CSS - Inserting Google Ads Into Dynamic Content
Hi everyone,
I wasn't sure if I could do this with CSS or if I'd need to do something in my PHP to get this working. If it's not CSS, please could the mods move this to the PHP forum. So here's my problem: I have a site, www.geeknews.co.za, which is an article site that I want google adsense to run in. The problem is that the articles are inserted from the database dynamically, and I don't know how to add the google tags so that it doesn't appear after the article has finished. The page on geeknews.co.za is a static page. Just so you can see what I'm going for. Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks Similar TutorialsI'm using the default theme in WordPress and I want to keep the double arrow (>>) for bullet lists that come by default but I need to style those out in some instances. This is the code that brings it in. Code: .entry ul li:before { content: "\00BB \0020"; } Now, here's a case where I'm trying to remove any list style: Code: .entry .BioInfo ul li:before { content:none; } This works in Firefox and IE8 but not much else. How can I override the default in browsers like Chrome and output no list styling? Hi there, I have a content glider script, but I have added it to a wrapper with a background image. The css is using a white background colour so when a new layer is glided up, it covers the one underneath it. However, I want the background to be transparent to show the background image underneath.... If I remove the white background, they layers become transparent and overlay each other, so you can see all text in the layers on top of each other making it impossible to read. Is there anyway I can make it so it has a transparent background, but so it will not show the content under the new slide? This is my CSS: PHP Code: .glidecontentwrapper{ position: relative; /* Do not change this value */ height: 230px; /* Set height to be able to contain height of largest content shown*/ overflow: hidden; } /* Total wrapper width: 350px+5px+5px=360px Or width of wrapper div itself plus any left and right CSS border and padding Adjust related containers below according to comments */ .glidecontent{ /*style for each glide content DIV within wrapper.*/ position: absolute; /* Do not change this value */ background: white; visibility: hidden; width: 330px; } /* Total glidecontent width: 330px+10px+10px=350px Or width of wrapper div itself (not counting wrapper border/padding) */ .glidecontenttoggler{ /*style for DIV used to contain toggler links. */ width: 360px; margin-top: 6px; text-align: center; /*How to align pagination links: "left", "center", or "right" background: white; /*always declare an explicit background color for fade effect to properly render in IE*/ } Any help would be great! Thanks. Well I managed to find a partial solution by adding "clear" to the "statusDiv" like so: Code: .statusDiv { clear: both background-image: url(../png/disclosure_triangles/blue_block.png); height: 20px; margin-bottom: 1px; } This kicks sibling divs onto their own line (which is what I wanted) but the spacing between divs is 2 pixels and I can't seem to find any combination of padding, margins etc to get the spacing down to one pixel. Does anyone know of a way to control the inter-div spacing when "clear" is defined? Thanks Ken --------------------------------------------------------------- Original post --------------------------------------------------------------- I'm trying to make a few divs to create the same basic functionality as an outline (with disclosure triangles etc...) and am having alignment problems. The first row renders perfectly but the text of subsequent rows overlaps the text of first row. Here's the html: Code: <div id="contentBlock" class="bodyText"> <div class='statusDiv'> <div class='disclosureCollapsed'></div> <div class="disclosureDivLabel">New</div> </div> <div class='statusDiv'> <div class='disclosureCollapsed'></div> <div class="disclosureDivLabel">Open</div> </div> </div> And here's the CSS: Code: #contentBlock { position: absolute; top: 130px; left: 200px; height: 101%; /* Hack to force vertical scroll bars */ right: 280px; min-width: 400px; visibility: visible; display: block; } .statusDiv { clear: both background-image: url(../png/disclosure_triangles/blue_block.png); height: 20px; margin-bottom: 1px; } .disclosureCollapsed { background-image: url(../png/disclosure_triangles/blue_collapsed_wide.png); display: block; text-align: right; /*position: absolute;*/ float: left; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 18px; height: 20px; } .disclosureCollapsed:hover { cursor: pointer; } How would I make the text in each subsequent row (statusDiv) line up? Thanks for any help Ken Hi, I need some help inserting a Logo before my site Header. i'm do not know much about CSS as my former designer put this together and am now left in the lurch inserting my company logo. this is the current masthead code #masthead { padding:0; margin:12px 0 24px 0; height: 30px; position: relative; display:block; clear:both } #masthead h2, #branding h2 { float:left; text-transform:capitalize; margin:0; padding:0 } #masthead h2 a, #branding h2 a { color:#fff } #masthead .description, #branding .description { float:left; color:#999; margin: 10px 12px; padding-left:12px; border-left: 1px solid #999; font-size:11px } would appreciate anyone if you could help me with the code to insert a logo before the Title. Thanks! Hi, Was wondering if there was any possible way to insert text into a webpage using CSS. I have a website created with over 200 pages so far, and the people I'm creating it for all of a sudden decided that they want a line at the bottom of each page stating their name. I have a CSS created for the background and I was wondering if I could insert a line in that sheet that would add the text to all pages. Is it possible or am I just dreaming? LOL. I'm trying to avoid having to go through all those pages doing copy/paste..hehe. If this is not possible, any other ideas or help of any kind would be appreciated. Thanks, Christa I took an example from w3.org (shown below) and it doesn't work. From http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-content/ Quote: 4.2.2. Inserting multiple '::before' and '::after' pseudo-elements In contrast with the previous section, the selector '::before(2)' represents a pseudo-element before another, both of which are contained at the start of an element. For example, the following rules: div { content: 'A' } div::before { content: 'B'; } div::before(2) { content: 'C'; } ...would result in the following rendering objects: ,-----------------------. | ,---. ,---. | | | C | | B | A | | `---' `---' | `-----------------------' The '::before' selector is exactly equivalent to '::before(1)'. A pseudo-element only exists if all the elements and pseudo-elements leading up to it exist. For instance, in the following example, only one pseudo-element is generated, the first one: div { content: 'A' } div::before { content: 'B'; } div::before(2) { content: inhibit; } div::before(3) { content: 'C'; } It would result in the following rendering objects: ,-----------------------. | ,---. | | | B | A | | `---' | `-----------------------' So my code is Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>Test Page</title> <style type="text/css" media="screen"> div { content: 'A' } div::before { content: 'B'; } div::before(2) { content: 'C'; } </style> </head> <body> <div>Test Div</div> </body> </html> And the output is "BTest Div". Firefox error console comes up with Quote: Warning: Function token for non-function pseudo-class or pseudo-element, or the other way around, when reading 'before'. Ruleset ignored due to bad selector. Line: 10 I get a similar error when I validate it with W3.org using CSS level 3 Quote: 10 div Parse Error div::before(2) { content: 'C'; } I just find it odd because I copied the example off of their site and then when I validate it the code comes back as invalid. Any ideas? Hi, was wondering if someone could please enlight me on this. Im creating what look like MS Word doc pages for a site and I would like to have it such that the body content div remains the same distance from the top and bottom of its container div regardless of whether header or footer divs are inserted into the same container div. How would I achieve this? Shall I use z-index in the .header and .footer classes and make them higher than the z-index of the .body class so as to stop them from affecting the margin of the body content div? Thanks in advance. http://www.hybridillusions.com/wordpress/?m=200712 Still working on it, but something caught me and I'm clueless. See, I'm still learning Tableless CSS, and well... I'm not sure how to have it so that the content doesn't run over the footer like that. As it should be more like... http://www.hybridillusions.com/wordpress/ For CSS reference, here is where the css file is located: http://www.hybridillusions.com/wordpress/wp-content/themes/simplistic/style.css Thanks in advance! I thought it might have been carriage returns, but it's not. For some reason, Textwrangler is showing either question marks (for firefox for windows) or little boxes (for IE for windows). The problem isn't happening for Safari or FF for mac. I can't figure out what it is. the site Hello, I have recently intergrated Google Maps (via its API) onto my site, but have a little problem, the balloon pop-ups can not seem to contain the text in its entirety: Example 1 I am sure this relates to something which is incorrect with my CSS (possibly padding) but at present I can't get anything to work. The problem persists in Firefox, Opera and IE (although IE crashes when this page has loaded!). Any ideas guys? Hi, my site looks good in all browsers, PC and Mac, except Google Chrome. Here's the site:site Do I need to write a CSS exception for Google Chrome? thanks I'm trying to create a page layout for a Bing Maps application using css and html. I'd like to create a layout similar to http://maps.google.com I have a bar at the very top of the page 25px high, a header 90px high, a left column 270px wide and the rest of the page, or the right column is the Bing Map. Currently, the map fills the width to the edge of the page as I'd like it to, however, I can't get the height to do the same. I have to set a px height for the div containing the map, which is fine, but when viewed in a different browser or with different screen resolution, the scroll bar appears and you have to scroll down to see the full map. Does anyone have any idea how google's managed to have the map height equal to the window height minus the header, etc? I hope this makes sense. Many thanks |
