I am having a html table with three columns and the rows are dynamic. I need to have a multiple selection of the rows and the value need to checked using javascript. I dont want any check box to be used... Can anyone help in getting this... Hi, This must be an easy question but a quick google did not turn up an answer for me. I have a dropdown menu and allows the user to select multiple items from the menu. After the user clicking the submit button, how do I get the user's (multiple) selections? I know I can use $POST['Name'} to get the value if there was only one selection. Thanks Hello, I have a graphic background with image buttons ("img" inside an "a href" link). By default, when you right click a button (or left click and move pointer out), the browser paints a selection rectangle, painted with dotted lines, that remains there. The same selection is visible when you click the image button, until the new page loads. You can see it even on the top round buttons of this forum. It looks really bad on my page because the image buttons are ment to be part of the background, and such a selection is out of style. Is there a way I can instruct the browser not to paint this selection? Some CSS style or some other property? Thanks! Alex Hi everyone. I'm new at this, so I apologize if this is a simple or redundant question. I'm trying to create a website where the front page is comprised of 5 rollover image links that, when properly aligned (in this case to the right), form one cohesive image. I have tried to individually align each with align="right" but instead of a column of images aligned to the right and directly on top of each other with no spaces, they are instead being organized like text. In other words, the first image is to the right, than the next two span across the page because there is enough room, then the following two do the same. The result is a scattered and disjointed image. I hope that makes sense. How can I get them to stack to the right with no spaces in between? thanks for any help. The page I've designed uses lots of solid colour rectangles. Ive created them by stretching a 1x1 GIF image to the correct proportions. At the moment, I've simply used the same GIF, with different div ID's each time. Same image is being used for say: Sidebar Header Footer That ONE image is constrained within one container/wrapper MULTIPLE TIMES (with different id), and has different dimensions, and different positions. While this renders fine locally, it hasn't been successful on a remote server. The image only shows up for one of the div ID's, and the rest are shown as broken links. Would I have to create a unique image file for each rectangle I want to create? Or is it just my lack of knowledge about how to correctly use FTP. I've never made a remote webpage before. Only used HTML locally. PS: I used a free webhost (perhaps i also therefore shot myself in the foot). Hello all I'm writing a mash up that has drag-able objects the problem is when I drag the object too fast my browser is selecting the text behind the object. This is what I have so far http://bartletagency.com/m/x2.php Now, obviously with business cards there many different options. I need something to calculate on the side the total after picking each drop box option, or if easier, after hitting "calculate total." (preferably with the numbers in a table so I can make it appear by itself right underwear the send button) . Example: 1000 business cards in blue, say, would need to come up at 50 dollars if they pick 3-1, but if they pick 3-22 it needs to come up 60 dollars if they pick the other color, green, and pick 3-1, the label would need to turn to $55.00, if they pick 3-2 with the color green the label would need to say $65.00 how can i do this please? here is the code I have which made up the PHP file i linked you to above. code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>Lesson 3</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> </head> <body> <?php if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] != 'POST'){ $me = $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?> <h1 align="center">Business Cards</h1> <form name="form1" method="post" action="<?=$me?>"> <table border="0" align="center" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td align="right" valign="middle">Quantity:</td> <td><select name="Quantity: "> <option value="1000">1000</option> <option value="2500">2500</option> <option value="5000">5000</option> <option value="10,000">10,000</option> </select> </td> </tr> <tr> <td align="right" valign="middle">color</td> <td><select name="color"> <option value="blue">blue</option> <option value="green">green</option> </select> </td> </tr> <tr> <td align="right" valign="middle">3</td> <td><select name="3"> <option value="small">3-1</option> <option value="medium">3-2</option> </select> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> <td><input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Send"> </td> </tr> </table> </form> <?php } else { error_reporting(0); // initialize a array to //hold any errors we encounter $errors = array(); // test to see if the form was actually // posted from our form $page = $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'].