HTML - Image Changing
Hi there
I'm currently making a estate agency for my college project and have come into a problem I am not that great with html I much prefer programming rather than web development So here is the question how do I change a image on click of another image (for say there is 1 big image on the website and 3 smaller ones I want to change the content of the big image into the clicked smaller image) an example of this is at the following website: http://www.haart.co.uk/buying-house/...ls_160839.aspx Any help would be great thanks dave Similar Tutorialsthe title makes it sounds really confusing. Ok im making my first website, and i need help with a code, (as you can see on www.dalekblaster.co.uk) i have got a section at the top where the images change from one to another. The code is - HTML Code: // Set slideShowSpeed (milliseconds) var slideShowSpeed = 5000; // Duration of crossfade (seconds) var crossFadeDuration = 5; // Specify the image files var Pic = new Array(); // to add more images, just continue // the pattern, adding to the array below Pic[0] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblasternexttime.jpg' Pic[1] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblaster2.jpg' Pic[2] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblastersjanexttime.jpg' Pic[3] = 'http://www.dalekblaster.co.uk/images/banner/dalekblaster.jpg' // do not edit anything below this line var t; var j = 0; var p = Pic.length; var preLoad = new Array(); for (i = 0; i < p; i++) { preLoad[i] = new Image(); preLoad[i].src = Pic[i]; } function runSlideShow() { if (document.all) { document.images.SlideShow.style.filter="blendTrans(duration=2)"; document.images.SlideShow.style.filter="blendTrans(duration=crossFadeDuration)"; document.images.SlideShow.filters.blendTrans.Apply(); } document.images.SlideShow.src = preLoad[j].src; if (document.all) { document.images.SlideShow.filters.blendTrans.Play(); } j = j + 1; if (j > (p - 1)) j = 0; t = setTimeout('runSlideShow()', slideShowSpeed); Now i need help because, i want to link each picture on the slideshow to a differnet page or external site, but im not sure how. (but so they can go to different pages not the same one) can anyone help me? I need to make it so when you click on the image map it changes the image and changes the image map. I am ONLY using html and javascript is not an option. I am shure it is something stupid... <code> <img src="image.gif" id="image" border="0" name="image" usemap="#tour" /> <map name="tour"> <area shape="circ" coords="46,39,20" onClick=" document.getElementById('image').src='flag1.jpg'; document.getElementById('image').useMap='tour2'; <!--NOT WORKING ^?!--> "> </map> <map name="tour2" id="tour2"> <area shape="rect" coords="590,325,650,408" onClick="document.getElementById('image').src='flag.jpg';"> </map> </code> why???! throwing in another random question I can't change the cursor with image maps either... onMouseOver="this.style.cursor='help'" inside my code is not changing anything... when I highlight the mouse over the image map section... Dear HTML Experts, I forget the code which changed the image when, the cursor was at it? Can someone tell me the code? I want to insert an image, but I want it to change to other images after a certain time frame (i.e. 5 seconds) as in a scrolling/moving image?? Can any one tell me how I can do this? I'm not sure if this is even the right forum!! Thanks! ok here is my problem. when i insert an image and do the onmouseover to change the image it works when i dont change the position of the image. Here is the problem, when i change the position, the onmouseover does not work. here is the code without the position change <html> <head> </head> <body> <body bgcolor="white"> <img src="http://i25.tinypic.com/1j53eb.jpg" onmouseover="src='http://i28.tinypic.com/2qatid5.png'" onmouseout="src='http://i25.tinypic.com/1j53eb.jpg'"/> <div style=" top: 150; left: 260; position: absolute; z-index: 1; visibility: show;"> <img src="http://i29.tinypic.com/1057k1e.png"/> </div> <div style=" top: 520; left: 500; position: absolute; z-index: 1; visibility: show;"> <img src="http://i27.tinypic.com/zjjvqr.png"/> </div> </body> </html> here it is with the position change <html> <head> </head> <body> <body bgcolor="white"> <div style=" top: 200; left: 200; position: absolute; z-index: 1; visibility: show;"> <img src="http://i25.tinypic.com/1j53eb.jpg" onmouseover="src='http://i28.tinypic.com/2qatid5.png'" onmouseout="src='http://i25.tinypic.com/1j53eb.jpg'"/> </div> <div style=" top: 150; left: 260; position: absolute; z-index: 1; visibility: show;"> <img src="http://i29.tinypic.com/1057k1e.png"/> </div> <div style=" top: 520; left: 500; position: absolute; z-index: 1; visibility: show;"> <img src="http://i27.tinypic.com/zjjvqr.png"/> </div> </body> </html> when you