Brad I have a collection of floating divs contained inside a container div. The floating divs are generated dynamically so they could number from one to whatever. The problem I'm having is that when there are too many floating divs, the container elements width is exceeded and the remaing floating divs display below the rest. How can i make the container div expand infinitely depending on it's content? I tried using the overflow properties but didn't have any luck plus such a solution looks ugly in my app. Thanks for any help you can give me. For some reason (therefore contradicting my thread title) the horizontal scroll bar keeps popping up on my site. I've gone through and checked the width of all my divs and everything seems to be checking out. Here is the site university square condos (dot) com Any idea where I could be going wrong? Hi, I own a Web Hosting company, though despite my knowledge of CSS coding, I cannot for the life of me find out what CSS script is causing a problem on my site. If you visit my site, dim-wit.com, you'll see that there is a horizontal bar at the bottom of the page. I can't get rid of it. If you can help, any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance. Gday CSS PPL, Im still yet to test on other browers, but im using IE 6.0 while the explorer is full screen the width of my div is 100% But when i resize the browser on the horizontal untill a horizontal scroll bar appear, and scroll to the right, the div cuts off where the scrolling begins, div.banner { background-image: url(../images/banner_repeat.gif); width:100%; height:163px; text-align:center; } and yeah, the background image 'banner_repeat' stops repeating at that point. any help would be great, Thx in advance, James Hello, I have a table with two columns and I want it a certain distance from the left side and right side. The distance on the left is a lot more than the right. I added a margin to it and it pushed it off the screen to cause a horizontal scroll. I tried putting a width on the table, but it wouldn't work for some reason and then tried a negative and positive margin on the right side with no avail. I am stuck. Any ideas on how to negate the pussing of a margin? I am lost on how to stop the website pages from showing the scroll option. I don't want the scrolls in the middle of the website. Just want the to be normal. Please help! caligrafx.com/clients/haugenroof/ Thanks, Adam I've defined three classes in this page but now I can't scroll down to the end of the page. the vertical scroll bars are missing. why is that? Hi, I had this working but somehow it's not working again. The problem I am having is that scroll bars are showing up in my iframe in Firefox, Opera, and Safari, but not IE7 and IE6. Thanks. Hi all, Is it possible to automatically scroll the scrollbar to the bottom in the css. This is how you do it in html: var objDiv = document.getElementById("leftHand"); objDiv.scrollTop = objDiv.scrollHeight; Regards, Stephen If you look at this web site http://www.mobilvox.com/ you can see when the screen is smaller than what they designed for the scrollbars come into the window and it scrolls. I've been using the code below, and I can't seem to get the same behavoir. Code: /**/ html, body { margin: 0; padding: 0; background-color:#000033; } body { font: 100%/1.25 verdana, arial, sans-serif; color: black; background-color: #eef; overflow: auto; } p { font-size: 1em; margin-bottom: 0; } p + p { text-indent: 1em; margin-top: 0; } #header { color: #000000; background-color: #fff; overflow: auto; /*encloses float children see http://garyblue.port5.com/webdev/floatdemo.html */ text-align: center; } #header ul { list-style: none; margin: 0; padding: 0; } #headermenu1 { float: left; text-align: right; margin-left: 2px; display: inline; /*this is a fix for IE's doubled float margin bug*/ } #headermenu2 { float: right; text-align: left; margin-right: 100px; display: inline; /*same as above*/ } #global { margin:0 auto; width:500px; text-align: left; } can someone point out the problem. - Thanks - Kris Hi All I'm trying to insert a scroll bar in a
section of my webpage but I'm having a few problems with it. In this section I have the background set to an image I created in Photoshop. It's just a plain white rectangle with rounded corners. The problem I'm having is the scroll bar is displayed outside of this area also the scroll goes right from the top to the bottom so it cuts off the rounded corners. Is there any way to have the scroll bar on the inside and inset just every so slighty?? I'm using css overflow:scroll. I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance. How do I create div that shows vertical scroll bar if div id="content_area" is too big? Code:

some text here

I'm trying to ensure the absence of the horizontal scroll bar within a div for all browsers. Is there a solution? overflow: -moz-scrollbars-vertical !important; only works in FF, but this is the effect I want. overflow-x and overflow-y only work in IE6 and below (right?), so does anyone know what to do for ie7 and safari and opera? The title is kind of hard to understand. Basically my website is perfectly in line when you have a scroll bar on the side of the screen, but when you don't things come out of line and you can notice breaks in the background. I'm not really sure whats causing this, any help would be appreciated. Here is a link to the test site: Link |
