CSS - Changing Image Border Color
How can I use CSS to specify the color I want for the image borders on the page?
Similar Tutorialsi am trying to get rid of the border in IE9 or have the border color to match with the background color so that it doesn't look like there is one. This code works on google chrome but doesn't work on IE9. on the css i have: div.menu ul li a, div.menu ul li a:visited { background-color:#3a4f63; border: 1px #4e667d solid; color: #dde4ec; display: block; line-height: 1.35em; padding: 4px 20px; text-decoration: none; white-space: nowrap; border-color:#3a4f63; } on the asp page I have: <asp:Menu ID="NavigationMenu" runat="server" CssClass="menu" EnableViewState="false" IncludeStyleBlock="false" Orientation="Horizontal"> <Items> <asp:MenuItem Text="About Us"> </asp:MenuItem> <asp:MenuItem Text="Freight Services" Value="Freight Services"></asp:MenuItem> <asp:MenuItem Selectable="False"></asp:MenuItem> <asp:MenuItem Selectable="False"></asp:MenuItem> <asp:MenuItem Selectable="False"></asp:MenuItem> <asp:MenuItem Selectable="False"></asp:MenuItem> <asp:MenuItem Selectable="False"></asp:MenuItem> <asp:MenuItem Selectable="False"></asp:MenuItem> <asp:MenuItem Selectable="False"></asp:MenuItem> <asp:MenuItem Selectable="False"></asp:MenuItem> <asp:MenuItem Text="Customers" Value="Customers"></asp:MenuItem> <asp:MenuItem Selectable="False" Text="Carrier Corner" Value="Carrier Corner"> <asp:MenuItem Text="Carrier Setup" Value="Carrier Setup" NavigateUrl="~/Account/Register.aspx?ReturnUrl=~/Carrier.aspx&TypeOfUser=Carrier"></asp:MenuItem> </asp:MenuItem> <asp:MenuItem Text="Contact Us" Value="Contact Us"></asp:MenuItem> </Items> </asp:Menu> I'm building a site (still sort of a novice) using CSS and I can't seem to get the border colors to display correctly. I would like the top-border to be the same color as right and left. When viewed in Dreamweaver, the border appears orange but when viewed in browser, the border is black. How do I get the top border to be orange? Here is my CSS: Code: #right_body { width: 708px; float: left; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; display: inline; border-top: 3px; border-top-style: solid; border-top-color: FF6A00; border-left: 2px; border-left-style: solid; border-left-color: #FF6A00; border-right: 2px; border-right-style: solid; border-right-color: #FF6A00; } And my HTML: Code: <div id="left_side">left</div> <div id="right_body"> middle </div> <div id="right_side">right</div> Like many programmers I use a combination of a bunch of different things to provide me the website I want. I use php, css, sql . . . more than one thing. I have a utility written in '04 by Patrick Fitzgerald (http://www.barelyfitz.com/projects/csscolor/) I use on almost every site I code. I don't put it in the page, I put it in the css file like this: Code: <?php header("Content-type: text/css"); include_once("../inc/csscolor.php"); include('inc/settings.inc'); $basea = new CSS_Color($darka); $baseb = new CSS_Color($darkb); ?> Then in the css I use something like Code: .cart_button { border:1px solid #<?= $baseb->bg['+2']; ?>; padding:2 4; background-color:<?= $baseb->bg['+3']; ?>; color:black; margin-bottom:-6; } #basket { float:right; width:140px; border:1px solid <?= $baseb->bg['+3']; ?>; padding:10px; } td.cart, th.cart { border:1px solid <?= $baseb->bg['+3']; ?>; padding:6px; } to display the color of elements. So here's my conundrum. I have elements with borders that aren't displaying. I'm pretty sure it's a compatibility issue. It renders in IE but not in FF. Thoughts? HeadElf Greetings I hope the title wasn't too confusing. If not this is sure to be. What I have is and Unordered List that has a heading in each List Item and then a few items under that. The List Items are links arranged in a grid that have a hover effect on mouseover. Due to the colors I want the heading (in this case h2) in each li to change color on the a:hover (the hover over anywhere on each li, not just over the h2 text). How can I achieve this? Here is some code to (hopefully) clarify: Code: #lower { width: 765px; float: left; margin-top: 10px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 10px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 20px; padding-left: 0px; } #lower ul { width: 775px; list-style-type: none; margin: 0; padding: 0px; } #lower ul li { font-family: "Trebuchet MS"; font-size: 14px; width: 250px; float: left; } #lower ul li a { text-decoration: none; display: block; height: 125px; color: #262626; } #lower ul li a:hover { background-color: #5B8C3E; color: #D9D9D9; } #lower h2 { font-family: "Trebuchet MS"; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; color: #262626; } #lower a h2:hover { color: #D9CE3F; } As is the h2 only changes when it is directly hovered, not the the li. Thanks in advance for your help. Ok I simply cannot figure this one out. All I'm trying to do is change the font color so that the text like "Choose a Username" is not black but white. Hi, How to change the background color of textbox in css, so that negative numbers can be shown in red color I have multiple textbox in my asp page, which gets values from database. So there