HTML - Problem With Include File
Dear Members:
I have a funny problem. I have two html files. I am trying to use test2.html as an Include file inside test1.html. I am not having any luck test1.html file reading test2.html. May be it is a simple issue. But I tried everything. Both files reside on the same directory. If anybody could give me a suggestion, I shall truly appreciate it. When I run the main file above with the include statement the contents of the test file will not appear. I've tried using #include virtual and I get the same results. both files reside in the same directory. How can I get the above files to work. I'm working with windows XP on a home computer. This problem occured in my actual website files becasue I want to include a header and a footer. These files of course have table tags etc in them and I get the same results where the include files contents do appear. I need help asap if that is possible. Trying to use this function i used the one it gives you in dreamweaver but it never seems to work. It will show in the preview on dreamweaver but when i run the .html file the content of the file that was included does not show. Here is what i used... Greetings I don't understand php at all and i have page in HTML. Now i have this guestbook script that i would really much like to add to the html page, so what now? My apache server can handle php and everything in the server end is right, but when i put this in to my html page: include($path."comment.php"); Nothing happens, now i suspect that i need to turn the whole page in to PHP. However i don't know how to do this, could anyone tell me how do i turn this page to PHP and get it to work? What is the code i need to put in to my html page? Turhamuro Hi guys, I have a div on my page, which essentially just places a layer/table over the entire page and displays a "LOADING..." message, then promptly disappears when everything hidden beneath it has finished loading. I want to use this same div in several other pages, so I thought the best way would be to place it in an external file, then simply call it when required. Can someone please tell me how I can do this, i.e. what code I need to place in my HTML script to call an external div? I apologise if this is an obvious newbie-style question! I want to include a footer.dwt file inside my html file...... I want to implement the footer.dwt file for all the pages of website....so i just want to call the footer.dwt file below my html page...... Help? I created a decent layout for a website using DIV layers with no problems. As the website is getting larger, adjusting certain elements on each page is very time consuming so today started using PHP includes. All I have done so far is change the file extension from .HTML to .PHP (I would later use the PHP include to pop the DIV layer with the menu onto a separate .PHP file to make it easier to add and edit it - had I have got that far ) I have changed none of the script on the file, only the extention, but one of my DIV layers has lost it's size and position (which was controlled by an external CSS).... I tried iframe and was displeased with the results, I want the size of the frame to change dynamically and not just scroll. Fair warning, my knowledge of JavaScript is non-existent >_> . Basically, I have a document written in HTML (please don't suggest a wholesale re-write, that's simply not practical) and the idea is to have one file where it makes sense to include it several times. One thing to mention, this document is not meant to be shown on a web-server, but in a browser while you're reading it off your hard-drive. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, help appreciated! right now i've only got 1 line of code in my css file and that code is div { background-color: #FCOC00 } do you need to put your codes in some sort of table or open / closed code thing with brackets or something ?? cuz with that code just the way it is when i view in fire fox IE and netscape.... all is good, when i view in opera though i get this image... i hosted the image since not every1 has opera... http://img104.imageshack.us/my.php?i...raissuerg5.gif the "Home" is tabed back like that for some reason that space was never there it was as tight as could be to the text with that table... any advice on how i can fix this? maby i can center the tables threw the .css and call that up to fix it... I am using <embed> and <bgsound> . is there any way to play sound in mozilla urgent. please help On the website host i use i can put the location of the file (example, images/banner.png) but how do i get it from a diffferent file. like if the file i need is in the images file but my html file is in the "javascript" file Here is kinda what i mean. this shows where the files kind of a ( ">" points to the file in that folder ) javascript > index.html images > banner.png .. so how do i get the image from the image file without having to put the full url to it? because i cant put "images/banner.png" cause its going to think the image file is in the "javascript" (its going to go to "javascript/images/banner.png", instead of just "images/banner.png)file since the html file is in the "javascript" file and not the main page. if you dont understand this tell me and ill try to explain it better, i tryed to make it as clear as i could. http://americancreek.com/inmedia/tre...ek/player.html I am having trouble with an articulate file. If you view the link above, the articulate file will not play automatically, it says "paused". If you click play, it will not play. If you click refresh, the file will begin playing. Unsure why it will not play automatically. I am very new to HTML coding, so please be patient. My problem is this: I made a relative link via an Anchor tag to a .zip file, intending it (the .zip file) to be a download. When I access the link, instead getting a File Download alert box ( [run][save][cancel] ,which is what I wanted) the contents of the .zip file are displayed in the IE7 window. Is this normal? When I make the same link to an .exe file, I get the (desired) File Download alert box. However some users report that they get a distorted page and nothing works. I am using XP and Vista with IE7. My html file is present in a folder with folder structure like "E:\UsersReport". Inside this folder there is another folder named "Image". This folder contains JPEG images. The html file contains href relative links to the images in this "Image" folder. The relative links are given as href = ".\Image\A.jpg". In the converted html files, the relative links is not working. For accesing the images we need to give the full image path in mht files. Is there any method to give relative links in mht files???
