CSS - Scroll Table Not Shown In Mozilla
Hi, I have a table with a scroll bar. My problem is that it works in ie but not
in mozilla,netscape7.1, firefox...When I load the page in mozilla, the table is not shown, it's as if it were set to hidden, and it's really weird because the first time that I load the page, the table is shown with the scroll bar just for a moment and then hides..... I used a div tag that contains the table to be shown. I've tried different things as changing the z-index, using the display attribute, but none of them worked. Here is the style defined for the div tag: Code: div.tableContainer_plegado{height: 420px; overflow: auto; width:100%;} Please help me! Thanks in advance! Similar TutorialsHi, I have a table with a scrollbar that works perfectly in ie but not in mozilla. When I scroll up/down in mozilla, the header is not kept fixed as it should be. I use a div that encloses one table with the content. the css code for the div and the thead: Code: div.tableContainer_plegado{height: 285px; overflow: auto; width:100%;} //I also tried top:0, just in case mozilla doesn't support the expression element thead.lista td{position:relative; top: expression(document.getElementById("data").scrollTop-0);} thanks in advance!! I am using an external CSS where I am defining the color of my links when un-visited, visited etc. The problem is in Netscape 7.1/7.2 those links which are calling my other pages, are being shown up as visited when clicked,. But those where I say href='javascript:void(0);my js function' are not being shown with the correct 'visited' link color. They are being shown in the color specified for 'un-visited' links!! Can someone help?? So I've tried to make my site www.thespinzone.com work for all browsers, but I'd settle for IE & Mozilla, however I have run into a big problem with IE (and it appears ONLY 7+) and Mozilla, all versions. First the IE problem is that it's adding a horizontal scroll bar on my main page, not the others, and I can only assume it has something to do with the RSS headlines positioning? screen shot 1 Now I'm having 2 problems with Mozilla: 1st: No matter how I try manipulate the CSS, the headlines won't float to the right, and they end up being squeezed next to my picture which is a waste of space and looks silly. Here is a screen shot of how it looks. Ideally I want the headlines to be on the right hand sight of the page, as far as it can be. I WANT the layout to look, MINUS the horizontal scroll bar like that first IE screen shot. 2nd: clicking or right clicking on any of the 'headline' items, moves that entire part underneath my picture and I have no idea why? In case it doesn't do that with your mozilla version, here's a screen shot The relevant CSS is on the index page so rather than me cut & paste it (unless that's preferred) then 'view source'..... I appreciate any and all help and advice. Thanks I'm having some issues with getting a table border to appear in both Mozilla and IE. I had it working at one point but now it's stopped working in IE. Basicly this is the code to control it: border:1px solid #0; but IE doesn't read it, I've checked the rest of the CSS to see if there is any conflicts but found none. Anyone know how to get the table border to appear in both IE and Mozilla? i use external stylesheet which is shown below. i have tried using <h1> which is set to center, ive tried using <p class="center"> and it still does not center. it only centers when i use the <center> tag...what gives? its fine in netscape, opera, and ie..... I have differences between how elements I state in CSS are shown. Sometimes it's IE that makes the problems (mostly with overflow) but this time it's FF. I have a content, to which I decided to make a "wrap" border from right and left (shown in red on the screenshots). The name of the element is #content_wrap. Could you take a glance at the links below and help me out finding the problem that causes this difference between the display in IE and FF? The way I see the page using IE (the way it's supposed to be - shown via green) The way I see the page using FF (the wrap is not at it's full height - show via green) The complete page (the CSS is included in the html file) P.S. If you have any other comments and suggestions, they are welcome. The code for the problem are below. I have two examples in my html file. One using styles directly and one using styles via a file. The styles are identical. The first div tags that uses styles directly shows correctly, but the other div tags doesn't even show at all - or at least not with 'height' in '.page' set to 'auto'. If it's set for example to 200px that div will show but not the sub ones. This is strange since if using the same styles directly this isn't even a problem at all. Is there any hack/way how to support image borders also on IE? I've changed how links are rendered - problem is that I can't stop same thing being done on images as links. Code: a { text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 1px dotted; } a:hover { text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 1px solid; } And it works great on ordinary links (<a href="#">Text here</a>) but I cant turn it off when I have an image as a link (<a href="#"><img ... /></a>). I tried this : Code: a img { border: none; /* tried border: 0px; also */ } img { border: none; /* tried border: 0px; also */ } And it doesn't work The only way I could achive the result is to specify an class for each link: Code: .img-link { border: none; } .img-link:hover { border: none; } // in HTML <a href="#" ... class="img-link"><img ... /></a> Hello, I have a weird problem with IE7. My solution works fine on FireFox, IE8 and even IE6, but on IE7 the button image does not want to load. Here is the HTML and CSS. Code: <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <style> .sayhello{ background: url("hello.png") no-repeat scroll 0 0 transparent; border: medium none; height: 49px; margin-top: 10px; text-indent: -9999px; text-transform: capitalize; width: 85px; } </style> </head> <body> <input type="button" onclick="javascript:alert('hello');" value="Say Hello!!" class="sayhello"> </body> </html> I can get the button to show if I set the button