mouse over, you have to be in the exact middle... can someone help me? Hello to everyone, Does anyone happen to know why firefox is messing up the color of my image? (see attached). thanks, NetGD Hi. I set the opacity of content tables within my webpage to 0.90 so that my background can be seen slightly. However my images in these content tables are also see through. How do i make the images 100% opaque? I have tried entering the image code like this: <IMG SRC="http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f293/jmzcherry/pete-doherty-gio-goi.jpg" STYLE=filter:alpha(opacity=100) WIDTH="245" HEIGHT="250" ALIGN="left"> but that didnt work. Heres how i did the opacity for the tables: table table table td { background-color:FFFFFF; filter:alpha(opacity=90); -moz-opacity:0.90; opacity:0.90; -khtml-opacity:0.90; } table table table table td {filter:none;} sorry for the strange title to my problem, but it's the best I can do. On the site below: http://www.nomagicneon.com/shows.html I have an image (not the truck) that contains data in the middle of it. I made it in MS publisher, now to change the data, I have to go back to MS pub. and change and save and resize etc etc. What I would like to do is: Make the image, cut out the data and then be able to put the data in using HTML code. I think that would require using code for the data and the new picture I created using absolutes. but since never using absolutes, I am not sure. any ideas? TIA Wondering if it's possible to make a circular image change to a different image on mouseover for each of the links in the sample photo. I'm thinking this would be easy to do if the image were square and not circular. Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Is this possible and could you point me in the right direction? I am trying to changed the logo on my website. The part of the html code which does this, is showing as: <div id="logo-div" class="fw-logo"></div> the logo is a .gif file and I cant find anywhere in the html which is calling this image file. Where is it getting logo-div and fw-logo from, can someone please explain the html above that I posted Hi all -- I'm having an interesting problem. I'm designing a web page that has a navigation banner (home - programs - schedule of events - contact us - downloads) that is made up of a .png for each page (i.e. home.png, programs.png, etc). My page is 1000px wide and all of the navigation banner's images add up to 1000px wide. I'm using JavaScript to create an onMouseOver and onMouseOut effect on each of the images. The problem that I'm having occurs when I tried to add a link (either by <A HREF= or using an image map). Whenever I add a link to the image, a small (3px) area of white space shows up to the right of the image. This shifts all of my other images 3px to the right (and 3 more for each link I add to subsequent images) thus making the total width of the navigation banner over 1000px and the last image gets shoved to a new line. I can find no way to get rid of this white space other than to remove the link from the image. There is no property on the page that adds any sort of padding, margins, or borders to images or links, so I can see no property that has to be changed. Help! How do I get rid of this white space but still keep the link on the image?? [I posted this question on the Adobe forum to no avail, below is a screencap I took of the issue I'm having] Thanks in advance! //kl PS - I am using both IE8 and Chrome to view this webpage. I've set all the margins/padding/borders to 0px. Here is my CSS and the part of the code that pertains to the navigation banner. CSS: Code: <style type="text/css"> <!-- body { font: 100% Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; background: #666666; margin: 0; /* it's good practice to zero the margin and padding of the body element to account for differing browser defaults */ padding: 0; text-align: center; /* this centers the container in IE 5* browsers. The text is then set to the left aligned default in the #container selector */ color: #000000; background-image: url(images/blue.bg.png); background-repeat: repeat; background-color: #009; } .oneColFixCtr #container { width: 1000px; /* using 20px less than a full 800px width allows for browser chrome and avoids a horizontal scroll bar */ background: #FFFFFF; margin: 0 auto; /* the auto margins (in conjunction with a width) center the page */ border: 0px solid #000000; text-align: left; /* this overrides the text-align: center on the body element. */ } .oneColFixCtr #mainContent { padding: 0 20px; /* remember that padding is the space inside the div box and margin is the space outside the div box */ } body, td, th { color: #333; } #main_banner2 { margin: 0px; padding: 0px; height: auto; width: 1000px; } --> </style> </head> Nav Banner: NOTE:: below HAS to be all one paragraph because if i insert a carriage return in between images, it also adds the white space... Code: <body class="oneColFixCtr"> <!