CSS - Changing The Textfield <input> And Another About <br>
1) I want to change the margin around the textfield, right now it looks like a 2px border but i want to change it to 1 or 0 as I will use my css of the parent div to space the items.
Is this possible? if so how? Thanks there is a picture attached, as you can see it has a margin, i highlighted it, otherwise it would be snug with the bright green border ps: borders are only there to see the sections 2) Can i change what the <br> tag does? can I make my own class? I would like to make a <br class"mybr"> that would have a 10px space, or something like that. Is this possible? Similar TutorialsHi, Please see http://lbclibrary.org/addtoinquiry.php (scroll down a bit to see the form) What I want to do is, when the user selects "I am a member of ..." or "I want to become a member of..." the form fields in the OTHER cell should become readonly (i.e. should not allow input). Is it possible to make ALL the form elements in one <td> cell as readonly? Further, is it possible to change their background colors to say light grey? Then, when you select another radio option, that cell becomes writable and the other cell becomes readonly. Thanks a lot! notice difference between first two txt fields and the third one. first two have only background color changed, but in IE they have become bigger, in Moziila/Netscape their border is chaged.. I would like to have background color changed, but size, color and border width stay same, like in third textfield.. please use following code for refference: Code: <html> <head> <style> .boxA { background-color:#CCCCCC; } .boxB { background-color:#999999; } </style> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <title>Untitled Document</title> </head> <body> <input type="text" id="text1" class="boxB" onFocus="makeLight(this)" onBlur="makeDark(this)"><br><br> <input type="text" id="text2" class="boxB" onFocus="makeLight(this)" onBlur="makeDark(this)"><br><br> <input type="text" id="text3"> <br><br> <script> function makeLight(obj){ obj.className="boxA"; } function makeDark(obj){ obj.className="boxB"; } </script> </body> </html> My problem is with 2 textfields that I am using css to text attributes, all is well in IE, but in netscape and firefox the letters q,y,p the bottoms get cut off. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. here is a link to the page i am working on http://www.cfwilson.com/365c/index.htm Charles I am trying to construct a site using a complete de-coupled design. My problem concerns some absolute positioned textfields. I do not wish to use a table to display the form, as this would defeat the whole purpose of the project. The page in question can be found here The CSS is as follows (exmaple of the name header and text field Code: /* Contact Form Positioning */ .NameFormTitle { position: absolute; left: 15px; top: 110px; display: inline; } #NameFormField { position: absolute; left: 120px; top: 110px; display: inline; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; color: #999999; font-weight: bold; line-height: 100px; } In IE 6 all is well. The textfield is the same height as the header, in Firefox and Netscape the textfields are to high. I have tried line height, but as the elements are absoluted positioned this has no effect (I think). Please help Hi there, I have a text field which I would like to change colour on hover. Any ideas how I would do this? I tried using a class with a:hover but it didn't work. Thanks! Hi Everyone, I have a problem trying to position a submit button on a search form. The button is an image saying "go" and I am trying to move the button down by a few pixels using CSS. Whenever I use margin-top:3px; the textfield is also moved down although I am using a class on the button of "goButton" (see code below). I want to be able to move the button only. I can nest tables with the best of them but when it comes to using div's and css instead i just can't figure out how to precisely place things! Does anyone know of a guide that explains how to use divs effectively instead of tables? thanks - legit I have a header.inc and a css style sheet that are called to each page of a website via php. In the style sheet there are two styles that I would like to change depending on the section of the website. For example: in the style sheet css id "subnav" has background: #E8EDF5 and cssi id "subtitle" has background #E8EDF5 however in each major section of the website I would like to change the background colors of the divs that have id "subnav" and "subtitle". Is there type of php statement that I could place at the top of my website pages that would allow me to specify the colors of these two css ids? Hope I have made this clear. Hi am looking for help changing a form select box with css. I am trying to get the select box in line with the rest of the scroll boxes and arrows on my site.... http://www.peteromoore.com/site3/brochure.htm is there any way to change the select box arrow to match the arrow beside it??? any help would be appreciated. Greetings I hope the title wasn't too confusing. If not this is sure to be. What I have is and Unordered List that has a heading in each List Item and then a few items under that. The List Items are links arranged in a grid that have a hover effect on mouseover. Due to the colors I want the heading (in this case h2) in each li to change color on the a:hover (the hover over anywhere on each li, not just over the h2 text). How can I achieve this? Here is some code to (hopefully) clarify: Code: #lower { width: 765px; float: left; margin-top: 10px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 10px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 20px; padding-left: 0px; } #lower ul { width: 775px; list-style-type: none; margin: 0; padding: 0px; } #lower ul li { font-family: "Trebuchet MS"; font-size: 14px; width: 250px; float: left; } #lower ul li a { text-decoration: none; display: block; height: 125px; color: #262626; } #lower ul li a:hover { background-color: #5B8C3E; color: #D9D9D9; } #lower h2 { font-family: "Trebuchet MS"; font-size: 16px; margin: 0px; color: #262626; } #lower a h2:hover { color: #D9CE3F; } As is the h2 only changes when it is directly hovered, not the the li.
