Hello everyone, would someone please help me with just vertically centering the text within the box that says "This page was last updated on Monday, May 16, 2011 @ 10:39 AM" it's for my site located @ http://www.trillionaireme.com
Here is my CSS code: Code: body {background-color:#ffffff;border-style:solid;border-width:5px;border-color:gray;border-bottom-color:#ffffff;border-left-color:#ffffff;border-right-color:#ffffff;} h1 {background-color:#f5f5f5;font-size:17px; color:grey; font-family:arial;word-spacing:30px;text-align:center;} h2 {font-size:17px; color:grey; font-family:arial;word-spacing:30px;text-align:center;} p {font-size:11px; color:grey; font-family:arial;} p.bordertop {border-style:solid;border-width:5px;border-color:gray;border-top-color:#ffffff;border-left-color:#ffffff;border-right-color:#ffffff;} p.borderbottom {border-style:solid;border-width:5px;border-color:gray;border-bottom-color:#ffffff;border-left-color:#ffffff;border-right-color:#ffffff;} IMG.displayed {display:block; margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto;} a:link {color:grey; text-decoration:none;} a:visited {color:grey; text-decoration:none;} a:hover {color:#c0c0c0; text-decoration:none;} a:active {color:#c0c0c0;text-decoration:none;} div.page {width:920px;padding:0px;border:0px;margin:0px auto;} div.logo {width:200px;padding:0px;border:0px;margin:0px auto;} div.topleftbox {width:250px;height:250px;padding:0px;border:1px;border-style:solid;border-color:#dcdcdc;position:relative;top:20px;left:1px;font-size:11px;color:grey; font-family:arial;} div.topmiddlebox {text-align: center;width:375px;height:25px;padding:0px;border:1px;border-style:solid;border-color:#dcdcdc;position:relative;top:-15px;left:270px;font-size:11px;color:grey;font-family:arial;text-align:center;margin-} div.toprightbox {width:250px;height:250px;padding:0px;border:1px;border-style:solid;border-color:#dcdcdc;position:relative;top:-15px;left:394px;font-size:11px;color:grey;font-family:arial;text-align:right;} My html code: Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html><title>TrillionaireMe</title><link rel="shortcut icon" href="images/trillionaireme.ico"> <head><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="trillionaireme.css" /></head><body> <h1> </h1><div class="logo"><a href="http://www.trillionaireme.com"> <img class="displayed" src="http://www.trillionaireme.com/images/trillionaireme.jpg" width="196" height="233" border="0" /></a></div> <h1> </h1> <p class="borderbottom"> </p> <div class="page"><h2> <a href="http://www.trillionaireme.com/fitness.html">Fitness</a> <a href="http://www.trillionaireme.com/nutrition.html">Nutrition</a> <a href="http://www.trillionaireme.com/money.html">Money</a> <a href="http://www.trillionaireme.com/relationships.html">Relationships</a> <a href="http://www.trillionaireme.com/parenting.html">Parenting</a> <a href="http://www.trillionaireme.com/music.html">Music</a> <a href="http://www.trillionaireme.com/literature.html">Literature</a> <a href="http://www.trillionaireme.com/you.html">You</a> <a href="http://www.trillionaireme.com/them.html">Them</a> <a href="http://www.trillionaireme.com/vision.html">Vision</a></h2> </div> <div class="page"> <div class="topleftbox">This is the top left box. <div class="topmiddlebox">This page was last updated on Monday, May 16, 2011 @ 10:39 AM <div class="toprightbox">This is the top right box. </div></div></div></div> </body></html> Similar TutorialsHello, I have been struggling with a "dead center" align for some time now, and because I am not such a skilled html code creator, I decided to apply for some help, I'll try to be as explicit as I can be. I have a simple html page, created with Dreamweaver CS3, and I've imported a Flash object, created with Flash 8. All I want is to align this movie horizontally as well as vertically, and when the page loads I have to send the focus to the flash movie, so that the visitor won't have to click on the flash movie in order to receive the focus. I can center align the flash like this: Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <!-- PICHI Media (c) 2008 All Rights Reserved --><HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Always Follow Dreams</TITLE> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"><style type="text/css"> <!