CSS - Navigation Problems In Opera 7
My navigation resizes and moves in every browser except in Opera. Also, the placement of the navigation in Opera is incorrect. I have a feelin the root of the cause is that I've set a % width on my nav div. Is there a way around this mess?? A hack maybe? My site is http://www.marginalspace.com . You will need to click on the white square on the right-hand column to get the style in which this problem occurs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The stylesheet in question is white.css .

Hi, Av just check my website in Opera for the mac and found something annoying.. I have problems with my header and footer.. Although I use Firefox at home, the only browser available at work is IE5 (currently running under Windows NT). The Previews: Internet Explorer 5: Internet Explorer 6: Firefox: Opera: What I am trying to achieve is for the #navigation div to align with the sIFR header (this is rendered correctly in IE5/IE6). Firefox and Opera seem to offset the header, meaning that the header and #navigation div no longer align. The 'perfect' rendition seems to be IE6 - if anyone knows what I may need to adjust in me CSS to get this to work consistantly I would really appreciate it. The problem is that it is not properly presented in Opera 7.51, which i am using. Though it shows to my wishes in IE. the test version can be found at http://users.pandora.be/jef_patat/test/index.htm and the stylesheet at http://users.pandora.be/jef_patat/test/visualstyle2.css It is my intention to have four areas that can stretch in function of their content (the menu, news, validation and main content areas). This works fine in IE but in Opera I get some strange blank areas which i can not solve. I know my css is not perfect but i did the best i can. I would like to use another stylesheet for people with lower bandwiths, this stylesheet is found at http://users.pandora.be/jef_patat/test/visualstyle3.css With this stylesheet one can clearly view i mess up. It should give a simular result as the other stylesheet so i can use the same html code. The outer black border should stretch down the page and i would like some space underneat it as well. Anyone can help? Kind regards Jef Patat Ok, I've created an XHTML/CSS site that looks fine in IE5+, Mozilla, FireFox and Netscape. It almost works in Opera and on a Mac but it seems something slightly is going wrong. The biggest problem is on the Mac, while the page looks fine, for some reason part of the left div goes over to the right, making the right div drop below it. I am sure it is just a CSS problem with the position or maybe float but if I could get someone to pin point the problem it would save me a lot of time. Also on the Mac and in Opera, my columns have a gap at the very bottom of the page somehow, not quite sure why? They seem fine in the other browsers. Also, just another quickie, in IE4.0 does it not support columns of floats? My site just expands the full length and ignores the float left rule, any ways to get round this? I used the code from this article to build a popout menu, but for some reason I can't get it to work in firefox. If you test their demo in Firefox but if you test mine, it looks great in Internet Explorer, but gets all messed up Firefox & Opera. In firefox the entire bottom section (the part under the slide show) is messed up. In Opera there's a gap under the play controls. If I close the gap, it messes up IE. Getting this slide show to work was quite the task, but I'm close to having it work on the big three! Should I just un-nest everything? I am developing a simple band webpage for my band. When you navigate between sections, the top header and menu either shift up/down or left/right depending on which section you go to and which browser you use. It is extremely annoying. I have tried 3 different forums and I'm getting no help. And this one wont let me post links (bleh). I did notice that in Dreamweaver, in some sections the header touches the top of the page and it others, it looks like it is down a bit. I have tried everything I can to get all the sections to look the same but I can't figure out why the header is in different places in different sections. I made all the sections at the same time. The main LI is horizontal, and the containing UL, LI is a vertical dropdown. The seperate CSS file does the image replacements on the <a> and hides the text within the <span>, usual stuff. The nav works great, with the graphic rollovers etc. The rollover, again, standard way of doing it, background: url(<FILE>) no-repeat top left; and the a:hover rollover is a background: bottom left;. Edit: Just noticed that I can't link to the full site that I have uploaded for preview. What I want to do, is when the user roll's over any of the items within the sub-navigation, it keeps the main Services navigation link rolled over also. The only way I could think of doing this, and relatively simply, would be to use JavaScript, but wanted to explore any other CSS ways of doing this. For example, is it possible to change a style of another class, from another? Your help would be much appreciated! For some reason, this PHP Code: input.headtext {background-color: #515153;border: 0px outset #515153;} leaves a bright yellow hideous border around the input field. Is there any way to get rid of that? Hi, Well, they're at it again, those cheeky browsers. Check it out. I have a site that consists of a main, central container, with a background image of 675x1px. So far I also have a top banner and a menu bar both 600px wide. The extra 75px are drop shadows either side of the main box of colour. In IE, I put my banner and menu divs into the container and everything works fine - they're nicely centred and look good. However, in opera/firefox, the divs are over to the left of the central container, and hence screw everything up. Also, even though my central container has 100% height, in Opera it doesn't extend to the bottom of the page. Here's the CSS: Code:

See how links went up. how to put them in middle Sorry to bother you guys again, but I'm having some image and CSS related problems with IE and Opera. I've just finished implementing sIFR into my textpattern-powered journal, and have now come across some odd bugs in Opera and IE. The first problem is apparent in Opera and IE, which involves the browsers enlarging my image icons from the 16px x 16px to twice their size. Here is a link to some screenshots: Internet Explorer and Opera Only FireFox renders the page correctly. However, since IE contributes to 60% of my visitors I need to ensure that I fix this bug! Can anyone see my mistake? Cheers I use Opera browser all the time and notice a couple problems while using Jupitor Portal script, the fault is on Opera so I need a way to fix this. 1. Block had some sort of padding or whitespace on the right side for some reason. 2. Search button width is short.
