Quote: http://www.exigeinternational.com/index.htm i mean that the i want to create the effect that that site has when the page is minimised,i want each side to get smaller instead of everything moving to the left. sorry if it sounds confusing. appeciate all help thanks andy Similar Tutorialsplease see following code. (i want myHeight becomes dynamis, that mean when user resize the browser, it will be changed automatic w/o refresh the page). thank you. waitting online for the answer. <html> <head> </head> <body > <table> <tr><td>tasd</td></tr> <tr><td> <script type="text/javascript"> var myWidth = 0, myHeight = 0; if( typeof( window.innerWidth ) == 'number' ) { //Non-IE myWidth = window.innerWidth; myHeight = window.innerHeight; } else if( document.documentElement && ( document.documentElement.clientWidth || document.documentElement.clientHeight ) ) { //IE 6+ in 'standards compliant mode' myWidth = document.documentElement.clientWidth; myHeight = document.documentElement.clientHeight; } else if( document.body && ( document.body.clientWidth || document.body.clientHeight ) ) { //IE 4 compatible myWidth = document.body.clientWidth; myHeight = document.body.clientHeight; } //var height = myHeight *.8; document.writeln("<div style='HEIGHT:" + myHeight *.8 + "; WIDTH:100%; OVERFLOW:auto'>"); //return height; </script> <table> <tr><td> msg </td></tr> </table> </div> <td> msg </td> </table> </body> </html> Hi I don't know if this is a CSS issue, but how do you allow limit the movement of web pages when you drag IE window. So if its fixed it can be structured so that it can be seen by users who have a resolution of 800 X 600. And if its not fixed, then the page is stretched when you enlarge the window. Cheers Hello I am trying to fix my links so they remain in the same place regardless of how large the users window is when they browse the site. I have tried using the following code in my style sheet. h3 { position:absolute; bottom:330px; top:670px; } but the link still moves around when you minimise the browser on the site. Bear in mind I have a think black border as well which runs all around the screen. Any help would be much appreciated. Hi all I am using a style sheet with the print media type to controll how my site looks when it is printed out. It works very well the only problem being that I have <div>s which make boxes for the content and I would like for the boxes to not get split upon diffrent pages. Idealy I would like to make it so that if the the <div> is going to split over two pages it just gets put at the start of the next page. This probaly isn't possiable but you never know. Any Ideas would be helpfull Nick Carlevaris Page looks fine on my screen but when i resize window-divs overlap or in some cases just text runs on top of other divs messed up. Do I need to set all my width-height values and margins to auto? Margins in my wrap are auto. What are common causes of this? heres my css-its kinda a potpourri Code: #wrap {width:70%; min-width:700px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; } #headertop {background:url(gradient.png); height:40px; } #header {background:url(black.png); height:70px; } .title {float:left; margin:5px; } #menu {float:right; margin-top:30px; margin-right:20px;} .link {float:left; margin-top:8px; margin-left:5px; background:url(gradient.png); border-right:1px solid black; height:auto; width:auto; padding:5px; text-align:center; font-family:Lucida Grande; padding-right:3px; margin-bottom:0px; border-top:1px solid grey; } #floatright {float:right; width:400px; margin:0px; padding-left:10px; border-left:2px double grey; height:350px; background:#000000; } .nav {float:left; height:400px; padding-right:10px; padding-top:50px; } .txt {padding-left:10px;} #bottom{background:#000000; height:10px; margin-top:0px; border:2px solid black;} #content { border:1px solid grey; background:#fffbe9; } .floatl{float:left;} #testarea { padding-top:25px; padding:10px; min-height:330px; background:#ffffff; border-left:1px solid grey; } #testareaalt { width:auto; padding-top:25px; padding:10px; min-height:330px; height:auto; background:#000000; border-left:1px solid grey; } .area {background:url(background.png); height:30px; } .button {width:100px; height:25px; border:1px solid black; background:grey; padding:8px; display:block; } .top {background:000000; height:15px; } h3 {font-family:Sans-serif; background:url(gradient.png); padding:5px; } h4 {font-family:Sans-serif; background:url(black.png); padding:5px; margin:0px; color:#ffffff; } h4.g {font-family:Sans-serif; background:url(black.png); padding:5px; margin:0px; color:#00af33; } p {font-family:verdana; line-height:15px; font-size:13px; padding-left:10px; padding-right:10px; color:7d7d7d;} ul {font-family:verdana; line-height:15px; font-size:13px; padding-left:40px; padding-right:10px; color:7d7d7d;} table {border-collapse:collapse; padding:5px; font-family:verdana; line-height:15px; font-size:13px; padding-left:10px; padding-right:10px; color:7d7d7d; } table.social {border-collapse:collapse; padding:10px; margin:5px; background:url(gradient.png); } } td.alt {background:grey; } #textbox { border:1px solid grey; background:url(black.png);} #menutrial {float:right; margin-right:0px;} .left {float:left; margin:10px; clear:left;} .container{margin:8px;} a:link, a:visited { color: #cc0033; padding:5px; text-decoration: none; font-family:Sans-serif; } a:hover, a:active { /*background-color: #C74350;*/ color: #ffffff; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: 1px 1px 1px #33ff00; font-family:Sans-serif; } #textboxa{ border:1px solid grey; background:#000000;} img.alt {margin-left:90px; margin-right:auto; width:70%; border:0px; } #right{float:right;} I have just moved to working with layers as opposed tables/cells. Previously i had a table with three cells, at 86%, 4%, and 16% widths so it spanned the screen. The first cell's content only partly fills the cell, so when the browser is resized (made smaller), each cell stays on the same line and the table happily resize to the point where it can no longer get smaller before it wraps text I have tried to replicate this using 3 div's of the same width as the cells, with float left, however, the browser can hardly be resized at all from full screen without the third div moving onto the next line. If i make the 2nd and third divs larger it works slightly better, however the content does not look right in the layers Therefore