CSS - Div + Css + Js Small Menu Problems In Firefox & Ns
Hello ppl,
I made a website using some mouseover menus, this is the simpliest way I found to create some menues using divs and css but I have a problems in firefox and netscape, the menu it's not apearing at all when i go over a TD which has the onmouseover property. I tried to add the mouseover property to the image from that TD but I had no succes and to a link which I made for test , nothing happent . In opera and IE everything is working fine. the link is here www.medimpact.ro 10x in advance see ya all Similar TutorialsIf you view my website http://jordanmeeter.com/index you'll see how the menu displays, and how it is supposed to appear. And then if you view the website in IE, you'll notice that there are grey boxes inbetween each menu item. What is causing this? Here is the HTML: Code: <div id="navcontainer"> <ul id="navlist"> <li><a href="#" title="One">One</a></li> <li><a href="#" title="Two">Two</a></li> <li><a href="#" title="Three">Three</a></li> <li><a href="#" title="Four">Four</a></li> <li><a href="#" title="Five">Five</a></li> </ul> </div> And the CSS: Code: #navlist { padding: 0 1px 1px; margin-left: 0; font: bold 12px Verdana, sans-serif; background: gray; width: 13em; } #navlist li { list-style: none; margin: 0; border-top: 1px solid gray; text-align: left; } #navlist li a { display: block; padding: 0.25em 0.5em 0.25em 0.75em; border-left: 1em solid #38739D; background: #616161; text-decoration: none; color: #A5D3EF; } #navlist li a:link { color: #A5D3EF; } #navlist li a:visited { color: #A5D3EF; } #navlist li a:hover { border-color: #54ACEB; color: #FFF; background: #616161; } I'm hoping I can get some guidance on why I can't get this popout menu to work! I used the code from this article to build a popout menu, but for some reason I can't get it to work in firefox. If you test their demo in Firefox but if you test mine, it looks great in Internet Explorer, but gets all messed up Firefox & Opera. If you save the page you will see there is a style sheet as well as a small Javascript file too. If someone could check over my code for me that would be great! I have been staring at it for hours and can't seem to find the problem! This is my first project using CSS styles to control something besides the usual things like fonts, etc. so go easy on me! Thanks in advance! Chelsea Hey, I'm new to this board and CSS design in general. I have a question that I couldn't figure out or find anywhere. projecthoods. com/clients/bpa (minus the space before com) (FF) Although I set the div width to 666 (not intentional), why is the background color only appearing in IE? FF doesn't display the bg. I'm assuming it has something to do with the unordered list, because it all works fine if I replace the list with text, however, I can't find a solution because I need the list in there. Any ideas? Thanks guys. CSS Code: body { margin: 0 0 0 4em; padding: 0; background: #384c7f url(images/bg.gif); font-family: Verdana,Arial,"Times New Roman",sans-serif; font-size: small; color:#484848; text-align: justify; } a:link { color: #384c7f; } a:visited { color: #384c7f; } a:hover { color: #6173a3; } ul { margin: 0 0 0 25px; } h3 { font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",Verdana,sans-serif; margin: 0 0 0 0; } #header { margin: 0 0 0 0; padding: 0 0 0 0; } #eprnavigation { color: #f2f2f2; background: #4b5f92; margin: 0 0 0 0; padding: 0 0 0 0; width: 666px; } #nav a { color:#f2f2f2; background: #4b5f92; text-decoration: none; font-weight: bold; padding: 5px 5px 5px 5px; } #nav a:hover { color: #f2f2f2; background: #6173a3; padding: 10px 5px 10px 5px; } #nav { list-style: none; color: #f2f2f2; margin: 0 0 0 0; padding: 0 0 0 0; font-size: .8em; background: #4b5f92; width: 666px; } #nav li { float: left; margin: 0 0 0 0; padding: 10px 10px 10px 10px; color: #f2f2f2; background: #4b5f92; } #content { background: #e5e5e5; color:#484848; width: 666px; margin: 0 0 0 0; } #footer { background: #6173a3; height: 15px; width: 656px; color: #f2f2f2; font-size: .7em; padding: 5px 5px; text-align: center; } acronym { color: #4a5c8b; background: #e5e5e5; border-bottom: 1px dotted; cursor: help; } /* Finish Style Formatting */ /* Start Layout Structuring */ #picture { text-align: center; } #footer { clear: both; } #left { padding: 10px; float: left; width: 200px; } #right { padding: 10px; float: right; width: 400px; } /* End Layout Structuring */ Hi guys I have a simple Wordpress website and I don't know anything about CSS I used a visual CSS editor called stylise to change a few things but I can't seem to get the spacing I can't put the URL here because I am a new member, but look at the pics and you will figure it out. Actually urls in pictures are removed as well so no pics. Website is theinterviewkit dot com What I want done is some simple spacing: The add to cart button doesn't line up I the store page, it is ok when I check the website on safari and Firefox, but on my iPad the add to cart button is beside the quantity