CSS - Css Float 100% Height
I have been trying to find a sloution to making a float:right layer for right navigation to have a height of 100% that is nested within a container that is a position:absolute, but everything I have googled for comes up with no help (or things that don't work.)
(see attached pic) Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/1999/REC-html401-19991224/loose.dtd"> <html><head><title>The Shalom Foundation</title> <style type="text/css"> <!-- body { text-align:center; background-color:#666666; margin:0 0 50px 0; /* top right bottom left */ } p{ text-align:justify; font-family:Georgia, "Times New Roman", Times, serif; font-size:20px; line-height:24px; } #mainBox { position:absolute; right:12px; top:9px; padding:0px; width:733px; text-align:left; /* background-color:#999999; */ } #pageHeader{ height:202px; background:url(images/layout/header.jpg) no-repeat top left; padding:0; margin:0; text-indent:-15000px; overflow:hidden; } #nav{ position:absolute; right:546px; top:178px; margin:0; background:url(images/layout/menu.jpg) no-repeat top left; padding:0; margin:0; width:136px; height:302px; overflow:hidden; } #contentHdr{ position:absolute; top:178px; right:125px; /* background-color:#CCCCCC; */ padding:0; margin:0; text-align:right; width:400px; height:38px; overflow:hidden; } #contentTop{ position:absolute; top:220px; right:110px; background:url(images/layout/content_top.gif) top left; padding:0; margin:0; text-indent:-15000px; width:423px; height:28px; overflow:hidden; } #content{ float:right; margin:20px 17px 0 0; /* top right bottom left */ background:url(images/layout/content_bg.gif) top left; padding-left:15px; padding-right:15px; padding-top:0; padding-bottom:0; width:393px; overflow:hidden; } #rightNav{ float:right; background-color:#FFFFFF; padding:0; margin:0; width:93px; height:100%; clear:both; overflow:hidden; } #pageFooter{ float:right; background: url(images/layout/footer_matthew5_14.gif) top left; padding:0; margin:0; width:702px; height:92px; text-indent:-15000px; overflow:hidden; } --> </style> </head> <body> <div id="mainBox"> <div id="pageHeader">The Shalom Foundation</div> <div id="nav">Nav</div> <div id="contentHdr"><table width="100%" height="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr><td valign="middle"><img src="images/layout/hdr_about_us.gif"></td></tr></table></div> <div id="rightNav"><table width="100%" height="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tr><td>rightNav please work</td></tr></table></div> <div id="contentTop"></div> <div id="content"><p>Magnus es, domine, et laudabilis valde: magna virtus tua, et sapientiae tuae non est numerus. et laudare te vult homo, aliqua portio creaturae tuae, et homo circumferens mortalitem suam, circumferens testimonium peccati sui et testimonium, quia superbis resistis: et tamen laudare te vult homo, aliqua portio creaturae tuae.tu excitas, ut laudare te delectet, quia fecisti nos ad te et inquietum est cor nostrum, donec requiescat in te. da mihi, domine, scire et intellegere, utrum sit prius invocare te an laudare te, et scire te prius sit an invocare te. sed quis te invocat nesciens te?</p></div> <div id="contentBottom"></div> <div id="pageFooter">pageFooter</div> </div> </body> </html> Is there a solution to this? Thanks in advance! Similar TutorialsI'm new to css web design and am attempting my first full layout. What I would like to do is have a hanging picture in the upper-righthand corner of the page that overlaps the header and content sections. All is well, until I specify a width or height on the content section. Although it looks fine in Firefox, IE either: a) moves the content section down or b) squishes the content to the side (if <!--<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>--> is in the html) Here's some much-simplified code to illustrate the problem: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8" /> <meta http-equiv="Content-Style-Type" content="text/css" /> <link href="images/style_test.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <title>Sandbox</title> </head> <style type="text/css"> #header { background-color: #cccccc; border: 1px solid #564b47; } #content { background-color: #c6dedf; border: 1px solid #564b47; width: 100%; height: 400px; } #hanging { float: right; background-color: #ccff99; border: 1px solid #564b47; margin: 20px; padding: 0; width: 300px; height: 300px; clear: right; } #footer { background-color: #cccccc; border: 1px solid #564b47; clear: both; } </style> <body> <div id="hanging"><code>#hanging {<br> float: right;<br> background-color: #ccff99;<br> border: 1px solid #564b47;<br> margin: 20px;<br> padding: 0;<br> width: 300px;<br> height: 300px;<br> clear: right;<br> }</code><p>This SHOULD overlap header & content.