CSS - Css H2 Not Showing Up In Ie On Busy Page
I have an IE glitch that I'm wondering if there is a work around for.
Basically on a busy page, a few of my headers dissapear. The code is correct, and the page renders perfectly in Firefox. The page also renders correctly in IE, but once I add all the images to the page (lots of thumbnails), a few random headings (h2's) don't show up. I can highlight the text with the mouse, and the heading appears, until I scroll then it dissappears again. This is obviously some rendering glitch... has anyone come across this before? Any ideas on a work around? Let me know if you want more detail - I'd paste code, but I've seen it happen before and the only thing that's the same is a series of h tags all css'd up and IE 6. Thoughts? Similar TutorialsI am am not that good at this website coding stuff. I put my website together almost two years ago.....bowsforgirls.com -- I am now trying to implement css as is such a pain to change the menu options, footer, etc. when I have to do it on all of the various pages. website is buttercupbowtique.com The problem is that my css page -- mystyle.css and my trials page -- abc.html are not working together. I am sure that it is something completely inane...but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to a remedy for this hair-pulling problem. Thanks all, Michelle I've been looking through many, many forums trying to resolve this issue, so please forgive me if there is a solution to this that I've missed. Here's the deal: On some installs of Firefox (4.0), the body is being positioned 28px lower than the top of the screen. I set the <html> tag to have a light blue background to troubleshoot the issue, and now there is a light blue bar across the top of the page, proving that it is the body of the page that is lower than it should be. I thought it was a Firefox "collapsing margin" issue, so I added "margin:0; to almost everything, and it didn't help. I'm trying to do this without having to absolutely position everything. Here's the site: www-dot-myportlandtours-dot-com here's the css: www-dot-myportlandtours-dot-com/wp-content/themes/myportlandtours/style.css Anybody have insight into this? Hi, I had this working but somehow it's not working again. The problem I am having is that scroll bars are showing up in my iframe in Firefox, Opera, and Safari, but not IE7 and IE6. Here is the link: http://www.caillouette.com/NewCatsMeow/ I know I need to tighten up my style sheet, but if someone could tell me how to solve this, I would be very happy. Here's the iframe code in the index page: Code: <div id="bodyInfo"> <iframe name="mainBody" width="770" height="602" src ="body.html" scrollbars="NO" border="0"> </iframe> <!-- end #bodyInfo --></div> Hi, I have tested on various browsers and platforms. Unfortunately, my div does not appear in IE7. Here's the <div> code:: Code: <div id="mardiGras"> <a onclick="updateWithParty()" href="#"><img src="images/nav/MardiGras.gif" border="0"></a> </div> Here's the style sheet for the mardiGras <div> Code: #mardiGras{ position:absolute; z-index:999; top:331px; width:260px; height:221px; background-image:url(http://www.catskaraoke.com/images/nav/MardiGras.png); display:block; } I tried to use a gif instead of a png, but that didn't work. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? thanks Hey all i am trying to figure out why my search box results shows up just fine in IE, Safari but not FF or Chrome. Does anyone have suggestions? Hey, I have a CSS layout: http://kings.edux.co.uk/fix2.php And this is my CSS doent: http://kings.edux.co.uk/css/style.css If you look at the source-code there is a div with the 'footer' class at the bottom, but I can't get it to show at the bottom on this page, possibly because the div above has a auto height attribute. But ideally I need the div at the bottom of the page and all divs above. Here is the 'footer' class: Code: #footer { margin: 0 auto; /* align for good browsers */ width:159px; margin-top: 0px; font-size:9px; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Tahoma, Geneva, Helvetica, sans-serif ; color: #333333; letter-spacing:1px; } I have tried a few things but nothing's working yet. Hi, I have a site that works fine on most computers, but the homepage needs to be refreshed in IE6 and 7. Unless you type in "index.php" after the domain name, you have to refresh the page to see all the content. I have the correct doctype, and I believe my code is clean. I posted about this weeks ago, resolved the problem, now the site is having similar issues. Here is the site:: http://www.catskaraoke.com Any advicde or suggestions are greatly appreciated. thanks - Thanks for taking the time to read my question. Hey guys, I previously had a CSS 3 column layout I took off of some site, but it didn't display properly in FireFox, so I just remade one, and it works PERFECT in IE and FireFox, but my footer won't show.... Code: body { margin: 0px; padding: 0px; background: black; } #header { height: 150px; background: black; } #leftCol { position: absolute; left: 0px; width: 15%; top: 153px; font-color: black; background-image: url('/images/dkredblk.gif'); } #rightCol { position: absolute; top: 153px; right: 0px; width: 16%; background: black; } #mainCol { position: absolute; top: 153px; left: 15%; right: 16%; width: 69%; bottom: 6; font-color: brown; background-color: #D1D1D1; } #footer { height: 60px; width: 100% background: black; font-color: red; } Anyone mind helping? I have defined my H2 as Code: #content h2 { font-size: 12px; color: #cc9966; text-transform: lowercase; font-style: normal; border-top-width: 1px; border-left-width: 1px; border-top-style: solid; border-left-style: solid; border-top-color: #cc9966; border-left-color: #cc9966; padding-left: 2px; padding-top: 2px; position: relative; } My bug is that the top border does not show at all, sometimes, in IE (sometimes it does, and mozilla seems to be fine always - of course). For example, see http://www.jaypaulstudio.com/about.html where it does not show and http://www.jaypaulstudio.com/gallery/beach/spink.html where it does show. Perhaps I've been looking at it too long, but the two occurrences look like they have the same css applied to them on both pages... Any ideas why this might be happening? Thanks for taking the time to look - Sarah Hi: I have the following in my CSS file: PHP Code: #body { background: url('images/columns.gif') repeat-y; text-align: left; } The problem is that the background image is not showing up un MS Internet Explorer. It works fine in Firefox. Is this a bug? Do I need a hack? hi, I have written a small tooltip code which works in FF and Opera but does not work in IE 6. When I hover it shows nothing. I have the following css Code: a {position: relative;} a span {display: none;} a:hover span { position: absolute; top: 5px; left: 30px; display: block; background: #fdd; border: 1px solid red; } and am using it like this Code: <a href=# >Name<span>full name</span></a> I am trying to set up a simple hover event which shows a div when another div is hovered. Can anyone tell me why my code is not working? In the HTML: Code: <div id="package-tab1"> <h3>Basic Package</h3> </div> <div id="description1">asdfasdfasdf</div> In the CSS: Code: #package-tab1 { width: 135px; height: 100px; border: solid 1px; padding: 10px; float: left; margin: 10px; } #description1 {display:none;} #package-tab1:hover #description1 { display:block; position:absolute; left:0; top:0; width:300px; height:500px; border:1px solid #900; background-color:#FFEFEF; } |
