CSS - Inline Select Box And Text
Hello,
I am trying to make a select box (align:left) with link text (align:right) inline. I don't know what the best method would be to do this. I tried using li but it doesn't seem to be working. It looks like it should be simple but for the love of me... it's not working. Can you please show me how? Similar TutorialsHow can i use text-align with inline? So it doesn't line break after, but when you use display:inline with it, it takes away the text-ailgn. Style: Code: .results{text-align: right; display:inline;} h3{text-align: left; display:inline;} html Code: <H3>Audio</H3><p class="results">Displaying Results</p> Hey everybody, First off I'll show you the page I'm referring to he http://jordanmeeter.com/creativity/design/flower/ What I want to do is take a "preview" of that image and make it 50x50 or so... And put it to the left of the description and have the text go around it. How would I do this with CSS? I think the word I'm looking for is I want it "inline" with the text. Thank you in advance. :] a div works with this style, but a span does not. i want part to be left (defalut by the css file style applied), and then the inline span style to be to the right. not working: Code: echo "<a title='".$link['desc']."' href='".$linkurl."' class='cmenulink'>".$link['title']."</a>"; echo "<span style='text-align: right; padding: 1px;'>In: ".$link['in']." Out: ".$link['out']."</span><br />"; if you don't know php... Code: <a title='abc' href='abc.com' class='cmenulink'>ABC</a> <span style='text-align: right; padding: 1px;'>In: 999 Out: 999</span><br /> can someone help me with this? here is the page&css I have been working on... the page file the css file I might be silly to use a template that I did on illustrator (with all the banner, boxes and navbar read and just use that as my container background. then I made some transparent boxes for puting in text, images or form elements. Is that why I am not able to select any other those things on the site? this is the first time I try using css to make the whole webpage, so I would appreciate any guidance...thanks!! PROBLEM: I create a nice button using the sliding doors technique for rounded corners. But the button displays with 100% width unless I float it. My layout requires that the buttons be inline with the text, so floating won't work. Anyone know an alternative? I wouldn't mind floating but I want the button to show inline with the text. When I use float:left, it removes it from the inline flow. Basically, I want a very modular button that can be used in several different places on a page. In many cases, floating is fine because the mockup has it out of the inline text, but I want to use it there, too. Here's the HTML: <a class="button" href="#"><span>Update Profile</span></a> Here's the css: a.button:link, a.button:visited { background:url(button_right.gif) no-repeat right top; } a.button span:hover, a.button span:active { background:url(button_left_hover.gif) no-repeat right top; } a.button span { background:url(button_left.gif) no-repeat left top; color:#fff; cursorointer; display:block; height:20px; line-height:20px; margin:0 2px 0 0; padding:0 10px; position:relative; white-space:nowrap; } Hi, I'm having a slight problem with my css. I want to display a comment with a number of images to the right of it. e.g "Excellent" plus 5 stars next to it (note: images of stars) so i tried this: Code: <div id = "commentText"> Excellent </div> <div id = "star"> </div> <div id = "star"> </div> <div id = "star"> </div> <div id = "commentText"> Fantastic </div> <div id = "star"> </div> <div id = "star"> </div> <div id = "star"> </div> <div id = "star"> </div> css Code: #commentText { font-size: 100%; color: #000000; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-weight: normal; padding-left: 30px; } #star { display: inline; height: 24px; background-image: url(images/star.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; padding-left: 20px; } I currently have comment with 3 stars displayed underneath it - however they are only half being shown for some reason. Any help is appreciated to help me get the desired effect. Thanks! Whats the best way to align text in select option drop downs that works also in I.E. 6 and 7 as well Thanks how can you specify a new font size in a select list. I need to make the items appearing in that list smaller than they already are. Hey, y'all, can you help me out here? Well, first, here's an example I'd like to accomplish at http://www.sparkplug.com/ I'd like to type the text OVER or ON an image but it's not part of the image so you can highlight it. I found some examples from Google using layers, however, these layers are positioned differently using different browsers. I tested using Firefox, IE 6 and Safari. I'm pretty sure that a 