can anyone point out how i might be able to achieve better DIV resize when the browser resizes please. Thanks very much Ed Hi everyone, Having some problems with CSS printing. I am trying to get a webpage to print in B4, no print margins, no header or footer. There is supposively a way to do this in CSS with the @page properties. I've tried the examples from the w3c site but to no avail. Does anyone have any code that definitely works for internet explorer? Thanks, Dave. I have a problem with this site - shop dot meenola dot com (Sorry - i am a new member and therefore cannot post a proper URL) - In FF the page is always scrollable to the right although there is nothing there and as far as i can tell the HTML ends in the initially viewable area. Not usually a problem for most - but using a macbook scrollpad, you tend to fly "offscreen" rather easily. Have tested in Chrome, IE, Opera and Safari - all of which display correctly (The page ends when the HTML does). Any ideas? Thanks /Adam Hi, Here's the site I'm working with: http://www.cjfusion.com I want to get that image centered on the browser window and then depending on how big the viewers screen is, the browser will cover up the left and the right. I hope that makes sense. I almost want it to be fluid, but I'm unsure how to do that. Ask questions if this doesnt make sense. Its hard to explain. -CJ i have a base page that i use for a multi-page site, but i'd like to be able to insert more and more content, and have the page size accordingly. i think the problem is that the content is technically floating...or something, it's a cold fusion search result in a cart. i don't know, i might be asking for a miracle here- if you have an idea, let me know. Hello: I am building a website for a broad audience. I need there to be an option for text to be resized for those who have trouble with reading screens. I am trying to have the text on HTML pages be changeable through CSS. Two examples I offer are (URL address blocked: See forum rules) and (URL address blocked: See forum rules) On the top right corner of the screen, there are options to change the text size without switching to a new HTML page. I believe this is done using CSS (perhaps Live StyleSheet Selector). I'm not really sure. If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it. Thanks! Deanna I am trying to copy a pdf, and it is imperitive that the pages match up: page 1 on the pdf is page 1 on the html file when printed and so on. I am using font 12pt sizes. if it prints out correctly on my computer will it print out correctly on all since I am using the pt instead of something relative like <font size=3>? if this will not work for all then does anyone have any recomendations on how to do it? Hi there, I'm completely new to CSS. I'm trying to do this more than one hour but can't get it right. Code: <font color='white'><font size='1' face=verdana size=1> I couldn't find the equivalent of this in CSS This is my last experiment but it doesn't seem to work either Code: fontstyle { color : #FFFFFF; font-family : verdana ; font-size :1;} Thanks I could see this as potentially being really easy to do or really hard to do. I'm hoping for the former. Suppose I have 3 divs, A, B, C and that I want the total width of A + B + C to equal the width of the screen. Suppose also that I want them to be inline. How can I have B to be a fixed width while A and C expand depending on the screen width (such that the width of A = the width of C)? So when using Netscape 7.2 & Opera 7.5 and MSIE 6.0, How do you get a simple tag like body { font-size:small; } to be equal in all browsers? Setting IE Text Size to Medium, and Opera's Zoom to 100% (both defaults) and Netscape 7.2 to 120% (not the default) is one way, but is there a CSS way? By the way, the child element hack "body>div {property}" wasn't working no matter what I tried, by not working I mean to say Netscape never would read it or apply it. It appeared to be that Opera & IE need to read the same value while Netscape needs to apply a larger size to be equal to IE's and Opera's rendering. B Hi , I am trying to print my html page in the landscape mode.I should print this automatically in landscape mode with css orientation landscape. i am using the below code to print all tables in my html page in landscape mode @page rotated { size : landscape } table { page : rotated } Its not working . Is this write or wrong? Is there any other way to do it. Thanks, Hello, I have a cool jquery rollover script. But I have a problem with the CSS. The CSS for the script has an IMG tag to line the images up correctly. However, when I add the the script and it's CSS to my website, the IMG tag tells ALL images on website to go to the top left corner, and not stay where I originally placed them. Is there a way to modify the IMG tag in the script's CSS so that it only applies to the images in the script and not to affect the other images on my webpage? Here is my code: Code: <html> <head> <title>Untitled</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.2.6.pack.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { $('.blocks').hover(function() { $(this).children('.front').stop().animate({ "top" : '300px'}, 700); }, function() { $(this).children('.front').stop().animate({ "top" : '0'}, 400); }); }); </script> <style type="text/css"> #three { width: 850px; text-align: center; margin: auto; } .blocks { width: 250px; height: 140px; position: relative; overflow: hidden; float: left; padding: 0 1em; } img { position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; } </style> </head> <body> <div id="three"> <a href="http://www.google.com" class="blocks"> <img src="http://www.loriandersondesigns.com/jquery_8%202/back.jpg" alt="image" border="0"/> <img src="http://www.loriandersondesigns.com/jquery_8%202/front.jpg" alt="image" class="front" border="0"/></a> </div> <p><a href="http://www.google.com" class="blocks"> <img src="http://www.loriandersondesigns.com/jquery_8%202/back.jpg" alt="image" border="0"/> <img src="http://www.loriandersondesigns.com/jquery_8%202/front.jpg" alt="image" class="front" border="0"/> </a> <a href="http://www.google.com" class="blocks"> <img src="http://www.loriandersondesigns.com/jquery_8%202/back.jpg" alt="image" border="0"/> <img src="http://www.loriandersondesigns.com/jquery_8%202/front.jpg" alt="image" class="front" border="0"/></a> </div> </div> </body> </html> Thanks for listening!