box. I'd like it under Have images I marked up but The forum doesn't allow urls in posts of new users!!!!!! check store page When you click on the product and go to the product page, the add to cart is slightly to the left of the name and price. I would like it Lined up where the red line is. On safari and my iPad, it is as you see in the screen shot. On Firefox though, the add to cart button is under the picture. Unfortunately when I tried editing, any change I did moved the add to cart button on each page that had it (store page and every product page). I'm guessing because I'm editing that element instead of the spacing of the page. Had Image here but no urls allowed. Check product page Again, I don't know anything about CSS, only very very basic HTML. If anybody could figure it out that would be awesome. Am putting the finishing touches to my site but in firefox 8 the top of the side menu there is a space and login part is to low as well. My site is www.carswapped.co.uk The underline is on the contact page (the google map has been freaking out on IE, so try FF). I want "Hours" to be underlined, but it isn't showing up. It's an h1 with a class of "comment" and the CSS is Code: h1.comment { text-decoration: underline; } The float problem uses this CSS. The page in question shows all the previous presidents . There's a 0 margin and it does float, it just is aligned wrong. The CSS for both columns is Code: #pastpres table { font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: .8em; border-collapse: collapse; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 0; } #pastpres tr { border-bottom: 1px solid #775b36; } #pastpres2 table { font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: .8em; border-collapse: collapse; margin-bottom: 1em; float: right; margin-top: 0; margin-left:0; } #pastpres2 tr { border-bottom: 1px solid #775b36; } I'm pretty new to CSS (only just begun). I've been teaching myself using a number of resources, but I realise the best way to learn is to practice. I just don't think I'm doing it right. I want to have the main content of the page floating in the centre of the window, which works in IE but not firefox or opera. I also want san serif fonts, but these also aren't being displayed in Opera or Firefox. Any ideas? Here's the code: Code: /*** TEXT AND TAG STYLES ***/ body { font:Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, san-serif; color:#000000; text-align:center; background-color:#003366;} h1 { font:Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, san-serif; color:#336699; text-decoration:underline;} h2 { font:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color:#336699; text-decoration:none;} h3 { font:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-decoration:none;} a { color:#3366CC; text-decoration:none;} a:link { color:#3366CC; text-decoration:none;} a:hover { color:#336699; text-decoration:underline;} ul { list-style-image:url(../images/bullets/bullet1.gif);} ul ul { list-style-image:url(../images/bullets/bullet2.gif);} em { color:#336699; text-decoration:none; } /*** PAGE DIVISIONS ***/ #container { width:772px; height:600px; top:7px; text-align:left; font:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:10px; background-color:#FFFFFF; padding: 10px 10px 10px 10px;} #masthead { height:100px; width: auto;} #navbar { position:relative; top:2px; width:auto; height:15px; padding: 3px 6px 3px 6px; border-top: 2px solid #000033; border-bottom: 2px solid #000033; background-color:#336699; color: #FFFFFF;} #content { position: relative; top: 2px; border-color:#336699; border-style:groove; border-width:1px; width: auto; height: 438px; padding: 10px 7px 10px 12px;} .piece { position:relative; float:left; width: 522px; height: 422px; z-index: 1; padding: 12px 6px 3px 12px; border: 1px solid #000000} .rightspace { position:relative; top: 0px; float:right; width:190px; height:422px; z-index: 2; background-color:#CCCCCC; padding:12px 6px 3px 8px;} #bottombar { height: 12px; margin-top: 12px; top: 12px; border-top: 1px solid #333399; background-color:#00FF33;} also, i don't think i'm using classes properly, but I think I just realised that. midgetporn Hello all, I have bumped into some strange problems. Chrome seems to be viewing my fonts alot thinner/smaller than Safari and Firefox. Is there a method to create consistency and ignoring the webbrowsers standards? Its creating a mess, specially with my text which is using text-shadow. The blur looks like disaster. Thanks in advance. Hey Everyone, I would greatly appreciate any help. I created a drop down menu and it works perfectly on all browsers except for Internet Explorer. The ONLY issue is that it centers the text on the drop down. It should be LEFT aligned. If you see the menu on any other browser EXCEPT for Internet Explorer, you can see how its supposed to look. The drop down menu items should just be left aligned. See: ratemodifiers.com/menu.htm Thanks for all help!! Id appreciate all help! thank you so much I am a photographer for a website and I know very little about anything other than basic html. With the website lady gone on a trip around the world for a year, I ended up being the person to attempt to modify our side menu to show an additional column of subcategories. I tinkered around with the code we had and I managed to get this to work in Firefox, however in IE7 the contents of the menu shift down a few pixels when you hover over a category. To view my problem, go to scannerparts.biz I've messed around with this for a few days and everything has become a big confusing mess so I have no choice but give in and ask for help. I thank anyone in advance for any assistance you can offer. -Emerson Here is the code: hover.css Code: <!