Similar TutorialsHi, i'm an expereinced PC user, and am just getting into web design, thought you could help. I've got the basics of a website developed, i just need to get the difficult bits done now...just! I've split it up into two points... a) Basically I want users to add a page that I haven't got on my site, (for example, if my website was about bands, one could fill in a form with the title of the band and a few pieces of info. and then that information is taken and a page is created (the page has standard information the same as the rest of the pages, but the details the user entered are on the page)). b) Secondly I want to add to a page a text box one can type into, click submit (basically a review) and that typing be added to that page. I'm assuming some sort of database would be required, but im really not sure how to go about it. Any help would be great Many thanks Hello All, I am looking to create a website very similar to this http://www.loserstatus.com/ that is my friends site and I currently have this www.canapictures.com . I like how simple his layout is but it looks sooo much better than mine lol. He hired someone to build it so he has no idea how it was made. Does anyone know if there is a template or something I can use to make something similar, I mainly just want the scrolling box with pictures that are linked to videos like he has on the top of the page below the banner. Hi, I'm looking to create a simple booking form on a html website. It needs to generate an email containing the details for the website owner, as well as show confirmation to the form user that it has posted successfully. I'm trying to establish the best/easiest way of doing this? I have a fairly good grasp of html - but would this involve programming outside of html? Javascript perhaps? If you could point me in a direction it would be much appreciated, Thanks. This will be my first website, aside of simple projects from my school class. A friend of mine has a website that is currently already up an running. He would like the site completely re-done, as he moved his company, has new offers, etc. Is the best way to do it, to re-write/edit from scratch, or to use a free website builder? I have beginners html/css/Javascript writing knowledge, and have been searching online when I need help. Let's say he already has a website called www.5star.com If I use a free website builder, will I be able to transfer all that to his domain name he already has so it doesnt become something like www.freewebsite/hostme/5star.com ? He is getting the FTP info from the guy who originally made his site. Thank you. (I have been working it from scratch and have a lot done, but want it to look great, and not just a plain static site). Hey there, Say I want to create a website by myself, using my own HTML code. How would I do this? I am pretty good with HTML, and know quite alot. But when it comes to finding somewhere to place all the code, it confuses the hell out of me lol. So, a few questions. - What programme is the best for writing your code into? - Once I have saved the code in this programme, how do I upload it through the FTP? (like, where do I place it?) - Is that it, or is there more to it? I'm setting up a form for online donations for the organization I work for and we're using Paypal to receive the donations. The problem is that I need to be able to let people designate their donations to specific projects and such but Paypal won't do that. I know that I can set up a form on our website that allows them to select the different projects, put in the amounts and then have a box at the bottom giving the total donation. The problem I have is that whenever they fill out this form and move on to the Paypal payment page, they have to re-enter the total donation on the Paypal payment page. I want to eliminate this step, if possible. My question is this: Is there a way to have the total donation amount copied and pasted onto the Paypal payment page so they wouldn't have to re-enter it? Thanks for your help in this matter! Jason Ive been asked to fix up an old webpage. The old web master is a bit senile and can not complete the page. I had created a php page but the server is so old that it doesnt support php. I want a page with a simple leftnav and I need to add a photogallery with thumbnails... anyone have any advice for me? Are there any good free templates out there that could do all this for me? Or maybe some good tools? Thanks in advance I would like to start a credit card website, but I don't know much about html/web design. I am offering someone professional to help build me a website. The site must look like this site: credit-land.com , mainly referring to its templates & color. In addtion, I would like another website, somewhat similar (but not a clone) to this one: get3creditcards.com , so that I can distribute copies of that site to my affiliates to help promote my products. This means, when their affiliate application get approved, I will send them the site to put under a domain name. Also, I need for someone to help set up a tracking system for my affiliates, so they can track their earnings. And I believe this has to be another site? page? If anyone's willing to accept this offer, please PM me or email me sac25274 @ gmail.com and let me know your service price. Thank you very much. Hi, I was wondering if i could receive some help creating a blog-type website. With on the sidebar: archive, calender, recent posts etc. Posts: read more button, todays date, author (posted by) etc. Facebook share button, twitter etc. Flash banner with a picture slider add own logo, slogan, footer etc. I tried wordpress but the themes are not that great and it wont let you do a lot. Is there an app or software that will make this easy? Thank you, W. Hello I'm not sure if this is in the right section, but I'm trying to figure out how to make my website more easily maintainable. EG On my site there is a bar on every page with my "latest updates", every time I want to add an update I have to add it to every page which is tiresome. I was wondering if I can just have this bar point to a text file on every page so I can just update this one file and it will be displayed on all pages. Hopefully this isn't too difficult, thanks. Hi people! I am semi-new to html, and have tried to figure this one out on myself, but it just doesn't seem to work! So I am trying to create a layout for my photo blog, with these standards: * images that I post auto-resize to squares [100*100] * when you click on the image it will show you the full sized version optional: * on the homepage you get the option to click on 'ANALOG' and 'DIGITAL' That's all! It can't be that hard right, am I over-seeing something? I want to use this layout on tumblr, blogger, wordpress, or any other free platform! I have a link right here to give you an idea of what I'm talking about: http://www.oscaralexander.com/lomo/lowlands-08-08/html/ [they aren't squares, I know] I've been working on a way to see who's using my website and I've just created a way for other web developers to use it too. My tool shows you who's on your website in a single HTML tag. It's still under development, but I was wondering if some of the other members of this forum might want to check it out and then reply back with what they think of it. It's written in PHP and Javascript, and of course it's free to use. The project site is http://www.websiteusermaps.com/ so I hope some of you have a moment to check it out and report back to me on this message topic as to whether or not this looks like something you might be interested in using. Thanks everybody! Jon I am working on a website that deals with a form for an electronic check. I pretty much know how to do the code for getting the values, etc, I just do not know how to create the actual forms. I have to create the pages in Visual Studio 2008. Here is what I have to create: The first image explains what is supposed to be in each field of the form. The second image is what it is supposed to look like after the user inputs information to the form. And here is what the result is supposed to be after the user clicks the preview button: So like I said, I know how to do most of the coding, I just have no idea how to manipulate Visual Studio to make the forms look like, or at least similar to, the pictures I posted. I have experience in html and css and some in javascript. So that is not really the issue. I just do not know Visual Studio too well. It seems like there is something easy and/or obvious that I am missing. I played around with VS for several hours earlier and I could not make anything that looked similar the images. Any help is greatly appreciated. Hi, I am trying to find a way in which a website that is linked on my homepage can be opened while keeping at least one form of my homepage open as well. e.g.: Google images :http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...en-us%26sa%3DG sorry for the massive link. Hope you get the idea. So what i want is to have a bar on top that is my homepage (like the google bar in the link), but the rest is the actual website that has been linked. I don't really care much about the url. It doesn't have to be my homepage url, it can be the actual website url. Google has been able to do that somehow, so it is possible. I would just like to know how and if it is hard to do. If someone knows how to do it, it would be great if you could give me a link to a tutorial, or explain it. thanks I have some links (in the header, the SUPPORTERS) to different websites, but when I click on them the address in the address bar does not change to the address of the website that I clicked. How do I make it show the address that I clicked on? Thanks. http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~fencing/ I am a total noob but volunteered to administrate the website, because there was no one else to do it. |
