HTML - Import Data From Another Website?
Is this possible using HTML? I am posting my stock portfolio online, and I want to have current prices of stocks. For example, I own McDonalds stock and I want to report the price of the stock from http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=mcd&ql=1 . Is this possible?
Thanks in advanced! Similar TutorialsHey all, here is my question, I have built a website for the company I work for, they are an HR firm and one of their functions is personnel placement. I added a Vacancies page where they post a list of vacancies for certain jobs, but now I have to update that page manually every week and this is becoming somewhat tedious, so what I want to know is the following, is there a way that I can build a table on the page where each cell in the table downloads data from a specific cell in a spreadsheet that I can upload, so instead of changing the page every week, I have the placements staff update the data in the spreadsheet and E-mail that to me, where I upload the spreadsheet to the site and the data in the cells just change automatically to reflect the new vacancies? Hey, I'm making a website about a television show. I want to show the broadcast times of the TV show, the times can be found on the website of the television company. http://www.zappelin.nl/pororo Under the bit where it says: ''Volgende Aflevering'' it shows the date of the next episode. Whenever the episode is over it automatically changes to the next broadcast time. I want to just show this information on my website too, how would I go about this? Thanks! I'm not very good at HTML and such so if someone could give a step-by-step explanation I'd very much appreciate it. Hello everyone, I was thinking if there is a way to import text into my web page using html. I simply need text from several text files to appear in my div container. And what I don't want is to copy/paste whole text in html. I just want the text to be in separate files, not html. I heard I can do that with php, maybe there is a way to do that using html only? My Blog's URL: http://moviesamour.blogspot.com/ I just created this blog. I'm not sure if the feed isn't working due to the fact that I used a downloaded skin and the coding is off, or what, but it isn't validating when I try to link it to Facebook notes (or when I put it into feed validator, for that matter). I really don't know much about coding, so all help is appreciated! I currently own some web space which supports upto 6 domain names. I'm already using one, we'll call it FIRST.com which works fine. During this week i purchased a new domain name lets say called SECOND.com. Using CPanel I was able to create an addon domain which automatically sets the root directory of the new domain to a folder called SECOND.com The problem I am having is that although if I type into my browser SECOND.com (and having set my .htaccess file) I get my index.html page with text, no images or CSS styles have been applied. Links to other pages work however, even if they are in sub directories. For some reason I just cannot link images or CSS files, yet if I type their path into the browser they are displayed, does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance Rev Can a web page import another page or document at the time of loading. I have 10 web pages almost identical consisting of a menu and a DIV with infomation in it. This information is different for every page and can vary from half a page to 10 pages. I dont want any frames or set sizes it must flow as if it were entered in the DIV. Or if not an editor that can load as above then be saved with it in. Open office writer does this by using "Section". Unfortunately it can't cope with CSS3 and screws my code. Thank you for any help. I am a retired Dos system programmer with a passing knowledge of html. So I've got a form with some input text. In addition to the data in the input text I want to send some other data that has already been predetermined on initial page load. How would I declare the other data within the form element? Thanks Hi Experts, I am designing a webpage where based on the year selection the associated years webtable needs to be displayed in the webpage. Pls give som suggestions and if possible the code on to how to code this using HTML and Jav Script. I know I have to write afunction and then call the fn based on the input.but need your help on this. Thanks, Bsquare Hi How to add a website counter to my website. So that when ever a visitor visits the website I want the counter to increase say from 101 to 102 and then for a new visitor it should be 103 and then again for the next visitor 104 and so on..... I want to know the code. There are number of websites that are offering this but they put their advertisement which I don't want Hi, I am trying to find a way in which a website that is linked on my homepage can be opened while keeping at least one form of my homepage open as well. e.g.: Google images :http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...en-us%26sa%3DG sorry for the massive link. Hope you get the idea. So what i want is to have a bar on top that is my homepage (like the google bar in the link), but the rest is the actual website that has been linked. I don't really care much about the url. It doesn't have to be my homepage url, it can be the actual website url. Google has been able to do that somehow, so it is possible. I would just like to know how and if it is hard to do. If someone knows how to do it, it would be great if you could give me a link to a tutorial, or explain it. thanks hello, i need a website for german customers, somethign like www.podmod.de because i would like to offer the same. So if anyone has an idea where to start, or even can offer me something i can buy, please do so. my email: verenamueller999@web.de thanks verena. I have some links (in the header, the SUPPORTERS) to different websites, but when I click on them the address in the address bar does not change to the address of the website that I clicked. How do I make it show the address that I clicked on? Thanks. http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~fencing/ I am a total noob but volunteered to administrate the website, because there was no one else to do it. I have been using my site for some time now and it carries the image name over when you clicked on purchasing the print. It carries it still, but when you submit the form, the image name isnt there and the form errors because the field is blank. Here is the site: www.sthompsonphoto.com I cant seem to figure out why it disappears when you click Submit? Any help would be great! Hi everybody! I have a jsp page with a form and a table. Hello, I am trying to place my image map information on a separate html file and call it as you would call a stylesheet so I can change it across the entire site without doing it per page with something like: "<link href="global.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />" is this possible? thankyou Hi, I am currently working on designing a website that provides tools for students to manage their school work and would like someone to help me write the HTML code. I can provide you with the layout design and we can work out a price. Please email me at riddler2037@yahoo.com if you're interested. Thanks So i am making a site in dreamweaver but i am having a little trouble. My website looks different in dreamweaver, than it does outside of it. Here's how i want it to look But outside of dreamweaver it looks like this Any ideas why it is doing this? Hi all im new to the forums and hope I can get some help to solve a few nagging coding problems. I run a radio control car website for people that own a GV or XTM model car, some of you yourselfs may own one. A friend and I decided that the site needed a new look to make it look a bit more pro, we found a template that we liked but its come to a point where really we arnt sure how to solve the problems that are coming up. The template didnt come with a sub page so to say, so any sub pages we use that the buttons link to are from the index page and our html coding is limited, if we could of created our site from scratch we would of but we are not experts in the html coding area, its limited and we have learnt it ourselfs. Our website is GV & XTM Models Our main problem is sorting the background to how we want it in terms of expanding downwards to match with the rest of the page and to allow the page to show the text we have put there. An example of one of our problems is this page link where some of the text goes into the border title headline margin bit. Now I have done what I can to try solve it but I have failed...damn it! Also every time we try to expand the page to fit more text in we end up with the background going out of sync/out of line meaning we end up with some or a huge white background appearing resulting in none of the text being shown so no one can read it. We want to create a subpage from the index coding we use but we have pretty much failed and racked our brains to the point of "god what do we do". A sub page that is coded right and to allow us put a good amount of text in without distoring the lovely background and design we use would solve our problem as we are wanting to get the website sorted as soon as possible. If you have any other questions regarding how my friend and I have coded the site etc PM me or reply here, a little bit of help would be appreciated alot, thanks all. PS I am using Dreamweaver 8 How can I achieve this exact basic website layout? http://www.cloutonline.com/ Of course I will use my own logo, links, etc. But that is the same exact design I was going for. That same layout. Tables etc. I can't seem to get it right. |
