HTML - Html Image Links In Safari And Ie
I want to embed a social media block on my page that has all the little buttons and all the little links happy together. I almost had it too using this:
<p> <a href="http://www.sample site.com" target="_blank"> <img src="http://my image" width="32" height="32" alt="RSS" title="RSS Coming Soon"> </a> This repeated so I had 6 little images for social media connections. In Internet Explorer all links worked, but there was a little line sticking out the right side of each image. In Safari only my last three image links worked but they have no annoying little line. Why? Anyone? Anyone? Similar TutorialsThis is so frustrating! I have a set of image links on the home page of my website, just like this: <a href="t-store.aspx"><img border="0" alt="Online Store" src="site/include/cssstore.gif"></a> For some reason, they don't work at all on Safari (on a Mac, no idea about Windows Safari). I don't really see what could possibly be causing that. There doesn't seem to be anything in the CSS that could cause this either, the div is just: text-align: center; float: right; width:200px; Worst comes to worst, I could make them into text (which might have been the right thing to do from the beginning), but now I just want to figure this out! Any ideas? EDIT: Text links didn't work either, but other links on the page do. Is there something that would make links not work in one div on a page? Hi there, I am not able to figure out why there are blue lines around my images on this page http://www.surveys.hottestdeals.info. If i want to get rid of them, where should i make the changes in CSS sheets? Thanks for any help. Kris What is the html code when placing multiple links on a single image? In Firefox (although only in version 4), the following works: <table> <tr><td></td><td><a><a href="../images/image1.wma" </a>Image label</a>< br />Second line of label (don't want this underlined)</td> ... </table> but the same web page doesn't show any links in Safari (5.0.5). I thought maybe Safari didn't like links in a table, so I removed the table. Still no links. I thought maybe it was the relative reference and made it absolute. No luck. I've tried removing the extra <a> and it doesn't change anything. The extra <a> is to keep the second line from being underlined. What am I missing? Mei For some reason, the main navigation links in this site don't work in Safari 3.1 and latest version of Firefox. They work in IE 6 though. How can I update the search engines or add code to my page so the search engines will reflect the new .PHP pages. Also it's been over a good week since I've update to .PHP Thank you all in advanced!! HI, I am trying to fix a webpage ( http://www.d.umn.edu/itss/labs/maps/ ) which uses some pretty complex html (atleast for me) to show pop ups when you rollover the numbers on a map of the building. They work fine in IE and Fire Fox but dont work properly in Safari. Any ideas on why it acts funny in Safari? Here is the code used to show the pop up for one of the numbers on the map. <!-- BEGIN POPUP CODE _MWAH 177_ --> <div class="test-popup"> <div id="lab-title" class="pdiv"> <p class="ptitle">MWAH 177</p> </div> <table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px"> <tr><td> <div id="lab-info" class="pdivnob"> <p class="pinfo"><img src="pcicon.jpg"><img src="bwprinticon.jpg"><span class="pinfot">TODAY'S HOURS:</span> 8:00am - 8:00pm</p> </div> </td></tr></table> <table class="pinner" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; border-bottom: 1px solid black; border-top: 1px solid black" width="100%"> <tr> <td valign="top"> <div id="lab-info2" class="pdivnob"> <p class="pinfo"><span class="pinfot">CURRENT AVAILABILITY:</span></p> </div></td> <td valign="middle"> <img src="http://labstats.d.umn.edu:8080/PieChart?lab=6&title= " height="90" border="0" align="middle"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" align="center"> <img src="key.jpg"> </td> </tr> </table> <div id="lab-links" class="pdiv"> <p class="plinks"><span class="pinfot"><a href="http://labstats.d.umn.edu:8080/public/public.swf?map_id=4&lab_id=6&srv=http://labstats.d.umn.edu:8080" target="_blank">ROOM VIEW</a> | <a href="https://summit.d.umn.edu/r25/html/Computer_Labs.html" target="_blank">SCHEDULE</a> | <a href="#10" target="_self">LAB INFO</a></span></p> </div> </div> <!-- END POPUP CODE --> Greetings, If you access the following website http://www.chrisnieratko.com/ in IE / Firefox, you can view the site perfectly. However, with Chrome / Safari, you can't. You just see a bunch of code with ascii question marks. I know it's missing the doctype declaration, but is it the question marks that make it not visible for those browsers? (Chrome / Safari) When the site's pages are opened in notepad, textpad and notepad++, the question marks aren't there... so how do you eliminate them? Does anybody know of another editor that will view / edit these? Does anybody know if that's even the problem? How did they just appear out of nowhere? Most importantly; How would YOU fix this problem in the easiest way possible? (I'm guessing a certain type of text editor with a search function, then search / eliminate them and re-save the file?) Any help is MUCH appreciated! Thank you so much in advance for your time! Hi everyone, I have been working on a website here www.ds-installations.co.uk/examples.html. I am nearing the end of design/development but I have a weird display bug in Chrome and Safari. For some reason, the content displays off to the right of the main page? I have checked all the code through the W3C CSS and HTML validators and it all seems fine. I have tested in IE6+, FF and Opera which seem to work fine? I would really appreciate any help on this, I have been looking and tweaking for hours to try and fix it and I can't see anything obvious? Thanks very much in advance for any help! Dan Safari doesnt display html site as it should be, instead Safari shows just the html code...: what can i do? <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta content="de-ch" http-equiv="Content-Language" /> <meta content="text/html; charset=utf-8" http-equiv="Content-Type" /> <title>Ohne_Titel_1</title> </head> <body> <p>TEST</p> <img src="http://blabla.com/image.jpg" /> </body> </html> This is just a sample html code, and its saved as .html file on the server... so what could it be? (the main page is displayed correct by the way...) Thank you very much! my problem is ie and its padding, ie has add a 4px padding at the bottom of the of the image but in safari and firefox there is no padding. here is the url so u understand what i mean http://nathanoconnor.co.uk/gilbertelectrical/site/ Hello, I'm new to the forums =) I'm currently having a problem with my navigation which involves images. Initally I used the traditional image map method using area maps and the usemap function but it only worked in the webpage itself, and when the webpage shows in an iframe the links are nonexistent. So I sliced my navigation to give the sliced images the url link instead. As usual, they work on their own but when the page is shown in an iframe, some of the links disappear (you can't even hover on them) only in Firefox, Chrome and Safari. But some of the links are also still intact. In IE and Opera they work perfectly fine. Below is the code for the page which contains the navigation and links aforementioned, which will be displayed in an iframe of another page: Code: <!-- ImageReady Slices (mainframe.jpg) --> <table id="Table_01" width="971" height="565" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td rowspan="4"> <img src="images/mainframe_01.gif" width="200" height="531" alt=""" style="z-index:-3;"></td> <td> <a href="defence.html" target="_parent" onmouseover="window.status='STET Defence'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;"> <img src="images/mainframe_02.gif" width="332" height="163" border="0" alt="" style="z-index:1;"></a></td> <td rowspan="4"> <img src="images/mainframe_03.gif" width="438" height="531" alt=""></td> <td> <img src="images/spacer.gif" width="1" height="163" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td> <a href="maritime.html" target="_parent" onmouseover="window.status='STET Maritime'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;"> <img src="images/mainframe_04.gif" width="332" height="134" border="0" alt="" style="z-index:1;"></a></td> <td> <img src="images/spacer.gif" width="1" height="134" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td> <a href="homelandsec.html" target="_parent" onmouseover="window.status='STET Homeland Security'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;"> <img src="images/mainframe_05.gif" width="332" height="138" border="0" alt="" style="z-index:1;"></a></td> <td> <img src="images/spacer.gif" width="1" height="138" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td rowspan="2"> <a href="centre.html" target="_parent" onmouseover="window.status='STET Centre'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;"> <img src="images/mainframe_06.gif" width="332" height="130" border="0" alt="" style="z-index:1;"></a></td> <td> <img src="images/spacer.gif" width="1" height="96" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td> <a href="https://mail.stet.com.sg/owa/auth/logon.aspx?url=https://mail.stet.com.sg/owa&reason=0" target="_parent" onmouseover="window.status='Login to Intranet'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;"> <img src="images/mainframe_07.gif" width="200" height="34" border="0" alt="" style="z-index:1;"></a></td> <td> <a href="sitemap.php" target="mainframe" onmouseover="window.status='Lost?'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;"> <img src="images/mainframe_08.gif" width="438" height="34" border="0" alt=""></a></td> <td> <img src="images/spacer.gif" width="1" height="34" alt=""></td> </tr> </table> <!-- End ImageReady Slices --> <div id="pict" style="position:absolute;top:200px;left:10px;z-index:0;"> <iframe name="news" src="news.php" FRAMEBORDER=no name="frame" allowTransparency scrolling=auto style="filter:chroma (color=#FFFFFF)" width="185" height="90"></iframe> </div> There is another iframe in this page which I wonder might be causing the problem. However even when I removed it the problem remains. Any ideas how to fix it? Would really appreciate the help, thanks!