</p></div> <div id="header"><code>#header {<br> background-color: #cccccc;<br> border: 1px solid #564b47;<br> }</code></div> <div id="content"><code>#content {<br> background-color: #c6dedf;<br> border: 1px solid #564b47;<br> width: 100%; /* hanging doesn't like this */<br> height: 400px; /* or this in IE*/<br> }</code></div> <div id="footer"><code>#footer {<br> background-color: #cccccc;<br> border: 1px solid #564b47;<br> clear: both; }</code></div> </body> </html> Anyone know a work-around or how to fix this? Thanks! I have a container containing two other divs. One is to be a left floating menu, and the other is to be a right floating content area. However, when I place these divs in a container that contains a background, the container won't expand as information is placed in the menu or the content area. My code looks like this. HTML: Code: <div class="blog-container"> <div class="blog-menu"> Some Random Menu </div> <div class="blog-content"> Some Random Content </div> </div> CSS: Code: .blog-container { position: relative; text-align: center; padding-top:15px; width: 925px; background-color: #eeeeee; } .blog-menu { float: left; width: 120px; border: 1px solid blue; } .blog-content { float: right; width: 150px; border: 1px solid red; } I really have no idea why it's doing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hey all... I'm doing some testing in Firefox, and I've encountered a problem. Code: <div style="background-color: #FF9801; height: 33px; width: 99px; text-align: center; display: inline; padding-top: 8px;">Help</div> My intention here is to create a box that is 99px high, 33px wide, and with the text in the middle. In IE6, this appears to be fine. However, when testing it out in FF, I don't get the spacing that I want. Here's the kicker: When I add the float element, (float: left), it comes out the way I want it to. But it does seem to add a bit of whitespace above and to the left of it. I don't want the whitespace! Can anyone help with a compromise that will work in both browsers? My CSS usage has been pretty light until up to this issue. Thanks in advance! I tried to use height:auto, and put it into the main container, then I put it in the div that is floated. Nothing works in firefox for me. Ive tried searching on google but I cant find anything that works. Basically, its not just an issue with floats, in general, what is the correct way to set divs, to auto expand to cover what is inside and that works in IE, Firefox and safari, is there a way to ? Thanks in advanced. subject isn't too good anyhow.. i have 4 cells __ __ |1 | |2 | --- --- __ __ |3| |4 | --- --- 2 and 4 are said to float right, such that 1 and 3 define the height of the page.. but.. when the contents of 2 go LONGER than the contents of 1, number 4 doesn't float right properly.. instead this happens __ __ |1 | |2 | --- | | --- | | |4| --- --- __ |3| --- do you see that? 4 tries to float right, but since it's called underneath 1, and 2 is extended, floating right relative to the page doesn't make it ACTUALLY float right any thoughts that will render this properly? (namely that cells 1 and 3 will inherit the height of 2 and 4 somehow?) Hi There - Am converting another design from tables, working with a CMS (Drupal) and an existing CSS / table combination that I didn't write and have no choice about. Think of the header as having three sections. The top section has logo on the left, search box on the right. Rounded corners. I'm cool with that section. Then there's a space. Created a div for the space. Love the space. Problems with the space in IE. Will go into it later. Then there's the next section. Rounded corners. Contains the entire page. On the left is a pulldown menu, about 1 cm from the top. On the right is a tabbed menu. This menu has flexible height. It needs to be right up against the bottom with the menu below it. Call this section the tabbed menu section. Third section. Immediately below that is a bar menu like the one Apple's got. Looks like a metal bar with divisions. Call this primary links. ---------- First, the space between. In IE, when you roll over the bar menu, the space disappears. Won't come back. Initially, in the second section, floated the pulldown menu left and the tabbed menu right. That worked fine, except that the tabbed menu had a width of 100% and pushed up the pulldown menu so the section was too wide. When I put it to 65%, all hell