HTML - How Do I... Make Menu Links Only Change Page Content? Read More ->
Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone could help me? I wish to produce a website which works in the following way: The header and footer remain the same, and do not reload on page refresh. Then, links on a menu bar stimulate loading a new page, however only the content below the header changes. An example of this, is the CushyCMS website (http://www.cushycms.com). When you click the menu links, the header doesn't reload, only the page content does. How would I do this? My reason for wanting this method, is because I wish to have an image slider present within the header of all of my pages, and I don't wish to have to update every page each time I wish to add an image. Please help? Many thanks, Luke Similar Tutorialshi I have a website that created with frontpage and I want to make linkbar like marquee links in left side of page I could make marquee link bar but I want to know if I can make marquee to read links from another page that I could update that page and all marquee in every page automatically updat? Sorry for bad language Thanks for help Nima On my website I am trying to make a drop down menu change a script below it. If you go to http://www.breezybucks.com/article/newtemplate and click on "Custom Order Prizes" on the left you should see a drop down menu and an amazon flash file below it. I want it to be so that when you change from "Video Games" to "Electronics", it will load another flash file (from an already made amazon script). Here is my script right now... Quote: <select NAME="amazon"> <option>Video Games</option> <option>Electronics</option> <option>Books</option> </select> <Amazon Flash Script> <2nd Amazon Flash Script> Any idea how to do this? Here it is now: http://acidtripmediaproductions.com/lmi/links.html What can I do to it so that it doesnt look so plain? I was going to take banners/logos of the few companies & make them a image with a link to the website, but not all of the websites had a really good image or logo that would work. What other tricks can I try? Hi, I am trying to figure out how to make my links stay on the left side page while scrolling down or up. Not sure if this is the right place to post. Any help, codes, and/or examples would be great. Thanks not sure if i need a js for this but I have a web page using page jump links to navigate a FAQ page. However, I would rather have a drop down menu/form with the links instead of a list of text links. Anybody have a clue? thanks in advance. This is what I have so far as an example... <form name="jump"><select id="select" name="select"> <option value="" selected="selected">Select</option> <option value="#1">Category 1</option> </select></form> <a id="1" name="1"></a> Category 1 Hi I am trying to implement jQuery hovercard as specified he http://github.com/rrrene/tipsy.hovercard This code as an example uses data-url which specifies a html page that contains the html to use in the hovercard. But my site uses Smarty classes and so the images i want to show in my hovercard have already been found and the links loaded into variables. How do I turn this html Code: <a href="some.html" rel="hovercard" title="loading..." data-url="tip.html">Hovercard w/ AJAX Flavour</a> into a statement that reads from a bit script that can load using the variables already populated? I cant find anything on the web about data-url. Its all data:URL. Thanks Darren To briefly explain what is happening.... I can hover over my links on my index.html page. Click any of them which directs me to the proper page... but any remaining licks change to the same as first previously clicked link and stays there Wierd. Therfore clicking does nothing at this point. I can refresh to the index page again and everthing is back to normal. I can hover over any link I want but if I click it it will go to the correct page , but then the remaining link all change to that one. Is the a problem with my html or css file? Thanks Hi, as the title says, I am wondering if there is a way to include the content of a link in the page itself. example: this is a regular link to a html page: <a href="next.html">next</a> let's say I don't want the file next.html, is there a way to include the content of next.html somewhere and refer to it from the page directly? I am not sure I am explaining this well, so I'll say it again: I want to be able to put several html files in one file, meaning I click on links for pages defined in the same html file I am viewing. (this is for use with a tab system in iframes generated dynamically from a database) As an exemple, if we use an iframe, you can include html code between <iframe>html code here</iframe> directly without using src, so I guess we can do the same for just about any link? for sure this can be done, but can it be done in html or do I have to use javascript or something? thank you I currently have my sponsors listed like this (at the bottom of the page) http://www.ballermag.com/ But I would like to upgrade this part of my website to look something like this: http://www.sportanddev.org/ Any advice about the html code for this style would be appreciated! If its as easy as that. Not sure how much is involved with building a block like the one on that page... I'm guessing its more difficult than just copying the code. Hi All I am making some new pages for my websites and want them all link together. They are all coded to reached the main page by <a href> tag but also want each of the new pages to link together. So I guess my question is Will I have to add a new <a href>tag such as <a href="htmlforums.html">How to make multiple links all connect</a> and so on on each new page..... Thanks for your help I just need a basic code for this. For what I presume is basic anyway. On MySpace, I'll insert links, and MySpace will automatically make it a hyperlink, but won't allow you to visit certain links that you click on. How do you prevent it from being a link and so that it's just text? I thought <nohtml> worked, but apparently it doesn't exist. Would help me out loads, thanks, Sam/. Ok, right, so I have some pictures in a table (Question1) and some text (Question2). Question 1 Is there a way of having a loading picture before the original image shows up? Question 2 Is there a way of having a loading picture before the text shows? This is only 'cause i would like some text that 'kinda looks like it's loading first, or a delay. I have an 'Agree' box on my website so that when people enter, they have to agree to certain terms first. Is there a way of having a checkbox underneath saying 'Do not show me this page again.' and when they select that, it stores a cookie or something so that they don't see the page again? The site: http://www.tc-ua.piczo.com/ Give me your comments and ideas. Thanks; ToshNeox hi all, One strange issue with html <a> tags.We have XP English and Japanese machines and issue is getting only in XP Japanese machines. I have been trying to figure out how I would make links and images appear in the same section of many different pages using code. Is this possible in HTML/CSS, which are the only languages I have any experience in. If you need anymore information, let me know and I'll add more details. Hi, I have a very basic question. In the past, every time I've made updates to the website, I have to refresh my browser to get the new content. How long does it typically take for browsers to check for new content? Is there a way to put something in the html header so that browsers will do this automatically? I suppose not, but just asking. Thanks, Linda. I'm not sure how to explain this, but I hope someone can help me or point me in the right direction. I'd like to have a small side column on my website with content such as recent updates. Ideally, I'd like to be able change just one file and have that reflected on every page. Right now, I have to go through and update each page manually but I know there must be an easier way to do this. I'm thinking this is somehow related to RSS feeds but I don't really know much about them and I'm not sure if that's what I'm actually looking for. Can anyone offer any advice/tutorials/suggestions/help for a way to do this? The site I'm working on is located here and the section that I would like to be able to change that right column ("Recently Updated"). How do I make a button change images when a user rolls over his/her mouse? Thanks. How do I make a button change images when a user rolls over his/her mouse? Thanks. I have a site with many pages and have and a navigation index on the left and bottom and want to be able to set this up so that when I change the navigation, all screens change. Any instructions out there? Thanks! Right now i'm trying to make it so that an image is on my webpage, and when someone rolls their mouse over it, it changes to another image. It's a simple image conversion, all I changed is the arrow's depth. Thanks! Help-my-HTML |