-- MAIN NAVIGATION BANNER --> <!--HOME--><img src="images/nav/home.png" alt="home" name="home" width="82" height="30" border="0" onMouseOver="document.images.home.src='images/nav/home_over.png'" onMouseOut ="document.images.home.src='images/nav/home.png'"/><!--PROGRAMS--><img src="images/nav/programs.png" width="111" height="30" border="0" name="programs" onMouseOver="document.images.programs.src='images/nav/programs_over.png'" onMouseOut ="document.images.programs.src='images/nav/programs.png'"/><!--SCHEDULE OF EVENTS--><img src="images/nav/scheduleofevents.png" width="189" height="30" border="0" name="scheduleofevents" onMouseOver="document.images.scheduleofevents.src='images/nav/scheduleofevents_ over.png'" onMouseOut ="document.images.scheduleofevents.src='images/nav/scheduleofevents.png'"/><!-- CONTACT US--><img src="images/nav/contactus.png" width="119" height="30" border="0" name="contactus" onMouseOver="document.images.contactus.src='images/nav/contactus_over.png'" onMouseOut ="document.images.contactus.src='images/nav/contactus.png'"/><!--DOWNLOADS--><i mg src="images/nav/downloads.png" width="267" height="30" border="0" name="downloads" onMouseOver="document.images.downloads.src='images/nav/downloads_over.png'" onMouseOut ="document.images.downloads.src='images/nav/downloads.png'"/><!--FACEBOOK--><im g src="images/nav/facebook.png" width="90" height="30" border="0" name="facebook" onMouseOver="document.images.facebook.src='images/nav/facebook_over.png'" onMouseOut ="document.images.facebook.src='images/nav/facebook.png'"/><!--TWITTER--><img src="images/nav/twitter.png" width="67" height="30" border="0" name="twitter" onMouseOver="document.images.twitter.src='images/nav/twitter_over.png'" onMouseOut ="document.images.twitter.src='images/nav/twitter.png'"/><!--BLOGGER--><img src="images/nav/blogger.png" width="75" height="30" border="0" name="blogger" onMouseOver="document.images.blogger.src='images/nav/blogger_over.png'" onMouseOut ="document.images.blogger.src='images/nav/blogger.png'"/><img src="images/home_banner.png" alt="home_border" width="1000" height="7" /><br /> I'm trying to build a site where you can change the .css I found one way that works but the problem is that, when you click on a link, it automaticly changes back to the default .css file in stead of the one that the person was using... this is the code I used: <head> <link title="style1" rel="stylesheet" href="style1.css" type="text/css" /> <link title="style2" rel="alternate stylesheet" href="style2.css" type="text/css" /> <link title="style3" rel="alternate stylesheet" href="style3.css" type="text/css" /> <script type="text/javascript"> function setActiveStyleSheet(title) { var i, a, main; for(i=0; (a = document.getElementsByTagName("link")[i]); i++) { if(a.getAttribute("rel").indexOf("style") != -1 && a.getAttribute("title")) { a.disabled = true; if(a.getAttribute("title") == title) a.disabled = false; } } } </script> </head> and in the body: <a style="cursor:pointer" onclick="setActiveStyleSheet('style1');"><img src="images/a1.jpg" alt="a1" width="30" height="30" /></a> <a style="cursor:pointer" onclick="setActiveStyleSheet('style2');"><img src="images/a2.jpg" alt="a2" width="30" height="30" /></a> <a style="cursor:pointer" onclick="setActiveStyleSheet('style3');"><img src="images/a3.jpg" alt="a3" width="30" height="30" /></a> I could use some help... Embarrassingly what I have been doing is making copies of the index file for each page . I Know there must be a better way. If someone could shed some light on my problem. Bradley How do i change the circled text in a browser? EDIT: Its a Pop-up.. Hi M8's I am struggling a bit here I am no HTML expert but I am sure someone out there will say - hey! that's easy man. I wnat to put a date on my web site that shows 10 days ahead of the live date and changes every day to maintain that gap, anyone any ideas. regards I am building my first big(ish) website and I have run into a little problem. The left side of the page is the same on every single page, along with the top. The only part that changes is the content of the center. There is also some things on the right that stay the same. I have the site looking and opperating fine, but when I need to make adjustments to the static parts of the site (top, left and right), I have to change every single page. Is there any way to just have one template and when you click on a link, it just changes the middle? I have tried iframes, but the left part of the screen needs to be able to scroll with the rest of the page. I want everything to scroll just like a normal webpage, but without having to change the menus on every single page. How is this possible? Thanks in advanced |