broke loose with the bar menu in the third section below it and bits of it snuck up into the second section. If I left it alone, and left the tabbed menu at 100%, when I checked over its container with firebug, it said that it was being affected by the primary links. I figured that out also because the background for that container was a really weird color that I finally found in the background of the navigation id and changed to white. Primary was overlapping it so I couldn't see it with firebug. So after fiddling with several clearing methods, I gave up and decided to try a table. Table worked fine, and the second section looks good except that there's a one pixel space between the tabbed menu and the bar menu. --------- It is my greatest wish right now to be able to float the pulldown to the left, the tabbed menu to the right and have the primary links stay below. I wish I could get the space to work and I wish for a clear understanding of it all so I can then figure out where to put the corners. Anyone who can enlighten me on this would have my undying gratitude. I've been working on this all day and the deadline's tomorrow. Code: <div id="top part" logo and searchbox </div> <div> that pesky space that disappears in IE when roll over primary links </div> <div id=navcontainer> dropdown and tabbed menu </div> <div id="navigation" class="menu> <!-- couldn't find the menu class in the css --> <div id="primary" class="clear-block"> contains barmenu - very fussy </div> </div> Here's the relevant CSS: Code: div#navigation { background: #fff url(../images/blue/menu-bg.png) 100% 100% repeat-x; } #primary { line-height: 30px; } #primary ul { padding:0; margin:0; list-style:none; } #primary li { display:inline; } #primary a { font-weight:bold; display:block; float:left; padding:0px 14px 0px 14px; margin: 0px 1px 0px 0px; font-size: 95%; } #primary a { background-position:0% 0px; } #primary a:hover { text-decoration: none; background-position:0% -42px; } #primary a.active { background-position: 0% -84px; } #primary a { background: url(../images/blue/menu-div.png) 100% 0 repeat-y; color:#666666; font-size: 120%; font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; } #primary a:hover { color: 666666; background: #B8B8B8; } #primary a.active { color: 666666; background: #B8B8B8; } This is my first try at css and i have been at it about a week on and off. I have tried to use examples from here and the o'reilly CSS cookbook. I want to create a two column row of pictures with a caption. I selected DIV as the tool (my css is below). The container DIV looks great. I want the div.float, however, to start a second row when a third picture is added and to continue thereafter with successive two column rows. Unfortunately, each of my rows contain only one picture. here is my css style sheet. A demonstration of the problem can be seen at: http://www.yourline-online.com/demo05/?How_to_create_pages Code: div.float { float: left; BORDER-RIGHT: #808080 2px solid; PADDING-RIGHT: 2px; BORDER-TOP: #808080 2px solid; PADDING-LEFT: 2px; FONT-WEIGHT: lighter; FONT-SIZE: medium; PADDING-BOTTOM: 20px; MARGIN: 16px 2%; BORDER-LEFT: #808080 2px solid; COLOR: #000000; PADDING-TOP: 2px; BORDER-BOTTOM: #808080 2px solid; HEIGHT: 200px; WIDTH: 150px; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffff; TEXT-DECORATION: none } div.float p { text-align: center; } div.container { border: 2px dashed #333; background-color: #ffe; } div.spacer { clear: both; } MY HTML is like this: Code: H1>How to create pages</H1> <P>The headings are used for splitting up the content file. An H1, H2 or H3 heading will dynamically split the document into new pages in the table of contents. An H4-heading is used as a heading within a page. I have my webpage: http://www.houseofhawkins.com/index.html which works great in IE. the part in question is the menu tabs at the top. Within IE they keep the width I have given them.. In firefox they only go to the width of the text. They are links with the following CSS attached: div#Header #MenuSection a.MenuTab { PHP Code: filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Gradient(endColorstr='#A8DBA8', startColorstr='#A4B7A4', gradientType='0'); font-weight: bold; text-align: center; font-size: 1.3em; background-color: #BCD6BC; border-style: solid; border-width: 1px; border-color: #A5BEA5 #BCD6BC #BCD6BC #A5BEA5; margin: 0 5px 0 2px; height: 1.5em; width: 140px; padding: 5px 1px 1px 1px; } div#Header #MenuSection { float:left; margin-top: 30px; } here is the HTML code for that part of the page. PHP Code: <div ID="MenuSection"> <a