-- body { behavior: url(/images/csshover2.htc); } div#categorynav ul {margin: 0px; padding: 0px;} .submenu { position: relative; Hi Y'all I am experiencing some clearance problems in Firefox. The following page: http://temp.awebcompany.net/contact.php The left column ( #left) overlaps the page content (#middle). It all looks nice and clears properly in IE - which I found shocking as I was expecting the problem in IE not FF. Any ideas how to fix this? I have tried the following on #middle and also on #pagecontainer: #middle:after { content: "."; display: block; height: 0; clear: both; visibility:hidden; } Thanks, Vince Hi, I have managed to rewrite my three column navigation page using floated divs instead of its original table (the page was written years ago and I am updating to get away from tables). This was hard for me because I am very new to CSS. My code validated and the page looks fine in IE but in Firefox the third or right column does not clear the middle column. I tried to google the problem but the explanations are way over my head. Also the only way I could get the blue border to not show up in firefox was to add the style directly to the image code. Can someone please help me. The link is www.medeaslair.net/myths.html. In IE half the logo is being cut off and in firefox I have a grey area above the menu bar that shouldn't be there. I have checked both my css and xhtml both validated fine with out any warnings. I'm pretty new to CSS and this is starting to annoy me =\. **WARNING** The site is political in nature. Links to the code: h**p://www [.] dncreform [.] com / t / css / main.css h**p://www [.] dncreform [.] com / t / Thank You, William I've been pulling out my hair trying to figure out what it is i'm doing wrong here. I've been messing with this code and trying different things, but can't seem to figure out what the problem is. One of my divs is not sized properly. Can someone take a quick look and see what it could be? I'd realyl appreciate it. Thanks! http://ritchie.acomp.usf.edu/~lamba/my2.html on this page the image on the left that reads "Grade" is 10px from the side (where it should be) in IE... but in firefox, it isnt 10px from the side... but rather 0px... when i change the margin-right to 20px instead of 10px, it looks fine in Firefox, but 10px too far over in IE. any help would be GREAT thanks look at URL in both IE and Firefox, and see the difference. It's really butchered in Firefox, and I REALLY don't see why. My code seems okay. source: PHP Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>my index...</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="stylesheet.css" /> </head> <body class="body"> {start loop} <div class="content2"> <div class="newsheader"><p class="leftalign"><b>{title}</b></p><p class="rightalign">{author} - {day} / {month} / {year}</p></div> <div class="newscontent">{content}</div> <div class="newsfooter"><p class="rightalign"><a href="{commentsurl}">see comments</a></p></div> </div> {end loop} {next page} </body> </html> CSS: PHP Code: a { color: #000000; text-decoration: underline; } a:hover {color: #808688;} body { background: #F2F0F0; color: #880000; text-align: center; } div.content { border: 1px solid; margin-top: 1px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 5px; padding-left: 0px; padding-top: 2px; padding-bottom: 2px; padding-right: 2px; text-align: center; width: 97%; border-color: #880000; float: inherit; } div.content2 { border: 1px solid; margin-top: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; padding-left: 4px; padding-top: 2px; padding-bottom: 2px; padding-left: 2px; padding-right: 2px; text-align: center; width: 90%; background-color: #C9C9C9; float: inherit; } div.newsheader { margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; width: 100%; background-color: Maroon; border-bottom: 1px solid; padding-bottom: 3px; color: white; float: inherit; } div.newscontent { text-align: justify; padding: 2px; color: black; } div.newsfooter { margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; width: 100%; border-color: Maroon; border-top: 1px solid; padding-bottom: 3px; color: black; float: inherit; } div.container { margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; width: 100%; } p.rightalign { float:right; } p.leftalign { float:left; } if anyone could help.. im losing my calm :P |