$_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; if (!ereg($page, $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'])) $errors[] = "Invalid referer<br>\n"; // check to see if a name was entered if (count($errors)>0) { foreach($errors as $err) echo "$err<br>\n"; echo "<br>Please use your browser's Back button to fix."; } else { // no errors, so we build our message switch($_POST['color']){ case 'red': $recipient = 'mathew420@gmail.com'; break; case 'green': $recipient = 'mathew420@gmail.com'; break; case 'blue': $recipient = 'mathew420@gmail.com'; break; default: $recipient = 'mathew420@gmail.com'; } $subject = "Widget On Line Order"; $from = stripslashes($_POST['Name']); $msg = "Message sent by $from\n"; $msg.="\nSize: ".$_POST['size']; $options=$_POST['options']; $msg.="\nOptions:"; if ($options) for ($i=0;$i<count($options);$i++) $msg.= "\n- $options[$i]"; else $msg.="\n- None"; $msg.="\nColor: ".$_POST['color']; $extension=($_POST['extension'])?"Extension: Yes":"Extension: No"; $wallmount=($_POST['wallmount'])?"Wallmount: Yes":"Wallmount: No"; $deskmount=($_POST['deskmount'])?"Deskmount: Yes":"Deskmount: No"; $msg.="\n$extension\n$wallmount\n$deskmount"; $msg.="\n".stripslashes($_POST['MsgBody'])."\n"; if (mail($recipient,$subject,$msg)){ echo "<p>Thanks for your order!</p>"; echo nl2br($msg); } else echo "An unknown error occurred."; } } ?> </body> </html> thanks so much Hi, how can I put in a drop down menu that slides down or across from a regular text link in html? Then, when selecting one of the options, I would like it to automatically take the visitor to the page option selected? I don't want a drop down menu and then hit 'Go' type mechanism, just a slide and click type thing. i.e when the link is clicked on it would reveal a drop down list that says.. Hotel Car Rental Airport Car Park Insurance and would then link directly to the appropriate page. Thanks! Hi everyone, I have a page that displays 40 pictures (of paintings) with a short description of each. I am trying to think of a way to enable a user to add whichever paintings they want to a list. Basically, so they do not have to scroll through the whole page to view specific paintings. I thought about converting the page from XHTML to ASP.Net and then addign checkboxes under each picture. I thought about using C# to get a list of the checkboxes checked. How do I then display a new page (or somewhere on the same page) with only the selected graphics? Any ideas would be appreciated. I am a newbie at web programming. Thank you! Marc Hi all, I have a form in dreamweaver that consists of a couple of textboxes and two list boxes. SIGH I'm doing a website in which customers have to complete a form and accept contractual terms, but the client wants for them to have to click "I Accept" before the link to complete a product download can be activated and I haven't the foggiest how to do it. To which thing (I Accept or the Download link) do I apply the code and what code do I use? Can the download link act as both the Download and Submit button simultaneously? I proposed to the client that we just make the Accept button the Submit, and have the download link on the Thank You page following submission, but in the event that he doesn't go for that... THANKS! I've been laboring over this forever. Hello. I was wondering if it's at all possible to have a specific checkbox or radio button checked/selected when the user gets to that page depending on the link they clicked to get to that page. For example, I have a client who wants the user to go to a single form but from different categories (rather than having a form for each), but to make sure the recipient of the email knows which category it came from, the checkbox for that category would already be checked. The user would be able to check it themselves as well, but this ensures it's already selected and creates convenience for the user. Thanks Okay, I am not new to HTML but am expanding my knowledge out from the basics and learning more. I have been scouring the internet for about a week trying to figure out this problem but to no avail. I need to know how to take a drop down box and have the selection open in a new window with height=600 width=600, status bar, no scroll bars and no toolbars. I already have the dropdown box setup, just need to know how to accomplish that latter. Thanks for the help, dt_gry! |