Class="SelectedMenuTab" Title="You are currently viewing the Home page">Home</a> <a Class="MenuTab" href="" title="Curriculum Vitae for Jonathan Hawkins, Author of House of Hawkins">CV</a> <a Class="MenuTab" href="http://houseofhawkins.com/projects/index.html" title="Portfolio of Work created by Jon Hawkins">Portfolio</a> <a Class="MenuTab" href="" title="Online Photo Gallery of Jon, friends and family">Photo Gallery</a> <a Class="MenuTab" href="http://houseofhawkins.com/games.html" title="Games created by House of Hawkins">Games</a> </div> <div style="clear:left"> </div> I just dont get why firefox wont be nice and give me the width I ask for... the oddest bit is if I put float:left into the menutab part they do work! I wish to understand why its like this... I have attached the CSS and the file if that helps anyone. Thanks for the help and advice. Hi all, I am trying to automate everything on my test website and I have one more angle to cover. In effect, I want to adjust the line-height property (which I can do) based on the number of files within a specific folder (PHP and already done). The more files in the folder, the lower the line-height value must be. This is to ensure if I copy additional files into the folder, then the navigation menu (which is PHP reading files in this particular folder) will alter the CSS line-height property accordingly to ensure it can never exceed a certain height. Sounds wierd? go to www.re3.org.uk (next to the RE3 image, I have a list of hyperlinks which are obtained from files within the folder) My problem, when adjusting the CSS property (which is set as cm in *.css file) in javascript, it doesn't correspond correctly, the line-height property in javascript doesn't appear to be work in cm but some other measurement. Does anyone know how to change what unit of measurement Javascript works in? Or does anyone know what unit of measurement javascript uses when adjusting line-height / line-width values? I want to create a mini-algorithm that works out the appropriate line-height based on the image height (got that already) and the number of files in the folder (got that too) so the menu automatically adjusts to fit. Whew! I've never done much CSS work, but I know this has to be an easy fix. Each DIV appears to be 10px higher when viewed in IE. I want them to be 8px high and they end up being 18px high. In Firefox, Netscape, and Opera it works fine. Anyone mind correcting this imbarrassing little problem? Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" > <head> <title>IE 10px Padding Problem</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <style type="text/css"> body { margin:0px; } #container { position:relative; margin:auto; width:730px; } #header { height:110px; } .textualtop { border:1px solid #000000; height:8px; } .textualbottom { border:1px solid #000000; height:8px; } </style> </head> <body> <div id="container"> <div id="header"></div> <div class="textualtop"></div> <div class="textualbottom"></div> <div class="textualtop"></div> <div class="textualbottom"></div> <p>Notice how in IE6 each DIV is 10px higher then in FF. Why is it doing this?</p> </div> </body> </html> It seem that everytime I added the image tag, the div'x area get bigger in IE but not in Mozilla/Firefox browser. So, I thought by added the "margin-bottom:-360px;" to the div would fix it but it had an opposite effect. Meaning it worked in IE but Mozilla show a vertical scrollbar. So, does anyone know how can I make the <img> overlap one another without being stacked on one after another in height for IE if I take out the "margin-bottom: -360px;"? Thanks... If the content is short all columns should extend to the height of the page window, but if the content in any of the columns is longer than the window height they should all extend to reach the bottom of the page and accommodate the content length In my first attempt things didn't go so well, results varied wildly across browsers so I decided to start from scratch bit by bit Bellow is the point at which I reach consistent but undesired behaviour, I have validated and tested the code in Firefox 3/Pale Moon, Internet Explorer 8, Chromium 9, and Opera 11 I would like the end result to work in the above browsers as well as IE7 if possible I should point out now that im not interested in using faux-columns, the layout should not require images, I also wish to have absolute-positioned elements in the columns some time later Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Three Columns</title> <style type="text/css"> *, html, body { margin: 0; padding: 0; font-size: 