Similar TutorialsIn my website I want to show several art projects. Each project page should look exactly the same, however have different pictures and text. Therefore is it possible to create some sort of html template which takes 4 pictures and some text and will output the right format. The reason for this is that if i decide I want to change the format of the project page, I only have to edit one template instead of several project pages. Thanks in advance Calypso Hi, I'm looking at creating a website for a university assignment, and am not allowed to create the code in Dreamweaver. Is there any way to store the constant layout components in one file, referenced by each separate page in the site, so I wouldn't need to go through each page to edit the design after I've built it? Put another way, is it possible to use template-style files to apply to HTML pages, without using the Dreamweaver's built-in varieties? If this is possible in JavaScript or PHP instead of HTML, please let me know. Thanks for your help, Christian I am having some problems with my template, I have to upload it a few times before it work. Seems like when I've edited and upload it, it doesn't change the files link to it. This can't be due to me linking them wrongly, cause they used to work before after a few tries. But i've been trying for a few days with no success. Any advice? Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nevermind i managed to solve it, I have to click save instead of letting dreamweaver do it automatically before it automatically updates the rest of the link file. I am not sure what I am doing wrong with this page but the validation fails. Any help? I need a simple html teplate page for ebay and Craigslist posting. Css cannot be a seeperat file. Coding as to be basic for criaglist. What is a good source for template like this? HI, Can anybody recommend a gadget for Previewing / Thumbnailing HTML templates on my hard drive. I have lots of index.html pages in different folders and I'm looking for a way to flick through them, rather than having to go in and open the files individually. REally, I don't have that much time to be an expert at HTML or CSS - but was wondering what CMS' are quick to learn that has a lot of templates. I know WordPress is one - just wondering if there are anymore...I'm sure there is. I m wondering which hmtl editors everyone here prefers. I have downloaded HTML-Kit & Page Breeze but I am not the sharpest tool & I end up getting frustrated as I need a more user friendly editor. Something for the ADHD adult I really won't be using advanced things like media for now, only basic HTML & CSS. What I am trying to accomplish is to get a website done without media or movable images. Also, someone told me that there are some editors which come with ready made commands, for e.g maybe such as creating a table by just clicking anywhere. Of course, I will have to specify other things. Are there any editors which automate a lot of your work & save time? Thanks a lot. Howdy everyone! I'm a noob here and I'm at my wits end. The real problem here is that I know just enough to get myself into trouble, but no concept on how to dig myself out of it. The website I'm working on is he http://www.psychological-warfare.com My problem is that it looks OK in Explorer, but looks like a trainwreck in Firefox. It was designed by retrofitting a template I bought years ago, so it's like trying to decipher the amatuer translation of a Russian mad scientist's codex. I apologize in advance. I've been moving DIV's back and forth for days and Explorer doesn't seem to care. Things just keep getting worse and worse in Firefox. I think the main issue is that I have a left column and then the header that spans the middle and right columns. I can see how Firefox might hate that... The next problem (and I'm hoping someone might have an idea on this): I used a modern header calling this whole mess XHTML. I know exactly squat about the differences between HTML and XHTML except that XHTML loves to have everything "/>"ed. Would all of this work if the header called it transitional HTML and give myself a little leeway? What code should be at the top of my page? Thanks everyone for the help. I wish I could buy everyone a beer! Does anybody here have any examples of websites constructed ONLY using HTML/CSS? I would like to look at the source code and the files, and see how it's been made. What I am asking of you pros on this site is: 1) suggest a good html creating software..somthing easy to understand and use for a beginner. 2) suggest some websites which give free megabites for you to start your site. I'm not very tech savvy so this is probably why I'm about to lose my mind trying to figure out the solution to my problem.... I would like a good software program where I can create templates in html format so that I can email for marketing purposes. I've tried a few online services and their limitations have me beating my head against the wall. I don't know html code. And I don't need to build a website. And I don't want to spend an outrageous amount of money. But I do want to create a template that will get to someones inbox, not junk mail, and arrive without attachments. I need the software to be user friendly & have an easy interface where I can easily edit using a visual editing tool. Does that exist? Any advice would be very much appreciated Can anyone recommend a good tutorial site for learning HTML? I'm just starting out. Free is good, but I know you get what you pay for, so if the tutorials are good, I wouldn't mind paying for something of good quality. I don't want to get in over my head too soon and get discouraged. I'd really like to find some video tutorials. Thanks. Hi, I am new and have just started learning basic HTML on w3schools.com. Is this a reliable website with accurate HTML tutorials? Hey, i have an idea regarding html templates and im not sure whether its a bad way to use html or good idea, my idea is that you make or download a template and set it as your background, then you just add the content over the boxes and stuff where it needs to go. also if thats bad html then how do you set out a template with all the content not messing up the page. all opinions greatly appreciated. I've made a lot of progress on my website: Bands 4 Babes but I'm still struggling with getting everything to look the same on all the different browsers. Basically what I'm finding is: Chrome and Safari (PC) - Displays exactly as I want it to Firefox 3.5.2 (PC) - Displays properly except for the Home link in the purple bar is a few PX too far left and the --- above home is a line too high Firefox and Safari on Mac - FF exhibit the same problem as above, but most fonts (sizes and faces) are off on the mac versions. This also throws off alignments of other stuff. IE8 - Two solid lines on top and bottom of page are a few pixels too low which ruins the continuity of the box frame I created. If somebody could take a look at my code and give me some thoughts on what the problem is I would really appreciate it. Thanks. I'm not sure if this is in the correct section, but what is the use of a template in PSD form with all the layers in it? Can any one direct me to a tutorial on coding xhtml editable templates. ( or give me advice) I used to use dreamweaver to build templates but I haven't bothered to up date it instead I am using HTML-kit. What I liked about dreamweaver was that you could build a template and apply it to every page so you only had to alter the template not every page. I am fine using css for style. its building a template for the repeating elements of each page like links etc and then adding editable regions. I would would like the freedom to build my own rather than use pre made ones. Thanks I'm trying to put together a website to sell my Wedding products...does anybody know of a website where I can find free wedding templates? |
