CSS - Form Spacing Issues

In Mozilla the spacing looks perfect, however, in IE the spacing is HUGE. Here is the associated CSS: Code:

I'm trying to update a site to use CSS instead of tables and I'm having some issues with the top banner and the lovely IEs. Basically, IE6 seems to be acknowledging some padding/margins for my "banner" div and both IE6 and 7 have some extra spacing below my H1/logo image that Firefox/Opera properly display. I put up a screen shot of Firefox (far left), IE7 (middle), and IE6 (upper right) showing the discrepancies at "hxxp://ns1.zivix.com/~mbydalek/sample/Screenshot.png" Here are the specific problems that I am trying to fix: 1) The floated H1 (background green) should have 0 spacing at the bottom, yet IE6/7 both show some extra green indicating some extra spacing 2) IE6 has the banner a few pixels off to the right and actually a couple pixels taller than it's supposed to be, which is the height of the floated right image. When the content of my website expands to include scroll bars, a 1px bar of white becomes visible on the right side of my content. Additional notes: I use the Meyer reset unedited from his website. Thank you! On my new design: http://codymays.net/~private_ftp/theed The header and footer of the green block have a space on them and I cannot figure out why. I had this problem with the design before, but I started over and now I only have this issue with IE6 and below. It works in all other browsers. I can clear the spaces if I set the margin-top of the block's content area to -4 and the footer's margin-top to -4. But once this is done, IE then redraws the div at the bottom of the page for no apparent reason. Any ideas/suggestions on what to do here would be appreciated. For some reason that I can't find, the labels for my input/select boxes are not showing up in IE, though they show up fine in Firefox/Netscape. I view the source code and it's all there which leads me to believe it's something in the CSS portion of the page, though I can't seem to find it. Can someone take a look and see if they notice anything that IE doesn't like? I've tried the same form code (CSS & HTML) w/o all of the other junk and it works just fine which leads me to believe it's in a previous part of the CSS portion. I just can't seem to find it. Thanks in advance. Tim Hi there! I've been diving into trying to make mobile web pages and though a lot of my former CSS experience helps me a great deal I get a bit perplexed about forms. I'd like to have all my form elements at the width of a 100% except for checkboxes and radiobuttons. Now, this almost works out all the way but I have a problem with how the strict rendering handles form elements. I've tried using both XHTML Mobile 1.2 and XHTML Mobile 1.0 but the same problems arise; Apart from wanting the elements to go 100% in width, I also would like them to respect margins. If I simply set the width to a 100% and my right and left margins to, say, 5px, I get the field pushed in 5 pixels from the left but I cannot get the 5 pixel indent from the right. I have tried using a wrapper div but it suffers the same result. I have figured out that this can have something to do with the rules of mobile pages provided by the XHTML mobile rendering specification but I'm now wondering if there's anything I can do to accomplish this. I've found out that mobile pages that have full width elements look (in almost all cases) very good on most handsets I've tested. Thanks in advance! I cannot figure this out. This is starting to bug me this problem, but on my site www.readinginfo.co.uk the background image (inner shadow and small gradient) at the top is playing up. It doesn't seem to want to align all the way over to the left, however as is always the way, it is working in firefox, ie7, 8 and safari. I've tried some of the ie6 fixes mentioned but I have the sneakiest of feelings that it is to do with the form element (the search box), positioning absolutely just bumps it over to the side. Thanks in advance for any reply!! Hi Guys I am having trouble trying to work out a bug that is creating a space between two div containers. To see what i mean click here for web page the css can be viewed here in firefox the two containers appear correctly but in internet explorer there is a 10px space between them. Could it have something to do with the background images? The div containing the login form also drops down in ie and i am convinced this is related to the main problem i am facing.
