HTML - Making Some Error Text Appear If User Is Browsing With X Browser - Possible?
Is it possible to have some error text appear if a user is browsing your website with a certain browser using html/css or maybe java?
An example being: If - The website is being browsed using Safari Then - SHOW error text = "This link won't work with the Safari browser." Else - DO NOT SHOW error text is that sort of thing viable or just a pipe dream at current? Thanks in advance. I've heard of a thing called cache busting, but there is little info on it when dealing with anything other than a Wordpress site. We are the ones that get your videos to the top We have just been building a whole new site. Ok Basically it is set up to where there are multiple packages for the user to order. Each package they can pick how many videos they would like to have optimized. I have started with this script but i'm lost. I'm a software developer not real deep in html. All I am needing it to do is if you pick 1 for 1 video only 1 text box appears. If you pick 4 for 4 videos only 4 text boxes appears.(The text boxes are for the user to enter in there Youtube Video url) And of course if they enter in 9 text boxes 9 will appear. The problem right now is it doesn't matter which number you press all 9 text boxes appear. I'm sure this is something very simple I am just not experienced in javascript if statements. Reference: http://test5.waltonstreetwebdesign.com/contact.php So there are 3 text inputs there and 1 textarea, I need them to be the same width. The thing that I don't get is that each input has the same CSS class giving it a width. So why aren't my text inputs the same length as the textarea? Basically, the ALTtext element used in image display, provides two things: 1. Replacement text if the image should be abscent so that you can easily reference which image is missing and replace it. 2. Mouseover text of the image so surfers can get short extra information about the image. Now, you may argue that a Browser should come set as default to ignore mouseover text. However, there is a reason why many web developers still use this in preference to an image title. The reason being that it is extra programming for the developer to type out additional code which merely plays the same role as the original Alt attribute. Some argue that the programmer shouldn't even give an Alt value! Sadly, in turn many browsers are unfortunately becoming designed without the Alt text attribute, making many Alt-text-specific sites hard to understand. If you honestly find a small bit of mouseover text which really only exists for a fraction of a second intrusive of your surfing time then you've got issues. Who agrees? When a user begins the application he is told to use the back and forward buttons on our form (not on his browser). We find that users still accidentally use the browser buttons and when they do a "Webpage has expired" error page comes up. This error page is not part of our site and is a dead end. I'm not a programmer so I don't know the specifics. I take it as a given that that browser buttons cannot function normally in our application, but I'd like to know if there is a way to get control of the error page that comes up when users do click their browser buttons. If we can show them a page reminding them not to use the browser buttons and put a link there to get them back to the application it would be a big help. Hi all, I'm new to this site, I hope someone can help me figure out what on Earth I've done wrong. I've been editing this website to a new, CSS layout with DIVs instead of frames and tables. In my browser, IE6, it looks PERFECT, but in IE7, the DIV with the navigation text is overlapping the DIV with the header image, and in Firefox 2.0.0.16, the DIVs might as well not even be there--all the text runs right on top of the image!
