: 20px; } Does any1 know how to make the module to adjust automatically if I put an image (only) on it ? I don't have problem with text or text+images, but when I put only an image, it shows bad Thanks a lot in advance Similar TutorialsHi, I'm still trying to learn CSS. Using CSS instead of tables really increases the versatility of the page, but, don't the graphics suffer? I'm trying to make a 3column layout which resizes according to the resolution. I've made it, but IMO it would look more appealing if I could make the corners curved as in... the menu box corners and the content space corners. Is there anyway to do this? Hi I'm trying to match the overhead menu element of a Coppermine theme to a phpBB style. I've just run into a few problems and I was wonding if anyone could help please? Coppermine here - http://www.brummiesfans.com/coppermine phpBB3 here - http://www.brummiesfans.com/main/ Where I would like some help please is in getting the menu bar to have the same rounded corners as in phpBB3. What I have tried to do is to use the CSS from phpBB3, but on this occasion, it has not worked. The code is shown below. I don't have a problem in Firefox, Safari or Chrome, as there is code in place to sort the rounded corners out in CSS, however I need the missing piece put into place for IE, and this is where I need help. In phpBB3 the div classes are called "corners-top" and "corners-bottom". The relevant graphics files have also been copied across. (e.g. www.brummiesfans.com/coppermine/themes/brummies/images/corners_right.png) If someone can suggest how the matter can be fixed then I'd be very grateful. The relevant bits of the template.html and style.css file wordings follow, which hopefully will be of help. TEMPLATE.HTML Code:

{SYS_MENU} {SUB_MENU} {ADMIN_MENU}

STYLE.CSS Code: .post span.corners-top, .post span.corners-bottom, .panel span.corners-top, .panel span.corners-bottom, .navbar span.corners-top, .navbar span.corners-bottom { margin: 0 -10px; } span.corners-top { background-image: url("images/corners_left.png"); } span.corners-top span { background-image: url("images/corners_right.png"); } span.corners-bottom { background-image: url("images/corners_left.png"); } span.corners-bottom span { background-image: url("images/corners_right.png"); } div.headerbar span.corners-top { background-image: url("images/corners_left2.png"); } div.headerbar span.corners-top span { background-image: url("images/corners_right2.png"); } span.corners-top, span.corners-bottom, span.corners-top span, span.corners-bottom span { font-size: 1px; line-height: 1px; display: block; height: 5px; background-repeat: no-repeat; } span.corners-top { background-image: none; background-position: 0 0; margin: 0 -5px; } span.corners-top span { background-image: none; background-position: 100% 0; } span.corners-bottom { background-image: none; background-position: 0 100%; margin: 0 -5px; clear: both; } span.corners-bottom span { background-image: none; background-position: 100% 100%; } .headbg span.corners-bottom { margin-bottom: -1px; } .post span.corners-top, .post span.corners-bottom, .panel span.corners-top, .panel span.corners-bottom, .navbar span.corners-top, .navbar span.corners-bottom { margin: 0 -10px; } .rules span.corners-top { margin: 0 -10px 5px -10px; } .rules span.corners-bottom { margin: 5px -10px 0 -10px; } Thanks in advance for any assistance. Martin I am developing a site that requires the navigation menu to have one rounded corner at the end on the home button. The default button state is created using a background image but I need it to also have a rollover effect on hover and also on focus (for the home page item only). I have tried to use CSS and curvy corners Javascript code to create the effect as I don't want to use images. However, I don't think the curvy corners script is picking up the div item that I want to apply the corner to. The trouble is I have a number of div boxes on the site that also have rounded corners (3 rounded and 1 square). The CSS is working fine for these in all browsers apart from Opera but when it comes to the navigation it doesn't work properly in IE. Here's the HTML for the menu: Code:

Home

Mortgages

Life Assurance

General Insurance

Partnership Services

About Us

Contact Us

and here's the CSS: Code: #menu { background-image:url(images/menubg.png); height:24px; width: 100%; overflow: hidden; position:relative; float:left; } #menu ul {font-size:11px; font-weight:bold; list-style:none;} #menu li{ display: inline; margin: 0;} #menu ul li a {float: left; display: block; text-decoration: none; margin: 0; padding: 6px 15px 5px 15px; /*padding inside each tab*/ border-right: 1px solid white; /*right divider between tabs*/ color: white; } #menu li a:hover, #menu li a.focus {display: block; text-decoration:none; color:#445671; background-color:#d9e021;} /*background of tabs for hover state, plus tab with "focus" class assigned */ #menu li a.home:hover, #menu li a.homefocus { width:auto; text-decoration:none; color:#445671; background-color:#d9e021; border-right: 1px solid white; /* Do rounding (native in Firefox and Safari) */ -moz-border-radius-topleft:12px; -moz-border-radius-topright:0px; -moz-border-radius-bottomleft:0; -moz-border-radius-bottomright:0px; -webkit-border-top-left-radius:12px; -webkit-border-top-right-radius:0px; -webkit-border-bottom-left-radius:0px; -webkit-border-bottom-right-radius:0px; } The CSS is in an external stylesheet, although I have also added the CSS for the rounded corner items to the header code. The class 'homefocus' seems to work when applied to the a tag on the home page but the other class 'home' which should work on hover won't work in IE. I'm sure it's something to do with the hover. Any ideas how I can make it work? If you open this page; w w w.ctuchicago.com/parties/contact-us.html If you open this page on IE you won`t see any input, but if you open it with chrome or firefox you will see there is input. I found way to make rounded corner input but it doesn`t work with IE7 & IE8. I tried to resolve this problem with z-index and i saw the input area it was looking like working until i tried to type something in input area. Not sure whether this would be a CSS thing or a PHP application. But I'm working on a new site design that randomly shows a large photograph as a background to my portal site (1 photo randomly out of a library of 500 or so photos). I want to allow my visitors to press a shortcut key to hide everything on the page except the page's background if they ever wanted to see what was peeking through the portal columns and around the sides of the page. Is this possible? And if so, how? i have got two areas created with css one above the other but there is a large white gap between i have tried playing arond with the CSS file but cant gt them closer together im still only learning css but i thought id be able to do this.... if someone could advise that would be really great... here is the page so you can see what is happeneing http://www.justtaps.com/test/admintemplate.php and this is a link to the css file http://www.justtaps.com/test/css/main.css thanks in advanced to anyone who replies.. RF Hi I have these boxes which displays correctly in IE but when I view it in FF, the bottom grey line is gone Click Here Can someone someone give pointers as to whats happening San I am sure that you've seen these types of divs/boxes that people use on their webpage. almost everyone uses it pretty much it's a div or a table cell where the cell has background colour and a thin border around it (usually lighter) for a nice effect. Then obviously within the box, there is text to be displayed. I can't seem to get this!! I've tried using tables but what happens is that the border starts overlapping with the other cells and I don't have the effect I won't what's the easiest way of implementing this type of design? thanks! Okay, so I've been trying to figure out the easiest way to make a layer with rounded corners in CSS. I used the 4 corner image way (as opposed to using JavaScript, or a single scalable image). The problem isn't my "main" layer, it's that I have two layers within that "main" layer that need to be positioned correctly (a "navbar" and "content"). The "navbar" I have as float: left, and the same for the "content." Long story short, the "content" window (that also has rounded corners) goes all the way to the right of the "main" layer. I want there to be a margin on the right, but if I put one, the "main" layer messes up big time and goes past the original width it was at. Anyone got an answer to my problem (unlikely, since I didn't explain it very well I don't think) or a simple tutorial I can do? Here's what I want (LINK). How all the divs are rounded in this css ???? I am looking at the images and none f them has any image of a rounded corner ? I have 2 images, searchleft.jpg (looks like { ) and searchright.jpg (looks like } ) I only posted the Doc type just incase, I validated my webpage(www.gameyin.com) and nothing that could hurt this has happened. Anyway I want the rounded borders on the left center, for searchleft.jpg and a roundedborder for searchright.jpg on the right center. I hope I have been very clear. All the searches need 4 images...anyway... As you'll see in the image, I just want 1 pixel to be offset and be in a different colour for each corner of my box. Thanks for reading my question Here is the link to the two pages in question. http://www.pierced.ca/Kelly/cardsRound.htm http://www.pierced.ca/Kelly/indexRound.htm I know my images for the rounded corners aren't round, that's not the problem. My problem is the positioning of the images. When I view the pages using IE, the "Menu" images line up perfectly, and it's just the bl.jpg and br.jpg images on the "Info" section that don't. When I view the pages using FireFox, the bl.jpg and br.jpg images on the "Menu" section are off. Any words of wisdom to get both to work? Thanks again, Brad Hello every one, Am sameer pandurangi and new to web development. I wanted to create a css for SCROLLBAR with rounded corners . Actually i dont know if there is any such property for this in scroll bar. Am able to change the color through css but am not getting the rounded corners for that. Simple question but I'm curious if anyone can work out how the 'Browse' buttons are done on this page, they have rounded corners yet looking through the css I can't see any images that account for them... http://www.haveamint.com/forum/ I have copied this tutorial, but my divs are not showing rounded, but still square. http://www.sitepoint.com/article/ro...-css-javascript Tut link Can anyone see what I've done wrong?
