CSS - Printing A3 Size Php Pages
Hi,
I have many products with information that needed to be displayed and printed. I made a print page that displays each product with its own div that is within another div. When I view the page in IE, there is no problem. See pic 01.gif But when I print (or go to print preview) some pictures that overlap to the next page are CUT OFF. See pic 02.gif Is there any way of using CSS to fix the size of each page taht is printed? I use smarty foreach loops to generate repeating rows/tables. Anyways to set the page so that if the table or row is close to the end of a page then it will skip a few lines and begin again? That way to avoid images being cut off. Please refer to pictures attached he http://forums.devshed.com/php-devel...lem-397554.html Thanks! Similar TutorialsI made a form that I wanted to print. It is a page with a table with most of it formated with CSS. When I print however all that shows is the text, nothing that is defined with CSS is acknowledge, not the font-family, table borders, etc. I tried it with Safari and Firefox, both look the same. What is the deal? Hi everyone, Having some problems with CSS printing. I am trying to get a webpage to print in B4, no print margins, no header or footer. There is supposively a way to do this in CSS with the @page properties. I've tried the examples from the w3c site but to no avail. Does anyone have any code that definitely works for internet explorer? Thanks, Dave. I am trying to copy a pdf, and it is imperitive that the pages match up: page 1 on the pdf is page 1 on the html file when printed and so on. I am using font 12pt sizes. if it prints out correctly on my computer will it print out correctly on all since I am using the pt instead of something relative like ? if this will not work for all then does anyone have any recomendations on how to do it? Hi , I am trying to print my html page in the landscape mode.I should print this automatically in landscape mode with css orientation landscape. i am using the below code to print all tables in my html page in landscape mode @page rotated { size : landscape } table { page : rotated } Its not working . Is this write or wrong? Is there any other way to do it. Thanks, Im deriving a list of photos with information from my database. I want to be able to print the webpage off without any of the information being broken up between pages. Since its coming from the database I cant just use page breaks cause then I get one image per page. Is there a solution to this? Hi there, I'm completely new to CSS. I'm trying to do this more than one hour but can't get it right. Code: I couldn't find the equivalent of this in CSS This is my last experiment but it doesn't seem to work either Code: fontstyle { color : #FFFFFF; font-family : verdana ; font-size :1;} Thanks I could see this as potentially being really easy to do or really hard to do. I'm hoping for the former. Suppose I have 3 divs, A, B, C and that I want the total width of A + B + C to equal the width of the screen. Suppose also that I want them to be inline. How can I have B to be a fixed width while A and C expand depending on the screen width (such that the width of A = the width of C)? So when using Netscape 7.2 & Opera 7.5 and MSIE 6.0, How do you get a simple tag like body { font-size:small; } to be equal in all browsers? Setting IE Text Size to Medium, and Opera's Zoom to 100% (both defaults) and Netscape 7.2 to 120% (not the default) is one way, but is there a CSS way? By the way, the child element hack "body>div {property}" wasn't working no matter what I tried, by not working I mean to say Netscape never would read it or apply it. It appeared to be that Opera & IE need to read the same value while Netscape needs to apply a larger size to be equal to IE's and Opera's rendering. B Hello, I was wondering how to link to print a single ID without printing anything else... thanx=) Hiya, This page http://www.magikwebs.co.uk/ranch/indian.html wasn't printing too good so I've set up a stylesheet for print only, and it has improved, but it still doesn't quite look right. It leaves a big gap on page 2 and misses a line out. It looks 100% fine in Firefox. I guess it's an IE bug. Anyone know what it is and how to avoid it? Thanks, John I have a page that displays text of an article. It's all contained in a
, of course. I'd like the "Print" option the allow the user to print out just the article, and not the rest of the crap on the page (ads, navigation, so on.) I know vaguely that you can have alternate style sheets for printing and other types of display, but how to include just the text in the output? Hi ! I've read that it's possible with CSS to adapt the visual style of a web page on the output medium. If I didn't understand that completely wrong, it means that with CSS I can format a String like "Hello World" to give him font size 10 in my browser and font size 20 if i print the page. Is this correct ? Does someone of you habe any kind of coding example therefore ? That would be great TIA Gawan Aaaah! another problem... now i have 2 divs, left one floated, and right one set that it's left margine distances him from left div. when i print that page from FF it's ok, but when i try to print it from IE it looks like left one isn't floating - divs are one beneath other (right one shifted to right for that margin value). what now? thanks Has anyone seen a template somewhere that can help style a page for printing to an index card? Thanks, James Hi folks, I am working on online reporting system and was wondering if anyone could help me. The report searches through 25000 records to show a report of profit and costing etc, the problem I am having is when the client wants to print the report off they want a logo at the top of every page, the report is always different sizes depending on the search criteria they enter so Is there a way in php I can print the long report out with a header at the top of every printed page. I hope this makes sense and thanks to anyone whoe replies. LMD Is there a way to forcefully print the background of a table cell? I am generating an attendance list, and it would be kinda nice if it would print the backgrounds, just a simple grey shading to seperate the lines. On our new test site for our colleges online catalog I've been charged with trying to fix an issue we are having with some versions of Netscape on some PC's(not mac) where our CSS printing style isn't working....We can't pin point what causes the problem and some pages have the error and others do not, some pages print fine in 7.1 and not 7.2 or 8.1 (in 7.2/8.1 almost everything longer than one page in depth does not print properly) and its really nerve racking. If anyone has experienced a similar problem or knows of a possible solution I would be eternally in thier debt. The link is http://www.ramapo.edu/test/catalog_06_07/ and the pages that have print problems in netscape are generally longer than a page in depth are mostly major requirements pages like. http://www.ramapo.edu/test/catalog_06_07/academicPrograms/TAS/iss_req_major.html When the problem occurs the printer will usually print a blank page with just the url and date (header/footer) or will print nothing but 1 or 2 blank pages with the url/date and this can be seen in preview (no need to waste paper). Here is what it looks like when it properly prints: http://phobos.ramapo.edu/~chdonnel/properprinting.jpg Here is what it looks like when netscape masacres it: http://phobos.ramapo.edu/~chdonnel/badprinting.jpg Thanks in advance, Chris I have decided to develop CSS to style my web pages for printing. So far I am getting the results I desire from Firefox 2.0. However I am having an issue with IE 6. If your open the following page in IE: cambridgema.gov/cdd/test/faq_test.html Go to print preview, move to the second print page and scroll to the bottom you will see that the page break splits a single line of text between two printed pages. Any suggestions about how to stop this? Thanks Cliff Hey there, I have a page to print a discount card - and if it is on one page there print preview works great. (ex. http://www.rxclubcard.com/your_card.php ) However, if i try to put 5 cards sequentially, and then look at the print preview, after the first page of cards the 2nd and third pages do not show the cards and the print gets screwed up. I am running a for loop just to print 5 table rows. Why does this happen? (ex. http://www.rxclubcard.com/5cards.php ) I would appreciate any help! Thanks guys Hey guys, I'm working on a website and I have been notified by the client that the page does not print correctly in IE. Prints just fine in Mozilla however. I tested this and sure enough it cuts off the rightmost 100 or so pixels. The entire page exists in a table that is centered and set to be 729 pixels wide. I tried attaching an extra stylesheet: Code:
but that has no effect. Even when I use the other stylesheet to move the content to the top left corner of the page with no borders, it still prints the page centered and lops off the rightmost 100 or so pixels. Any ideas? (telling them to print in another browser is not an option unfortunately) |