is a negative value shown, I want to highlight that in red color. How to achieve this? Thank you Is there a way to tell the browser not to change the color of a visited link? I have an anchor around some text, but I don't know the color setting of the text. When I visit the link, I just want the text to retain its color based on the other CSS declarations in effect for the text. So, is there a way to specify a:visited { color: do-not-change; }? I have a problem with applying a style for tableborders that is needed at the client I work at. The client works with IE6 / IE7 only. In a portlet (JSF) content is loaded into a table that is automatically generated on the basis of CSS. The "house-style" in this company for using tables is set to the following: - The outer borders for the table are not visible - The border under the top-row is orange (#F60) - The borders under all other rows are grey (#808080) - The vertical borders are all orange (#F60) An example of what I mean is seen here (sketch from MS paint, poor quality and wrong colors!!!) : URL Anyone with suggestions on how to tackle this? I have found one solution that seems to work, but as soon as I change it (size, nr of rows etc) the right border shows again. I do not fully understand the code and there are no comments added. The data and button are created in PHP so it looks something like: Code: <div class="column3"> <div class="padding"> <?php if( $this->countModules('right') ): ?> <jdoc:include type="modules" name="right" style="xhtml" /> <?php endif; ?> </div> And css for that part of the page is: Code: #index .box .column3 {width:252px;} Okay, so I'm having a little bit of a problem with setting the background color through an onClick event on an option tag. Here is what I mean. Code: <div id = "move"> <form name = form2> <span style="float:left;"> <select name= theDay size=1> <option value=0 selected>Default [themes] <option value=1>White</option> <option value=2 onClick = "red()">Light Blue</option> <option value=3>Aqua <option value=4 value = "document.body.style.backgroundColor= '#98AFC7';">Lighter Blue</option> <option value=5 onClick = "document.body.style.backgroundColor= 'white';">Saturday</option> <option value=6 onClick = "document.body.style.backgroundColor= 'white';">Sunday</option> </select> When I click one of the options, nothing changes, although I set the body.style.backgroundColor to register to a different color when the option tag is clicked. Any ideas? hey, i have a question regarding css on my website: http://poolghost.com/ my css file is located at http://poolghost.com/base.css basically what i am trying to accomplish is having a:hover's color change to a different color on the right side of the layout. and i would like links on the right side to be underlined. please advise.. thanks, --avery hi all. is there a way to change the css border-color attribute of a table with onmouseover? so the table, where the mouse is on, is highlighted in a new color? thanks. j0sh Hi, Please see http://lbclibrary.org/addtoinquiry.php (scroll down a bit to see the form) What I want to do is, when the user selects "I am a member of ..." or "I want to become a member of..." the form fields in the OTHER cell should become readonly (i.e. should not allow input). Is it possible to make ALL the form elements in one <td> cell as readonly? Further, is it possible to change their background colors to say light grey? Then, when you select another radio option, that cell becomes writable and the other cell becomes readonly. Thanks a lot! I am looking for a way (preferably using CSS) to make an I-beam or cursor inside a text field to become invisible. This may be achieved by changing its color to match the bgcolor, by making it invisible altogether, or even simply to get it to stop blinking (when the bg color is black). Any help would be appreciated. currently i have links defined as a certain color and changes to a certain color when i hover over them.. i have a table which has these links inside the cells and when i hover over the cell, the background of the cell changes color but the link wont change color until i hover over the link.. is there anyway so that when i hover over the cell i can make the link change color too? the problem is i have some padding for the cells, so once i go inside the cell but dont hover exactly over the link, the background will change but the link won't until i hover over it thanks Alright, this is probably a simple fix but I can not find the solution anywhere. I'm trying to highlight a table cell with a 2px solid red border when it is clicked. Is there a way to get this to happen with out changing the size of the cell? I hope this makes sense. Basically the cell is expanding by 1 px causing movement in the table. I want white background and a image on 2 sides of this i thought of just added border but can't seem to find out how to get 2 image on the border. Any help would be great. Hi all, How do you put in a image border in the css. I use the following code and it does not seem to work:border-bottom-image:url(../images/borderLeft.bmp); If you can't do this then how do you put 2 borders in the css Stephen |
