Tom There are floods of threads pertaining to vertical aligning so I hope i'm not assaulted for asking this How would I go about vertically align content inside of a floating div with a fixed width and height. This is what I have so far. http://section31.us/temp/gallery/images.htm I obviously would like to have those images vertically aligned, can anyone help? Hey, I have been looking EVERYWHERE for a solution and there seems to be none just quite yet. I've searched google and all sorts of help forums... and still zip, nothing. What I want to do is vertically-align the text in this example: http://www.tri-m.com/test.html in the middle of the white space. The problem though is that there is an unknown height of the whitespace because I want it to be that no matter what size you size the window, the content will always be vertically aligned... so I'm pretty stuck on how to do this. I'm needing the solution for this desperatly and I have been searching and trying everything for weeks. If anyone could help that would be VERY VERY apperciated. Thank you sooo much to everyone that tries this out. Once again here is the Example: http://www.tri-m.com/test.html Here is my code: Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>Tri-M Systems INC.</title> <style type="text/css"> * { margin:0; padding:0; } html, body { height:100%; } body { color:#000; } #container-page { background:#fff; width:100%; min-height:100%; /* For Modern Browsers */ height:auto !important; /* For Modern Browsers */ height:100%; /* For IE */ position:relative; text-align:left; margin:0 auto; } #container-head { background:#fff; } #header { background-color:#0000FF; min-width:830px; width:expression(document.body.clientWidth < 832 ? What have I done wrong in my code?? http://www.ilumos.co.uk/site/?page=home http://www.ilumos.co.uk/site/styleDefault.css Hi, I'm having a little trouble sending the "x Comments" div (.blogCommentCount) to the right side of its parent div (.blogItemContainer) If I try and use "float: right;" it is aligned to the right, but is shifted outside of its parent div, which isn't the idea. I could of course do this and apply a negative margin-top, but I'd rather use a non-hacky method if I could. Thanks ilumos Hi all i am just wondering exactly how you get a div to stay in the center of a page no matter what screen resolution. how do i center align table on page with CSS? Hi all, How do you put the content div? at the top of a page's source code? I've never figured out how to do this and I'm very interested. I am developing a website for a singer friend, using joomla and a template I purchased. I have only been building websites for 9 months now, so please forgive my ignorance. The problem is that the content, navigation etc moves left or right, almost diagonally depending on the resolution of someones screen. This is noticeable to me as well, if I zoom in and out on my page. I have no idea what is going on at all. Could someone give me some pointers? Here is the site: fernyhillscomputers.com.au/fordham/ Thanks, Chris. Hi folks- This may be a bit off the wall, but what the heck... Is it possible to set up a portion of a document, a "region", if you will, that acts like an external file? I have an E-mailed news service page that's set up using CSS to look and act like a three-column frameset. All three windows can scroll and load independently. I'd like the user to be able to click on an icon in the left column and load data into the column next to it. The hitch is that since this is an E-mailed document, it would be good to have all necessary data self-contained, if possible, rather than accessible remotely via absolute URLs (to avoid having to make the subscriber go to a web site and enter a user name and password). I know that I can load external files into a given "column" by referincing an absolute URL, but does anyone know if it's possible to load only a portion of the current document? (as opposed to simply jumping within the document to a specific point, as with a "name" anchor? Thanks in advance. - Tom Tedeschi hi, I am fairly new to css and working on a website with a complete css layout for the first time, one I got from dreamweaver. I thought things were going great because I did all my testing in Firefox (like a good boy) but then I tried to test it in Internet Explorer 6 and alot if not all of my webpages have the text positioned at the bottom instead of the top of a page. Hi all, this is my first post and hope I get help in a hear-tearing problem that I face at this link: (URL address blocked : See forum rules) ie show the complete page fine but firefox obscure the bottom content, no need for more explanation since it is obvious from looking at the page, I have the same problem when page content get much long as in the above link. any help would be greatly appreciated. sorry for my bad english i have a base page that i use for a multi-page site, but i'd like to be able to insert more and more content, and have the page size accordingly. i think the problem is that the content is technically floating...or something, it's a cold fusion search result in a cart. i don't know, i might be asking for a miracle here- if you have an idea, let me know. Hello - I'm having trouble with the layout of a site I'm working on. Here's the site in question: http://www.americanidiotsband.com/ If you look at it in anything up to 1024x768, it's fine. But if you go higher than that (say, 1280x1024 resolution), then the main (black) part of the page goes only as far down as the content that is filling it. What SHOULD happen is that the black background should span all the way to the bottom, no matter how much content is inside it... Here is a link to the stylesheet that I made up: http://www.americanidiotsband.com/styles.css I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, and I'm hoping that someone could help me correct this. Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered!... |