as position:absolute or else display:block. However these would create me other problems. Is there any other way how I can get the button to show? considering I want to show the button in relative position and next to other buttons. Hi all, I use an background image for a menu. Code: #menu a, #menu a:hover { height: 20px; width: 150px; text-decoration: none; padding-left: 40px; padding-top: 3px; padding-right: 3px; font-weight: bold; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 11px; margin-bottom: 10px; background-position: 0px; vertical-align: middle; } #menu a { color: #9E007F; background-image: url(../imgs/nav/subNav/subNav_bg.gif); background-repeat: no-repeat; } #menu a:hover { color: #FFF; background-image: url(../imgs/nav/subNav/subNav_bg_over.gif); background-repeat: no-repeat; } It works fine in IE but not in firefox. Somehow the background image is not completely shown. It stops after the last letter. Any suggestions?? If anyone can help that would be really appreciated! Thanks very much RF I've defined three classes in this page but now I can't scroll down to the end of the page. the vertical scroll bars are missing. why is that? Code: <style> a.ClassA{ background-color:#000000; color:#ffffff; width:200px; height:50px; } a.ClassA:hover{ background-color:Red; } </style> Code: <a href=# class=ClassA>Sample</a> IE http://img156.echo.cx/img156/604/ie9ay.png Mozilla http://img156.echo.cx/img156/7571/moz6ed.png The result I want is the same with IE why is it different in Mozilla ? Hello. I can't figure out why Mozilla Firefox won't interpret my CSS correctly. In IE my site works just fine but in Firefox it doesn't work at all. The only part of the css file mozilla is picking up is the body font. Any ideas? is there away for me to make css work in mozila? I have this for IE but when i view the site in mozilla/netscape then the tables and etc are all out of place Code: .10w { font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; color: #FFFFFF; font-weight: normal; } .10wB { font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; font-weight: bold; color: #FFFFFF; } .10b { font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; color: #000000; } does anyone knows how to make it work? I am trying to display a banner (image) at the top of my page with a menu under it. In IE the image aligns to the top of the menu, but in Mozilla the menu starts 15 pixels below the image. I've tried setting margin and padding to 0 for all div tags but that does not help. If I set margin=-15px for my #hnav it aligns in Mozilla, but then the menu is pushed up 15 pixels in IE. I've tried an old IE hack from eric myers, but both IE and Mozilla read the hack code and it did not help. Code: <html> <head> <style type="text/css"> body {margin:0; padding:0;} html {margin:0; padding:0; background-color:#646874; font-size:11pt; font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;} img {display: block;border:none; margin:0;padding:0;} a:link, a:visited { color: #00F; text-decoration: none; } #pageContent {margin-left:24px;margin-top:12px;padding-bottom:45px; padding-right:7px; } .contentImg {width:707px;padding-left: 209px;} .padRight { padding-right: 15px; } #banner { width:820px;height:149px; background-image:url(images/820x150.gif); background-repeat:no-repeat; } #hnav {width:820px;height:42px;background-image:url(images/navbar.gif);background-repeat:repeat-x; margin-top: 0px;} #hnav ul {list-style:none;padding-left:20px;} #hnav ul li {float:left;font-size:11px;padding-right:15px;background-image:url(images/divider.gif); background-position:right;background-repeat:no-repeat;height:30px;} #hnav ul li a {padding-right:15px;position:relative;top:9px;text-decoration:none;color:#000;} #hnav ul li a:hover {color:#777777;} #hnav .curNavItem {padding-right:15px;position:relative;top:9px;text-decoration:none;color:#000; font-weight:bold;} </style> </head> <body> <div id="centerPage"> <div id="mastHead"> <div id="banner"></div> <div id="hnav"> <ul> <li><span class="curNavItem">Home</span></li> <li><a href="gold.html">Gold</a></li> <li><a href="silver.html">Silver</a></li> <li><a href="ssteel.html">Stainless Steel</a></li> <li><a href="glass.html">Glass</a></li> <li><a href="gemstones.html">Gemstones</a></li> <li><a href="custom.html">Custom</a></li> <li><a href="plating.html">Plating</a></li> <li><a href="events.html">Events</a></li> <li><a href="contactus.html">Contact Us</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> </body> </html> HELP! this is the deal. My CSS/html looks great in IE.....BUT, when i open it in Mozilla, its like Mozilla isn't even registering the external css...only the html. Any ideas on how to make it work in both ie and mozilla?!? Im new to CSS and have a problem. IE displays my webpages without problem but when testing in Mozilla only a small number of CSS borders are visible. Here's an example. This works OK .right { border-top-width: 1px; border-right-width: 1px; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-left-width: 1px; border-top-style: none; border-right-style: solid; border-bottom-style: solid; border-left-style: none; border-top-color: #666666; border-right-color: #666666; border-bottom-color: #666666; border-left-color: #666666; } But this one does not display? .3pxspacernobackborder3 { padding: 8px; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif, "Book Antiqua"; font-size: 12px; color: #000066; border-top: 1px solid #666666; border-right: 1px solid #666666; border-bottom: 1px none #666666; border-left: 1px none #666666; } This is probably somethign simple but be gentle please guys. I'm designing a site and have an absolute div with a z-index of -1. This div has a background image. On top of this div I have a normal layout table with my content, in effect I wanted a background image that didn't tile, so I threw it in a div. When i view it in IE6 everything looks nice, but when I view it in firefox, the image doesn't show up, the dive borders dont show up and any text I put in the div doesn't show up. Any thoughts or workarounds why the image isn't showing. Thanks chuck_samsonite _______________________________________________ Lloyd: Oh yeah! It's right here, Samsonite! I was way off!