'professional' website like sparkplug does not use an amateur-ish technique as layers. :S. P.S Don't suggest me to include the text IN the image, lol, that's not what I would like. -Respect & thanks! New to this but with due diligence, will learn this......I have built asp update form to allow users to enter new data into the database. They are wanting to change new text entries into blue rather than using the default color (black). This highlights those new entries for those reviewing the data. I have googled for methods ranging from radio buttons to check boxes to define a new font color with no luck so far....any help is greatly appreciated............best case I think, would be a font tool bar added to the form, but have not found that method thanks Hello everyone, I'm working on this page http://jordanmeeter.com/photos/sets/ and I want to get the set description inline with the <h2>. I can just baaaaarely remember how to do it, but everything I'm trying doesn't work. Can someone help me out? Thanks, Jordan I am new to this forum and need some help! I am creating a page and the sidebar has links. I have a graphic link that I DO NOT want highlighted. I have tried everything I can think of, but I don't think I am able to apply the link styling as an inline style, or am I wrong. Any help would be appreciated! http://annesweb.com/abramoff/ I need to style all images within a div. For example, I want to do something like this: <div style="img{border: 0;}"> <img src="" /> <img src="" /> <img src="" /> </div> But that does not seem to work. Is it this possible with css? It is for an ebay template, so I don't think I can reference a separate stylesheet. thanks. Charley Got a quick question from a newbie. Thanks to a kind member, I've just been assisted in creating my first HTML5/CSS 3.0 page. It has a footer that extends vertically with content. I have several pages that will be updated that will be changed frequently. In my world of tables, I would simply create an inline frame to display them, and have ease of quick editing. The questions I have are 1) is there a CSS alternative to have mulitlple links display different content in a particular frame or div? 2) With either that alternative OR inline frames, is there a way to make it dynamic, meaning instead of scrolling, it extends downward and pushes the footer down as content grows? 3) if so, how would I accomplish this? This is bugging me to death. I cannot get these to top elements to display inline. If anyone could take a look in firebug to see element and related css applied and tell me whats wrong. The page is: http://travelmagoo.com/index.php?option=com_resource&controller=article&article=384&category_id=201&Itemid=0 at the top header there is a title and to the right there is an image. I would like the image and title to be on the same line but everything i do will not let me do this. any ideas? Hi, i have to display a list of links horizontally, wrapped in a <ul> tag. For seo reasons now these links have to be wrapped in <h2> tags. In IE6 + IE7 this causes a linebreak and the links are displayed in a vertical list. sth like #myId LI { display:inline-block; } #myId LI H2{ display:inline-block; } solves the problem for Firefox but not for IEs. Do you know a solution? Would be highly appreciated! here the html <ul id='myId'> <li><h2><a htref=...>somewhere</a></h2></li> <li><h2><a htref=...>somewhere</a></h2></li> </ul> OK Found out a float:left in the li was missing Hi there... Simply enough, I'd like to get my column widths (for the "menu" and "content" div's) appearing in IE5+ as they do in Firefox. URL: http://www.cbaa.org.au/3cfor_web/ejournal_header.html CSS: http://www.cbaa.org.au/3cfor_web/layout2.css I've tried this technique: http://glish.com/css/hacks.asp but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help greatly appreciated. I'm having trouble getting the following to work im = image Code: im im <div id = "controlText">Variable Length Text</div> im im my style info Code: #controlText{ position:inline; text-align:center width:200px } I know that once I turn the div into an inline element I throw away the width which is what my problem seems to be. What is happening is you click forward (these are calendar controls) one month and then the text is short and your mouse is now over the year forward button which you then accidently click. I want the div or whichever tag to alwasy have the same width no matter what the text. Is there any other way to get this to work than multiple floated divs? The Problem: I want my logo (a gif image) to justify to the left but padding centers it. Is there a way to NOT pad one "cell" in an inline navigation bar using css without affecting the rest which follow (which are padded)? Please email me for urls to see exactly what I'm working with. Many thanks in advance! |