-- html, body { height:100%; width:100%; overflow:auto; } body,td,th { color: #000000; } body { background-color: #FFFFFF; background-image: url(); } a:link { color: #000000; } a:visited { color: #000000; } a:hover { color: #000000; } a:active { color: #000000; } .style4 {font-size: 9px; font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;} #apDiv1 { position:absolute; width:324px; height:25px; z-index:1; left: 354px; top: 303px; background-color: #000000; visibility: hidden; } --> </style> <script src="Scripts/AC_ActiveX.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <head> </head> <BODY> <CENTER> <DIV align=right></DIV> </CENTER> <TABLE height="100%" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" align=center border=0> <TBODY> <TR> <TD width="0" height="0" align=center vAlign=middle> <P align="center"> </script><script type="text/javascript"> AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0','width','400','height','440','src','test','quality','high','pluginspage','http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash','movie','test' ); //end AC code </script><noscript> <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0" width="400" height="440" id="test" > <param name="movie" value="test.swf"> <param name="quality" value="high"> <embed movie src="test.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="400" height="440"></embed> </object> </noscript></P> </TD> </TR></TBODY></TABLE> </BODY></HTML> As you can see this source code will center align both ways horizontally and vertically. I belive this is doing the job: Code: <TABLE height="100%" cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" align=center border=0> <TBODY> <TR> <TD width="0" height="0" align=center vAlign=middle> <P align="center"> Aligment sorted now let's get to the focus part. When the page loads I want to set the focus to the flash movie, and now I don't mean to remove that rectagle we all see in SP2 and IE7. No not that, that's easy to remove with some code. What I want is the actually focus in a text field in my flash movie. I can do this with the following code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> <script src="Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js" type="text/javascript"></script> </head> <body onLoad="window.document.test.focus();"> <center> <table width="100%" height="100%" align="center"> <tr> <td valign="middle" align="center"> <script type="text/javascript"> AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase','http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0','name','test','width','400','height','440','id','test','title','test', 'src','test','quality','high','pluginspage','http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash','movie','test' ); //end AC code </script><noscript><object classid="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0" name="test" width="400" height="440" id="test" title="test"> <param name="movie" value="test.swf" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <embed src="test.swf" width="400" height="440" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" name="test"></embed> </object></noscript> </center> </td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> The focus part works with this i believe: <body onLoad="window.document.test.focus();"> where TEST is the ID of my flash movie. BUT, the movie is not vertically align. It still is horizontally, but not vertically. And this is my problem. If I combine the two examples, the one where the content is dead center, and the one where I set the focus to the flash movie it won't work, and I get this error: 'window.document.test' is null or not an object This page is right now on my site: http://www.danandrei.ro And if you double click on the small browser icon from the lower left corner, you know the one that shows error messajes like "DONE but with some errors". you can see what I mean. My question is: IS IT POSSIBLE TO BOTH CENTER ALIGN, HOR AND VERT, AND ALSO SET FOCUS TO THE FLASH MOVIE ? IF SO, DO YOU GUYS HAVE ANY CLUE HOW ? Thank you. i'm having no luck vertically aligning the text in the MIDDLE within the <td>. Notice how it is aligned TOP in the rollover state. See code below, please help. --- <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>javascript free td link</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="application/xhtml+xml; charset=utf-8" /> <style type="text/css"> #cell { width:278px; height:25px; } #cell2 { width:278px; height:25px; } a#roll { display:block; width:278px; height:25px; background:#FFFFFF; text-align:left; text-decoration:none; font-family:arial; font-size:14px; color:#FF0000; } a#roll:hover { background:#FF0000; color:#FFFFFF; } </style> </head> <body> <table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td id="cell"><a id="roll"href="http://www.google.com"> HOME</a></td> </tr> <tr> <td id="cell2"><a id="roll"href="http://www.google.com"> ABOUT</a></td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> Hello to all Forum members. It's my first post here. I have a problem on my site using FF 2.0 and opera. When you open http://review4dummies.com/test/index.php you see it has horizontal alignment = center, but when you click on link About Us the site will move about 10 pixels to the right and of course its centered but... huh not exactly. When you browse and click on link Contact Us its back to normal. Clicking on report-a-bug does not move site too. I was checking whole code and noticed that if i add some paragraphs and blank tables to the about-us.php file everything seems to be ok. This is driving me nuts, any help will be apreciated. PS: in ie6 everyting seems to be ok. PS2: I also noticed this bug on some sites: eg. home.pl when you click on menulink "Praca" it will move horizontaly too. eg2. nazwa.pl when you click on menulink "KONTAKT" it will move too. Anybody? Best Regards! here is the (ineffective) code currently: <img style="float: left; width: 169px; height: 73px;" src="img/logo1.png" alt="" /> <h1 style="text-align: center;">random text</h1> the image shifts the left margin such that the text is centered as though the page width was 169px less than it really is. i'm not debating the code itself; the code above behaves as its meant to. aka no surprises. i just cant figure out the appropriate code to center the text across the entire real width of the page as though there was no image. i've tried div tags & all the things google hunting advised. no luck. other than finding this forum, which seems like it'll be a boon! thanx in advance for advise/comments/feedback/help. hi i am new to HTML, but a quick learner. i am really stuck though.....i am trying to change the font and size on a simple paragraph on my website.....here is the HTML i put in <p align=center> <font size="4" face="century gothic" > ********** my text ********* l</font> but now the lines in the paragraph are really squished together vertically......is there a HTML code i am missing to add in here is a link to see what it looks like.....http://www.cocosshoppe.com/store/eco...?idCategory=76 Please find it in your really smart hearts to help me ;J Hi, I just thought I'd jump right in with my query. I'm looking to make Text in a table cell vertical, I've come up with solution of inserting <br />'s after each letter <table> <tr><th class="green">O<br />n<br />e</th> <th>Two</th> <th>Three</th></tr> </table> but I just wanted to know, is there a way of achieving this without doing this, can I control the size of the cell with css? thanks htmlhex I have a mobile application and the text is top aligned in the Blue division rather than centered: <div class="header"> <span style="">TREO 600 LITIGATION</span> </div> Not sure what to put in the Span tag. .header { height: 2.0em; background-color: blue; text-align: center; color: white; font-weight: bold; } And I am viewing this as a Mobile application on an iPhone. Todd i want to space out my text a bit more, i think it's too close together but i dont' know how to fix it, please help! http://leilanimunter.com/news.htm THANK YOU!!! hello all, I found a simple effect that make the text scroll vertical which it's prefect for my website. Code: <div align="center"> <marquee scrollamount="2" direction="up" loop="true" width="35%"> <center> THIS IS COOL </center> </marquee> </div> the thing is, how can I make it stop on RollOver / hover Hi everyone, I am working on a table for a future website and I need some help. I need to make the text at the top vertical, as in taking the word and turning it 90 degrees to the left. The best way for me to explain this is to show u the problem/test page. http://aquariachat.com/bigchangesare...chartfeb23.php I am making the chart/table in a simple html editor if that information is of any use. Thanks a lot, Drew How I can set the scrool bar so that the vertical bar will show? When the typed text exceeds the horizontal space area, cursor will be moved into next line without hitting the Enter key. I've got a line of text that includes some IMG tags. The images are 23 pixels high and the text is about 16 pixels high. So the IMGs increase the height of the line. Normally, Text and IMGs are aligned to "the bottom", so that the IMGs are much taller than the text. I could increase the size of the text so that it was as tall as the IMGs, but I'd rather not. I want the text to be vertically aligned to the "middle", so that the line looks better. Is that possible? hey guys, In order to align text isnt the command something like this? <h3 align="center">Text Here</h3> Is this right? I know its something really simple just for some reason I cannot get my text to center in the webpage. Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance! I am trying to do something pretty basic, but I dont understand the behavior or how to fix it. I want something to look like (where the '*' are centered): Code: * * test * * * * and am using the code: Code: <CENTER>*</CENTER> <CENTER>*</CENTER> test<CENTER>*</CENTER> <CENTER>*</CENTER> <CENTER>*</CENTER> <CENTER>*</CENTER> But the output looks like: Code: * * test * * * * I have found out that the <center> tag </center> is now obseolete eventhough broswers still display it. I was wondering on how i go about centering text so that it does validate according to xhtml standards. Thanks. Hi, I recently taught my self HTML and CSS so i'm still a bit shaky i started making a website to practice. i made a website with a top nav bar and a side nav bar. i can't seem to get my text to sit in the corner of both like in most websites it just seems to sit in the middle of the vertical side bar here is my HTML code and CSS code HTML Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <title>Testing... 1 2 3</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type"text/css" href="CSS1.css" /> </head> <body> <h1> Testing Website </h1> <ul id="nav-list"> <li><A href=Home>Home</A></li> <li><A href=HTML>HTML</A></li> <li><A href=CSS>CSS</A></li> <li><A href=JavaScript>JavaScript</A></li> <li><A href=XML>XML</A></li> <li><A href=PHP>PHP</A></li> <li><A href=SQL>SQL</A></li> </ul> <ul id="side-bar"> <li><b>HTML Intro</b></li> <li><A href=SQL>HTML Home</A></li> <li><A href=SQL>Intro</A></li> <li><A href=SQL>Getting Started</A></li> <li><b>Basics</b></li> <li><A href=SQL>Basics</A></li> <li><A href=SQL>Elements</A></li> <li><a href=SQL>Attributes</a></li> </ul> <p> lets have a look </p> </body> </html> HTML Code: @charset "utf-8"; /* CSS Document */ body { background-color:black; color:white; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; } h1 { text-align:center; } ul#nav-list { list-style: none; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 750px; height: 20px; } ul#nav-list li { display:inline; } ul#nav-list li a { text-decoration:none; padding:5px 0; width:100px; background: #999; color:#fff; float:left; text-align:center; border-left:1px solid #000; } ul#nav-list li a:hover { background-color:#666; } ul#side-bar { list-style: none; margin:0; padding:0; width: 100px; } ul#side-bar li a { text-decoration:none; padding:5px 5px; background:#999; color:#FFF; float:left; width: 90px; text-align: center; margin-right: 20px; } ul#side-bar li a:hover { background:#666; } p { color:#FFF; } Hi All As the thread title suggests, I'm trying to vertical-align the text in a submit button - see attached. The html and css I'm using is below. I've tried wrapping spans around the value and altering the padding (which looks better but makes the onclick outline appear half-way up the button). Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Steve The html is Code: print("<input class='mybtn' SIZE='5' type='submit' name='storedatabase' value='Store Database'>"); The CSS is Code: .mybtn { width: 120px; height: 21px; border-style: outset; border-color: red; font-size: 12px; color: #000000; background-color: rgb(250, 240, 230); border: 1px 1px 1px 1px; outline: 10px; text-align: center; } when i center the search and quick link box at the top using a line height of 100.... it pushes the header image down 12px's... and spaces the header from the body of the page... any fix? http://www.pzproductions.com/home I would like to have vertical scrolling in a table cell. The cell may be empty or may contain up to 2000 characters. If it does contain more than will fit in the horizontal space I'd like it to wrap and be visible, pushing the next row down so the cell displays the whole set of text within the cell area. Only then should the scrollbar show up. If the user enters data, I'd like it to do the same thing. Wrap on word boundaries and stay visible rather than scrolling a single line horizontally. Can I do this in html? Or, at worst, with a little CSS? Or, even worse, very simple javascript? |