100%; } html, body { width: 100%; height: 100%; } #maincontainer { position: relative; height: 100%; background: #eee; } #left { position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 200px; background: #fbb; height: 100%; } #mid { position: relative; margin: 0 200px 0 200px; background: #efe; height: 100%; } #right { position: absolute; top: 0px; right: 0px; width: 200px; background: #bbf; height: 100%; } </style> </head> <body> <div id="maincontainer"> <div id="left"> left start<br /> left<br /> left<br /> left<br /> left<br /> left<br /> left<br /> left<br /> left<br /> left<br /> left<br /> left<br /> left<br /> left<br /> left end<br /> </div> <div id="mid"> mid start<br /> mid<br /> mid<br /> mid<br /> mid<br /> mid<br /> mid end<br /> </div> <div id="right"> right start<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right<br /> right end<br /> </div> </div> </body> </html> In the above example it works as long as the content within the columns is shorter than the window height, but if you re-size the window so that the text in the right or left column goes beyond the page, and then scroll to the bottom, the columns do not extend to the bottom of the page so there is a large gap where the content overflows beyond the column What I would like to do from this point is make the columns extend to the bottom of the page when this happens, but I'm not sure how best to proceed I also have a version of the above code which uses floated left and right columns instead of absolute positioned ones, would it be better to work from that? or does it not really matter Thanks in advance Hello everybody! I have been having a big problem with my webpage for a long time now and hope I can find an answer to my problem with your help. I want a div that contains the content of my pages (which varies in length depending on the individual page) to stretch the length of my page, but it only stretches the length of the window. Here's the HTML and CSS: HTML (I only included the very basic structure): <html> <body> <div class="container"> <div id="content"> <div id="..."></div> <div id="..."></div> <div id="..."></div> <div id="..."></div> </div> </div> </body> </html>` CSS: html, body { height: 100%; font-family: Arial; font-size: 10px; color: #000000; background: #FFF url(../../images/body.png) no-repeat center 40px; margin: 0; position: relative;} .container { height: 100%; width: 960px; margin-right: auto; margin-left: auto; position: relative;} #content { width: 939px; min-height: 100%; position: relative; top: 210px; left: 6px; box-shadow: 0px 0px 8px #666; -moz-box-shadow: 0px 0px 8px #666; -webkit-box-shadow: 0px 0px 8px #666; background-color: #FFF;} I tried to set the content div to overflow: auto, but that includes a scroll bar for the content div that I do not want. It does, however, create the desired effect of the shadow and background of the #content div all the way to the end of the page. Am I missing anything? I thought min-height would work, but it doesn't! It only stretches the content div to page height and everything else is overflow, but without the content div's background color and shadow. Does anybody maybe see where the problem lies? Thank you so much in advance for your help. If you look at the bottom of the page at www.res-technologies_DOT_com/index.php?jos_change_template=restech2 in both IE and FF, you will see that it looks fine in IE, but in FF the page length is extended by exactly the height of the header image at the top of the page. Trying to figure out what's causing this is driving me nuts! Can anyone help? thx dh My web page has a display bug in IE 5+ on Windows. Specifically, I have a DIV within which I wish to place two images. The two images are the same height and width, and I want to layer them (the top one is a PNG with transparency, but I have already solved that problem, this is a positioning problem) exactly on top of each other. I have done this by positioning them relatively within the DIV. The first image is top:0;left:0 and the second is top:-150;left:0 (the images are 150 px tall). They layer fine, but the DIV is twice the height (as if the second image were still following the first, making he DIV 300 px tall). I have tried many things and am stumped. Here is the site: URL Here is the relevant CSS: Code: #bannerPhoto { border-bottom-width: 1px; border-bottom-style: solid; border-bottom-color: #000000; height: 150px; width: 750px; } #bannerPic { position: relative; z-index: 1; left: 0px; top: 0px; } #bannerText { position: relative; z-index: 2; left: 0px; top: -150px; } And the HTML: Code: <div id="bannerPhoto"> <div id="bannerPic"><img src="../images/bannerPhotos/image.jpg" height="150" width="750" /></div> <div id="bannerText"><img src="../images/text-cover.png" height="150" width="750" /></div> </div> Anyone? Thanks, Denver. I am having a problem trying to get one column match the height of another. Within a large DIV box, I created two columns separated by about 20 px. I floated one to the left, then pushed one over to the right. Both boxes will expand depending on the amount of content, but I would like them to match the same height. The boxes will be used throughout the entire website, so it would not make sense to create a background image to try and trick it into being the same height.. or actually specifying the height. Is there any way to tell the left box to be the same height as the right box?? I tried to link to my site but it won't let a new member link to a website. i came across a solution for this a while ago and can't repeat the result i have 3 columns, div format with a left left right float. 1 2 3 #2 contains content that varies with the page, #1 and #3 contain background elements. i need 1 and 3 to extend the full height of 2, even tho the actual content is much less. thanks for the help! Hi Guys, Consider the following box: PHP Code: <div style=border: 1mm black Solid; width: 148mm; height: 98mm;'> </div> 148mm + 1mm + 1mm = width of 150mm 98mm + 1mm + 1mm = width of 100mm Now why does neither firefox or ie manage to get it? Firefox is about 2mm out and ie is about 3mm out? Any ideas or is it some quirk? Charlie Hi, this bug is driving me nuts. I don't know why it happens. All I know is that it is not even consistent. Here's a screenshot of the problem: http://www.argsoccertours.com/float-problem.jpg And here's the code for that part: Code: <p>The bus will take you to your hotel, where you can leave your luggage and take a shower.</p> <p>This day we suggest the Buenos Aires City Tour. Discover one of the most amazing cities in the world. Buenos Aires is a thoroughly modern city with more than 400 years of history. Visit Florida street, one of the most surprising pedestrian streets in South America. You don't want to miss Palermo Soho, the trendiest neighborhood in Argentina, where you will find tourists from all over the Globe;<img src="images/caption10.jpg" alt="Caminito" width="300" height="300" class="floatright" /> visit Puerto Madero, the preferred area for luxury offices and restaurants; and also check out San Isidro, the most exclusive neighborhood in Buenos Aires.</p> <p>You will also get to see Argentina's historic buildings, the <em>Casa Rosada</em> (which means "Pink House" and is the President's office), the <em>Obelisco</em> (a huge tower with a lot of history), and some of the oldest, yet best mantained museums and theaters in the world.</p> <p>Finish the day with a short visit to Recoleta, the neighborhood of choice for expats in Buenos Aires to have a good time and eat at the best restaurants.</p> <h2>Thursday, March 4 - <span class="redsubtitle">Practice + Palermo Soho + Recoleta</span></h2> <p>Your team will have a practice in the morning. A complimentary transfer will be available for you and your Tour Manager will help you with any arrangements that you need.<img src="images/caption11.jpg" alt="Rugby practice" class="floatright" /></p> <p>In the afternoon you can have <em>Tapas</em> -a Spanish typical dish- in Palermo Soho, a place that is so cool you will never forget it.</p> The CSS for floatright is: Code: .floatright { float: right; margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 10px; } As you can see in the code, in both cases I insert the image the same way, but the first one looks OK and the second one doesn't. This happens on IE7 (not sure about other versions of IE), but for sure it doesn't happen on FF. Anybody has any clue on what could cause this? Hey all, I'm wanting to create something like this: HEADER TITLE ___________________ TEXT HERE + - _______________________________ TEX HERE + - _______________________________ TEX HERE + - Ignore the underscores. Now I'm trying this code: Code: <div> <h2 style="display:inline;">HEADER TITLE</h2> <div style="float:right; padding:0; margin:0;"> TEXT HERE + - <br /> etc.. </div> </div> But no matter what I try the 'TEXT HERE' does not appear on the same inline and the floated div appears one line down like so: HEADER TITLE _______________________________ TEXT HERE + - _______________________________ TEXT HERE + - _______________________________ TEXT HERE + - Any suggestions on how to correct this? Thanks |
