HTML - How To Dynamically Pass A Variable To A 3rd Party Tracking Pixel
Similar TutorialsHi! I would like to know how do I pass a variable in my URL to the next page. HTML Code: For example, my URL is: http://www.mysite.com?source=google I'm using this form code to go to the next page: <form action="http://www.mysite.com/next-page.html" method="get" name="form"> <input type="text" name="zipcode" maxlength="5" id="zipcode" /> <br /> <input type="submit" id="button" value="Go"/> </form> So the next page URL will be: http://www.mysite.com/next-page.html?zipcode=11111 I want that the variable "google" will be also in this URL: http://www.mysite.com/next-page.html?zipcode=11111&source=google How I do that? Thanks, Steve My company has a support site that is hosted by a 3rd party. We are wanting a search box on one of our other sites that searches our database via this 3rd party site. I only know of 2 options: 1. I can create a search box that changes the word they are searching for in the web address it submits. IE: It would replace the word "voltage" to whatever the customer enters into the search box for in the address below. http://gsd.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/gsd....h_text=voltage[/color]&p_new_search=1&p_search_type=answers.search_nl 2. I know the search box on the website is in a table. If I could somehow link to this table so that it appears on my website. I am not sure of the best option or if a 3rd one exist and I have no idea (despite my best efforts) of how to implement it. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Hi Guys, I am new to html and I have a whole bunch of third party CPM banners that I would like to put on my website. However, these banners often load some other third party ads that often redirect my main page along with it to the ad website. So I was wondering how I can isolate that CPM banner to it's own frame or whatever so that if it does decide to load a another ad and decides to redirect, it would only redirect the frame that it is in and not the whole site. An example of what my problem is can be found in the link below: http://h1.ripway.com/tsubakinomai/op...a27-naruto.jpg As you can see, I've already made a new frame set for the ad but it still redirects the WHOLE page to the ad site, and this is not because of the hosting. Does anybody know how to solve this? Thanks! I have built a site for a friend using squarespace. They asked me to add this code to the site but it won't display correctly. Can anyone help? I am trying to create a page containg 2 frames, right frame, and mainFrame. I am using the right frame to allow users to click links to remote sites browsable within the mainFrame. However, most of these sites require cookies and keep opening links in a new window. Is there a way to enable 3rd party cookies within frames, and to also disable links within the mainFrame from opening in a new window? p.s. I know Firefox allows users to use 3rd party cookies in frames. Thanks Hi everyone, I'm new here and so far it looks great! What I am trying to do is to make an HTML tracker. Sort of like the Where's George thing. It's a little keychain with a serial number on it, so if someone finds one, they enter the number on my website then send it on. I know it probably needs to be a cgi form, but I am new to HTML and have done no cgi. I would like it to display the results automatically on a new page. So all in all, you enter were you found it, and the number; then it displays all of it's stops on a page. Thanks. Hello, Thanks for taking a look at my question. I am in the beginning stages of setting up a site for a client and am running into the three pixel text jog problem with ie. Can anyone please take a look at my code and help me resolve this? Thank you for your time in advance. Thanks, Steve site: http://homepage.mac.com/stephenjames...ogh/index.html css: http://homepage.mac.com/stephenjames...s/ogh/main.css Hi. Im not sue if it has anything to do with HTML. But when I post an ad on CL, or any other web site of taht kind, is there any way to keep track of how many ppl opened my ad? I'm allowed to insert any HTML code in my posts. Thanks What is the best way to track visitors for free? Right now I have a site that uses ONLY html. The host provides a tracker, but I think it's trash and they push their upgraded service for way too much money. So, I'm really looking for a free service that won't put a pop-up or huge banner, etc. Thanks for reading. I'm trying to impliment a work order system on my website, and example can be seen here of the work order system beta i'm working on, http://www.army.mil/oldguard/workorder/pworkorder.htm I need to be able to assign a work order number automatically that will not only go in the e-mail that flexmail sends out from the form, but also lets the user know what their work order number will be. Also, the work order number should not increase unless there is a successful form submission. The army is paranoid so we have no access to asp, php, perl, or cgi on the server, has to all be done with ajax, javascript, and html. The only other 3rd party software is felxmail and all it handles is the sending of the information fed to it via e-mail. Thank for any help you can provide. Ok I know this isn't really a HTML issue, but to avoid complex clientside pixel-counting of fonts I've thought of something far more simple. I need to limit the length of a string to stop it wrapping. The first step is to limit the string's length in characters, using the following php script: PHP Code: function trim_string($string) { $trim_string = '...'; $chars = 55; $chars_adjusted = $chars - strlen($trim_string); if (strlen($string) > $chars) { $string = substr($string,0,$chars_adjusted); $string .