HTML - Text In Table Not Aligning Properly
Im hoping someone can help me out on this one
im just getting back into coding so im a little rusty but i am somewhat stumped by this issue i have a table that the text refuses to align to top middle unless its divided up into a new cell. The best it will do is align middle left of the cell but refuses to go to the top. The site that it is on with the issue is www.gamersjoy.com the table in question is the center table with updates, as you can see everything is pushed halfway down and aligned to the left Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is slowing me down from finishing my project thanks in advance Tcanuth Similar TutorialsI am trying to get this table to align properly but to no avail so far. Also, I'd like to be able to put a form in the middle of the pictures. Here is the code for the section I am referring to: Code: <table border="10"><tr><td><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"></td><br></tr><tr> <td align="left"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"></td> <td align="right"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"></td></tr><br><tr> <td align="left"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"></td> <td align="right"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"></td></tr><br><tr> <td align="left"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"></td> <td align="right"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"></td></tr><br><tr> <td><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"><img src="bal.gif"></td></tr> </table> Hi, I am new to web design and am trying to design company website without using a site builder. I have built up my container with 3 boxes inside. In the largest I want text on the right and a 1 column 2 row table on the right - to be adjacent to each other but I can't get it to work. I don't want the text to wrap around the table. Please help. Hi! I downloaded this script off the net: http://www.htmlforums.com/attachment...1&d=1178321623 (or download attachment) and modded it to my needs. The only problem is that the orange blob on the top left breaks up (I think due to the way the tables are set up... i'm not sure i'm a BIG NOOB at HTML). This happens ONLY when I have large amounts of content... To see a live preview of this problem... please visit my website: http://www.netsafehouse.com/ http://www.netsafehouse.com/index.html << This is what the script should look like... it looks fine... BUT http://www.netsafehouse.com/Radio.html << It breaks up here. Please tell me what to do (I'm using dreamweaver)... thanks!! I started a blogger blog a few months ago with a 2-column template. Yesterday I decided to add a 3rd column. I have never done anything with html before and I tried to write the code for the 3rd column from scratch. It appears it worked out ok, but now for some reason the banner on the top is way left. I cannot figure out what to do to the code to center the banner. If anyone could help I would appreciate it. The URL is http://notqualifiedtocomment.blogspot.com/ Thanks again! I started a blogger blog a few months ago with a 2-column template. Yesterday I decided to add a 3rd column. Hi all, im sure this is an easy one for alot of you in here but here goes.... Ive got a table which is say 40 pxls high, ive split it into 2 columns and on the left I have text links and on the right im trying to put an H1 tag. Anyway when I convert my text into an H1 tag its like its been top aligned in the table and obviously I want it to sit vertically in the centre. Ive tried changing alignment options in dreamweaver with no effect. The text links in the left hand column display normally also. Thanks! I've been working in Flash for too long now or something, a little bit rusty with HTML. This recent website I've been working on for a friends restaurant is giving me some trouble. Im working without dreamweaver or imageready or anything like that, just code. And for some reason I cant get the table to fully line up. I know its probably going to end up being such a minor detail that Im missing, but ive spent a while now with no luck. Hoping someone can view this code and tell me what im not seeing: Http://www.lindesignz.com/mazzeh (p.s. I know I broke it up more than it needs to be. its for future graphic edits.) Gah, I've been sitting here trying to do this for hours and my head is utterly boggled! This is the kind of thing I want, I've tried aligning the text within the table to the bottom and then wrapping it around the image but obviously I'm just a huge, epic failure. Eck. (I don't know if you can catch the longshore-drift of my beautiful art--oh, how I kid you --but the black box represents an image and the lines are text!) Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks lovelies. I didn't screw this page up like the earlier page I posted.I inserted text ,but am unable to align it properly.Any help would make me and Kelli Maroney very happy this New Year. Hi I am new to this site and very new to html. I just know the basics. My problem is, is there a way to make 1 line of text be split for example have 1 part of the line be aligned to the left and the other to the right. Here is an example, the first part is what is actually happening and the second part is the way i want it to look. This is an example. This is an example This is an example. This is an example. I just realized that my second part of the example didnt come out the way i wanted. So i want the second part to have the first part aligned to the left and the second part aligned to the right. Please help. Its probably really easy but like i said i just know the basics. Thanks in advance for any help that is given Mike Hi, I seem to have lost the code I had for aligning text. I know it's simple, can someone help me. Take a look at my newsletter at http://www.ilovejesus.com/lot/awesomebks/news.shtml. You will note the text is not lined up correctly with the book covers. I don't want it to be completely lined up like a newspaper, just look a little better than it does. Thanks. Hi everyone! On a site I am making there's a table which -- only in the IE-s including version 7 -- is not properly displayed: the column containing the text is only approx. half filled in width. Most (not to say all) other browsers get this right... Anyone got an idea, why this could be? Thx and best, T Hi this is my first post. I am frustrated with how the bulleted "inspection" list is not aligned to the top. This is the code I'm working with: Code: <div id="table"> <table> <tr> <td><h4>Auto Repairs</h4> </td> <td><h4>Maintenance</h4></td> <td><h4>Inspections</h4></td> </tr> <tr> <!--Auto Repairs--> <td> <ul> <li><strong>Brake Repair & Brake Pads</strong></li> <li>Custom Exhaust</li> <li>Check Engine</li> <li>Battery</li> <li>Alternators</li> <li>Starters</li> <li>Timing Belt</li> <li>Waterpump</li> </ul> </td> <!--Maintenance--> <td> <ul> <li>30, 60, 90k-mile Service</li> <li>Oil Changes</li> <li>Tune Ups</li> <li>Transmission Service</li> <li>Power Steering Flush</li> <li>Antifreeze/Coolant Service</li> <li>Brake Fluid Flush</li> </ul> </td> <!--Inspections--> <td> <ul> <li>Free 30-Point Inspection</li> <li>MD State Inspections</li> <li>Emissions</li> <li>Diagnostics</li> </ul> </td> </tr> </table> Thanks for helping me. Hi, I'm needing to align an html table with x and y values. However, I've never done this before, where do I need to put the values in the code? Thank you! I created a layout in Photoshop CS3 and used the slice tool, which generated a table for me based on the slices. The problem is, I need the table to be aligned at the very top of the page without a space, without having to set the table height to 100%. Is there a way this can be done? Well, I am new to HTML and I would just like to say that I appreciate anyone who takes their time to busy themselves with my concerns. I have a simple problem that I am not sure how to fix. My problem is that in all the tables I create, the first row of the table (the titles) are all centered, but pushed a bit to the left. I use the the text align center and <center> tags and it works on everything except the table titles, which are centered, but a bit to the left. It is fairly noticeable and is extremely annoying. Can someone try helping me out? Thanks. -fenzo666 Hi, I'm new to HTML. I have not yet started using CSS. I'm just using basic html. I'm having problem creating a nested table as shown in the attachment without using CSS style sheets. I appreciate anyone's suggestions in this. I pasted the code that tried below. <h3> 5) - Nested Table </h3> <table align="left" width="350" bgcolor="#ffff00" border="1"> <tr height="75" align="left"> <td height="100" > </td> <td height="75"> test2 </td> <td height="75"> </td> </tr> <clear="left" /> <tr> <td> <table align="left" bgcolor="f5f5dc" border="1"> <tr> <td width="100%" height="75"> a nested table </td> <td width="100%" height="75"> With this text at the top </td> </tr> <tr> <td width="100%" height="75"> </td> <td width="100%" height="75"> </td> </tr> </table> </td> </tr> <tr height="75" align="left"> <td></td> <td></td> <td></td> </tr> </table> Thanks in advance I apologize if it is improper protocol to post a link rather than the actual code but since View>Source exists for seeing both the html and css code and there is a fair amount of code...here is the link: http://nicolemuller.com/IMS/FINAL/ne...al/signin.html I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I cant get all the elements in the 2 rows to align and center with the rule of the menu strip. Any help would be great-thanks! Hello, This is my first time in HTML world and I'm a complete n00b. I'm trying to put a counter on my blog for facebook/twitter/google+/rss to keep track of them on the blog. This is working fine, at least facebook and twitter are automatically updated (through a script I picked up on the internet), google+ and RSS is still manual, I still need to figure those ones out. Now I would like to nicely align the counters with the icons I have, and that's my problem. I want the text centered under the icon it belongs to, but I don't know how. With my lack of knowledge I found a somewhat cumbersome way to do that. Not that bad, simply not nice coding, but when the page is zoomed in or something the like, the aligning obviously doesn't work anymore. Could someone help me do the aligning properly?
