HTML - Create News Post On Own Site (blog Style)

I recently joined a company, having used HTML before, and the previous employee who created and updated the site left, I have been given the responsibility.

I want to integrate a blog onto the website on it's own page which will be able to archive the blogs monthly, and allow people to make comments on the blog posts.

Is there coding out there to do this? or what is the easiest way to do it. Any advice would be great. the website is.

Hello guys - I am hosting a blog and running blogger as the primary host/template. Please keep in mind that the template I am using utilizes the 'classic Blogger template' so I am editing the template installed from the ground up.

This is a work in progress and I will likely have more questions but for now there is only one main thing I would like to change.

The right sidebar is AJAX enabled, but I would like to change the color of the headers 'about matt & the blog', 'other worthy blogs around the web', etc...As of right now their default color is the gray with dark gray outline/bottom padding. I just don't know where to find this to edit it within the template.

It seems, at least on my computer, that when I choose the blog page on my "site in progress"... that the page sort of zooms in.

I thought at first it was because the page used a scrollbar and the other page didn't, but then I created another page with a scrollbar, separate from the blog, and it did NOT do the zoom effect.

As you can see, most noticeably in the navigation, the font looks fine, not blurry, not too big, just right. When you click on the blog page, the font becomes blurred and slightly bigger.

I'm running the latest Firefox on a 1440x900 monitor.

I have a basic understanding of HTML coding and I am attempting to learn new skills and tricks to help me in my development. I am currently in the process of developing a new site for myself and on this site I will have a news page, which I update weekly with news from the industry.

I was wondering what is the best way of going about new news articles (written by myself, not taken from external sources) and also how to automatically update the 'news' snippet on the homepage when I add a new news article?

Any advice or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

anyways, im working on a website, and ive got a small question for ya. Ive got my site set up with buttons and flashy graphics made in photoshop, but on my Index site i want to have a news window in the center of the screen.

ive poked around the source code of various sites with the thing i want (like www.mordi.net, norwegian site) and ive figured out how it works and how i edit it. i just need to know how i make it stick to that little area of my screen ive designated for it. (ive sliced up the area i want it to use in photoshop, like i did with my buttons)

I've recently created a site for a school. The url is www.wmes.ca . I am wondering what a site like this might be worth. I would love to hear how some of you break down your prices etc.

I don't want to price myself too high, nor do I want to be one of those businesses that price myself so low that I make it hard for other worthy businesses to make a buck.

I'd like to hear your credentials too, as I don't want someone just pulling my leg. I've made numerous sites through my "on the side" business (www.prestigeinteractive.com), but this is unique because I also teach at this school.

To be honest, I alwasy hate giving quotes, so I'd love to know what others do.

Any feedback would be great.

Here are some of the particulars:
a) 34 unique pages - not password protected
b) 34 flash files containing four photos (looked through about 1500 pictures to select these)
c) 34 additional images - as well as a staff page that contains 50 photos that were resized etc.
d) navbar using ssi .
e) 36 additional classroom pages that contain a picture of the teacher using the same design template as the rest of the site. - password protected - simple jscript
f) 36 php email forms to contact the teacher.
g) all pages utilize adobe inconctext editing to allow teachers the ability to edit their work.

I'm sure there's other stuff to consider, but a ballpark figure would be great.

I have tiled this accross the webpage, but now need to line the logo with it, so that I can have the webpage viewable by any screen resolution.

I've built a website for my karaoke show, and would like to add a blog page to the site.

Rather than 3rd party, I'd prefer to have my own blog on my own domain to increase traffic for the SE crawlers.

I was wondering...

- what some good options are ie what blog software to use
- if I can have a blog that somehow incorporates Facebook and Twitter (i've seen Facebook connect, but I'd like something that posts my blog messages to my Facebook and Twitter pages)

I currently have a Typepad blog on there, but as I said, I'd prefer to have my own blog code, not third party.

The site is www.billygoatkaraoke.com.au , and I'd really like the blog to stay on the site - I'm thinking that I'll have a blog page open up over the goat when someone clicks on the BLOG link.

Hello all mates!

I am working with my forum trying to properly edit the html for the posts so that they will display any custom script/html of my choice. I want this to appear in ONLY the first post in every thread. I am also trying to find out how to make a bot that automatically posts another second post in every thread, with my own custom scripts/html. At the moment I am trying to add some adsense ads this way.

What I am looking for is two things:

1 - How to get the adsense ad aligned to either right or left of the text within the first post.
2 - How to get an adsense bot autopost an ad as post number 2 in any thread (including being applied to all threads already existing)

I am using IPB3. I previously used Adsense Bot for IPB2, and that worked fine, but it is not supported for IPB3. It uses the Universal Mod Installer, and in IPB3 there is a new "hook" feature to ass custom mods etc, but I do not know how to alter the code for the Adsense Bot to work with IPB3 so I am trying to get it done from scratch by adding codes directly into the templates. If anyone know how to configure / modify the old Adsense Bot to work with IPB3 that would be great of course, so I am attaching it here just in case someone wants to take a look at it and its documentation and scripts.

But primarily I am looking for the two mentioned features, one is how to get the script running in ONLY the first post of every thread - at the moment I got it running, but it is global and implements into all posts not only the first.

I also have figured out how to make a script appear, such as an ad, between posts, but not after ONLY the first post, nor how to make a bot that posts a post just like any member, which is what I am really looking for when it comes to that part.

This works perfectly for adding my desired custom script embedded within the posts. The problem is that it gets embedded in ALL posts and not only the first as I would want. Here is a link to my forum for an example on how it looks:

I know I have to edit/add some code regarding post counts etc to configure it to only affect the first post - my question is how to do that?

And as seen, the second post shows the ad as well, here I would want a bot to post a post containing another ad - between the first and third post of every thread (which will be standard members posts).

I have messed my brain with this for more than a week now trying different things, looking around at forums, googling, trying scripts and so on, mods etc, but as of yet have not found the solution to these things for IPB3.

Any help here would be extremely greatly appreciated and I'll buy you a beer if you're ever around my part of the world! :p

Hi there. I currently use a news feed widget from BlastCasta.com on a website for a leading gymnast, however i notice sometimes the news feed covers stories about someone with the same name (ie, they are not relevent to the gymnast at all!)

Is there any way at all of using something else/something better?

I am completely ignorant when it comes to News feeds/widgets and how to implement them. Any advice would be fantastic.
