HTML - Iframe Horizontal Scrolling (possible Ie8 Only?)

Hello,

I have a demonstration site set up at: http://www.sikhfaith.com/demo

The site works perfectly in Firefox 2.0. However, in Internet Explorer 7.0, there's a huge blank space on the right side of the page which causes IE to display a horizontal scrollbar.

I haven't been able to pinpoint what is causing this. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having a little problem. I've created a webpage that's 1280 pixels wide using HTML tables to structure my layout.

I've tried viewing my page on a lower screen resolution - for example 800x600 but the page doesn't hold it's structure and allow me to view the page properly by placing a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the screen.

Instead the browser squashes all the data to fit within the 800 pixel width of the screen.

Is there some code I can insert in the page that commands the browser to display a scroll bar instead of squashing all the data to fit the 800 pixel width?

I'm testing at the moment in Firefox 3.6.15 on Mac OSX 10.6.3.

I've seen on some sites that images show up within a block and they scroll left and right when user clicks a button. And many times, these are not flash files, but html, or xhtml or dhtml or asp or php or some other extensions.

I am trying to create a database of images all with labels (multiple), so that I can pull all images of a label to a window and have them scroll right and left with buttons.

does anyone here know how this may be done?

Hello. First time here asking for help. Hope there's a solution!

The site in question is http://www.jason-bradbury.com/Design.html. It's my first attempt at web design and I'm stumped.

The goal is to present my art portfolio in a horizontal scrolling layout with a fixed header and footer. Ideally it would look identical across the many browser platforms.

On a Windows laptop, my page looks and functions as it should in the latest browser versions of Safari, Google Chrome and Firefox as long as there aren't a stack of toolbars enabled. If toolbars are present (mostly in Firefox), the footer gets truncated and the page will not vertical scroll to allow it to be seen.

So my first problem is getting the vertical scrolling (for the entire page including header and footer) to appear only when necessary in that situation.

On my Mac Pro (I have not been able to test a Macbook yet) the page appears normal across the board with Safari and Firefox (have not tested Chrome or IE)

The second problem is that in all versions of IE (and older versions of Firefox prior to 4.0) the page is displayed incorrectly.

In IE, the header is missing, the left margin is way off and a vertical scrollbar is present for the body (again, if the vertical scrolling was for the entire page it wouldn't be so bad). As for the horizontal scrolling, it is very sluggish in IE.

Firefox only has the vertical scrollbar in the body problem and since the header is shown in that browser, the body overlaps it when scrolled up.

The page was originally designed in iWeb and then I had to tweak the code in Dreamweaver to get the fixed header and footer.

I'm working with an iframe and I'm trying to manipulate the scrolling abilities. I'm wondering if there's a way to set scrolling only for vertical movement, not horizontal.

I've searched and searched but i havnt found anything on this,

basically im making a client a site that they want to be able to edit themselves after im done with it. Im using a drop down menu but if they want to add a link to one of the menus they dont want to have to go thru every 100+ page.

To solve this problem i have put the header on index.html and made an iframe for the other content. First, is there anyother suggestions you guys have?

2nd,

for somereason or another sometimes the content puts an extra break where there isnt one in the content page, like the iframe works, but theres is annoying extra space, and i just want everything to line up smack with the nav bar thats on top.
also, the iframe is 800 px
i made verrry sure that the content was less than 800 pixels but it still scrolls left and right!!
is there a way to disable the x-scroll in an iframe?? Thanks,

I'm using a thin iFrame in one of my websites and an anchor to decide where it starts. The anchor only controls the vertical component of the webpage. Is there a way to specificy a horizontal anchor in pixels or location?

i have spent about 45min reading through alot of Iframe related threads but none of them have helped my problem.

I have a website with iframes, on my index page i am trying to put an iframe into the content box so when you click the links up top it will load them without refreshing the whole page.

So thats fine i put in my iframe code like this

And on the html document im trying to put into it "homeframe.html" it open up but it scrolls horizontally not vertically and all the writing goes onto 1 line horizontally. The width of my content box is 780px so i made the table in the homeframe.html document 780 so it wouldnt have the bar but it does.

I have 2 IFrames on a page. I am going to end up with a long list of shows to catch-up on.
Is there a way I can embed an IFrame with the list, and when you click on a show, you it will change the Playing Show

i've a very simple html page, where i have an iframe. The problem is that i want to add some text below the iframe. however, my text keeps showing up on the right hand side of the iframe. i've looked at the tutorials discussing the tags available for iframe, but surprisingly, none seem to relevant to this.

Now here is my problem. I'm not familiar with other laguages then html and a little bit of javascript and I wanted to make a site for me and my brothers photography company. I currently using dreamweaver and have figured out the way I want to make this site. I tried using ordinary frames, but I want the website to be aligned in the middle and I could make that happen.

That is why I went into iframes and a regular table on the index page. My problem now is that I have several iFrames and I want a link from one to open in another.

here is a link for this to happen, and the simple solution is to name the frame and then target the link. but I have tried that and when the link is from one iframe to another it won't work. If the link is on the index page and target the iframe then it works. Do you have any idea why this happens? I know it's possible since the link above does it.

How can I insert a iframe [i.e. 300x200px] inside of another iframe [i.e. 700x500px] and pull different web content n each one?

kind of concentric iframes or like a 'Donut iframe'

Hey all. I have been working on this website that my friend had been designing, and was just wondering if this was possible.

The way it is now, the topmost div's are supposed to stay in their position at all times, and the only part that would scroll would be the main body.

The two body divs (left and right) have been placed inside the div that should be scrolling.

I know there is the css overflow, but the problem is, there is no fixed height on the div, so this method isn't quite right.

If anyone knows of a way where we could just start the scrolling at a certain point down the page, that would be great.

When you scroll down, the links on the sides scroll off the top. I dont like this...

What i want to happen, is for them to be fixed, like the background, so when you scroll down, the links around the sides dont move.
