CSS - Css Is Causing My Input Field To Be Unclickable

I'm trying to align a div right after an input text field. div has a background image I want to display, but no text. div is going on the next line after input. how can I keep it to the left of the input text field?

How do you get the input text areas and selections to highlight or glow once active? For examples, visit Zappos.com or Amazon.com - when you click in the text fields to login it sort of glows.

Ok, i have this side div thats small. I want to be able to mouse-over (hover) over it or if not that click it. When either action is done, than it will reveal a input field attached to that small tab that was hovered, or clicked.

If you need more details or explanation than reply, I cant really explain it but i will try.

I'm going round and round without getting any head way so hopefully someone can give me a hand...
I'm creating a mail form using a background image for the input fields. What I don't want is a border. If I don't add a border: solid black, for instance, I get a default white. Is there a way to have no border?

I have customized the elements of a form for a website I am working on. I have set the input fields to have a white background, however, in three out of the six textfields the background is yellow (this only happens in Internet Explorer 6).

I have checked the CSS, and the yellow isn't included anywhere.

I have made this input field so people can place their name in there but noticed that when you type into it, the writing begins too close to the left side and I would like to place like a left margin on it by about 5px.

Hi all,

Im having a great deal of problem trying to get a CSS based autocomplete menu appear above input fields (not select) in IE 7 only.

Have tested in Firefox, Safari, Opera etec and it looks good.
Am totally stumped on this so any help much appreciated,

Usually I find anything I need to know if I have the source code of a web site but this time I've lost. Some web sites changes the background color of the browsers address (URL) input field (works only with Gecko type browers I think).

Just one example: https://www.gmx.net (a commercial email service provider in Germany).

How can this be done?

I want to change the "flashing cursor" color in an input field in my css.

This field has a dark background, the text over it is white but when you click in it, the flashing cursor is darkgray an almost invisible.

I'm mostly speaking in French and I don't know what is called this cursor. I don't mean the mouse pointer but the cursor that is flashing in the field to indicate your position in this field.

I really can't seem to even find the words to describe this error. I have posted before in regards to another issue that seemed to have alluded you guys so i am posting again for another error that is more important.

What is the Error?
Ok basically the yahoo(google has same issue) ad lags when you scroll up and down. When I say lag i mean it sort of stays in it's position while the rest of the layout moves on, after a second it corrects itself.

I have excluded everything in my layout except the header, and even tried removing the ad from the div and everything and can't seem to figure out what is causing this issue.

For users on WINDOWS (for some reason it works fine on MAC) based computers simply focus your eyes on the advertisement, and scroll up and down while watching it. It's impossible not to see it.

Note, this issue doesn't occur in IE7 (note sure about IE6)

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this lil bug is holding up the opening of my layout

Pop along to www.themapcentre.com , using Internet Explorer. You should see a site that's fairly tidily arranged. Now take a look at it in Opera or Firefox, and you'll see it all goes to heck in a handbasket. A classic case of IE-itis. I have basically used layers of containers for each part of the site. Can anyone suggest a fix that would make this look right in firefox etc as well as IE? The div CSS is posted below:

Hi,

I am finishing up my site and I have decided to add to footer image to each page but when I attempt to add it on a page that has padding whether it be after the text with padding or not the image is detached by approx the padding size from the bottom.

I have been toying around for hours but with no success.
I have also been reading some of the tutorials given to me by the members here which have helped greatly but I am stumped.

Issue is only in IE. When the window size is to small, the right columns drop down to form a new line. In FF it works exactly like I want it to where the excess is just off screen.

Any idea how to fix this issue? Much thanks!

I've tried several differnt doc types, but all of them prevent my left menu items' text to change colors when you hover over the text.

Is this common? Is it my code?

You'll also notice the 2 pages below have some general layout css issues, like too much white space above the grey line AND though they both use the same right bar (I uses a PHP include) the format is different in both. The green line is the toughest...it won't extend the height of the page.

Any ideas?