= $trim_string; } return $string; } Fine, no problem. Now however the strings are not all of equal length because of differences in length of each character (see the warmdebate.com homepage for my debacle). I thought that a relatively simple solution would be to simple use some sort of CSS or HTML wizardry to stretch the trimmed string to a fixed length (like full alignment, only for a non-wrapped string). Since this doesn't involve pixel counting or anything like that I figure it should be doable in CSS or HTML. Also, if there are any standard solutions to this other than what I'm proposing please let me know! Hey guys, I've got some files which are in a password protected directory inwhich the directory has a generic username & password I'm after a way I can track who has accessed the site or more specifically who has downloaded the file/s . Is this best done using SQL and if so can somebody please explain the steps or direct me to a script ? Cheers in advance OK, so I have a dynamic table that can be filtered. The full table has just over 250 rows. My problem is that even by setting their display property to 'none', it still causes the rows to take up what seems to be a pixel of space. So, if several consecutive rows are hidden, it causes noticeable white space to appear and it can make it look really bad. In some cases over 100 consecutive rows are hidden and it causes a very large blank space to show. Oddly, I ran into this problem only when working in Firefox. It performs fine in IE. Here are some captures. Take note the number in the SEQ column shows what row it is: Before being filtered: After being filtered in IE: After being filtered in Firefox: I can't find anywhere else online where anyone has even had this particular problem. Can anyone help? I'm stumped. One possible solution I thought of was absolutely positioning all of the display:none rows on top of each other but I didn't know if that could work or not. Huge thanks to anyone who has a solution. I can post the JavaScript for the filtering if anyone thinks it may help. hello, I have a form it works perfect, i use natemail, however i wanted to know if there is a way that when the customer hits submit and they get that thank you page, if they can also get a "generated tracking number or referece number".. or something of that sort.. if someone can help me please reply... I can post my scrip.. even though I have Previously, posted this tread in php scrip, lots of view but no one has posted any reply, can some just tell me if its possiable? or is there anything similar, i need some guidence... thanks I will be brief in hoping that the issue does not require a thesis to properly fix. I'm dealing with tables within tables..within tables. In one instance, I have a 2x1 (row by column) table inside another table. So, we'll call the inside table "B" and the outside table "A". Table B is centered inside a column in Table A. I'm trying to maximize the space, but nearly nothing works. Setting Table B height=100% does nothing. The only thing that works is setting the height=N px, where N is a number. This is no good, as I want to the site to work on all resolutions. I want it to be proportional. How can I fix this? Here's what I'm dealing with, visually: Any help would be welcome. Thanks. I want to pass the value from 'event.clientX' of the html line: "alert(event.clientX)" to a javascript. Right there on the same page. How can I do that? regards, ab good grief, hunting around I run across the fascinating information that 'alert' IS javascript ! Then how come this works: <html> <head> <title>Event</title> </head> <body onclick="alert(event.clientX + ' x ' + event.clientY)"> </body> </html> ? Javascript can be embedded in html and doesn't need that "<script language="javascript">" business? god almighty, what's going on............? I am wanting to create a booking form for my website, before you can make a booking you have to be able to check is available in your area. So I am wanting to be able use one form where you can enter all the required details and when you enter a postcode you click check, which will give a pop up box saying if someone is available or not. The problem I have found is if I use a link then the PHP code doesn't get any values from the form, if I use a submit button it does pass the value but the popup only comes up for a split second. Here is the code for the form as I said if I click the Check Button, it passes the value but only shows the pop up for a second, If you click "Find Driver" first it shows the Pop up but it is blank as It doesn't get the value from the form. If you click check and then Find driver it works fine, but I am wanting to find a solution by only using one click. HTML Code: <div id="form"> <form name="f1" method="post"/> <p> ID: <br/> <input name="ID" type="text" value="Leave Blank" /> </p> <p> Name: <br/> <input name="Name" type="text" /> </p> <p> Address: <br/> <input name="Address" type="text" /> </p> <p> Postcode:<br/> <input name="Postcode" id="Postcode" type="text" /> <input type='Submit' value='Check' onclick="popup('popUpDiv')" /> <p><a href="#" onclick="popup('popUpDiv')">Find Driver</a></p> </p> <p> Telephone: <br/> <input name="Telephone" type="text" /> </p> <p> Mobile: <br/> <input name="Mobile" type="text" /> </p> <p> AltTelephone: <br/> <input name="AltTelephone" type="text" /> </p> <p> Email: <br/> <input name="Email" type="text" /> </p> <p> Date: <br/> <input name="Date" type="text" /> </p> <p>Notes: <br/> <input name="Notes" type="text" /> </p> <p> CompanyNotes: <br/> <input name="CompanyNotes" type="text" /> </p> <p> Payment: <br/> <input name="Payment" type="text" value="Leave Blank for 0" /> </p> <p> <input type="submit" Value='Book' onclick="f1.action='insert.php'; return true " /> <!--<div id="wheel"><a href="instructorSearch.php"onClick="return popup(this, 'notes')"><img id="mainLogo" src="im/wheel.png" alt="Driving School Logo" /></a></div> !--> </p> <p><input type="submit" Value='Enquire' onclick="f1.action='insertEnquire.php'; return true " /> </form> Hi, I know how to make a username and password input form, and the submit button that is not the problem. My problem is that I have designed a background in PS.http://photoupload.org/uploads/13269813681.jpg And before anyone *****es at my for putting 'Shrimps' yes I know it is wrong. But this is for a gaming team I am in, and none of them are English. And they think that Shrimps sounds and looks better than Shrimp even though Shrimp is the correct plural. Anyway Back to the matter at hand. If you look at the background I designed, in the top left it has two boxes which is where I want to put the user and pass forms. But I don't want the boxes that naturaly come with the forms. And for the life of my I can't figure it out, I don't know weather it is HTML, XML or CSS, any help on how to get rid of the boxes that come with that would be highly appreciated, Thanks //Dave |
