HTML - Trying To Change Tables To Div!!
Is there any type of tool that will help me change tables to divs. I have found a template I like but it uses tables. Since I do not know much about tables it is confusing. Or lacking a program that will help me maybe someone would explain it to me. Is there a tuterail that will help me. If I am right I should be able to get all this stuff into css.

I checked the source code, and from what I can see, it's a basic form with nothing special to it. How is this done? I want to mimic this effect, but I can't find any information on how to do this. Example: <table> ... </table> <table> ... </table> When you want the tables to be placed next to each other, you need to set the align attribute. Example: <table align="left"> ... </table> <table align="left"> ... </table> BUT: When you do it like in the 2nd example (tables next to each other), in Firefox, the tables will wrap to a new line if there is no more space. In Internet Explorer, the tables will not wrap. The result is a horizontal scrollbar or "hidden tables". Why this? How can I make the tables wrap also in Internet Explorer as it does in Firefox? Is it possible with a special CSS definition or with a special DIV/SPAN tag? Thanks for your help praiser Hey everyone, I'm new to these boards. Somewhat a newbie at web design, but I know basics. I have a table I created and I want to have a page that allows you to fill in text boxes to answer questions and then when submitted it will put the answers in the correct cell of the table. I have no idea how to do this and am limited in my html skill. If some one could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it greatly. http://www.roleplayingmaps.net/sheet.htm This is the table I have already created. Thanks for taking the time to read. Id like to put multiple tables on one of my web pages. Each would contain an RSS feed, but how do i get the tables in the same row ? id like it to look kinda like this in my page. <table1> <table2> <table3> <table4> <table5> <table6> <table7> <table8> <table9> Can anyone tell me how to achieve this? Thanks Jake Hey, i'm trying to make a simple site, and right now i have one page with a table centered. That all works good, and when you change the size of your webpage, the table always stays centered. My problem is i would like to do this with DIV, because CSS allows more positing control. Yet, when i put a DIV table somewhere when i change the size of my webbrowser the table just disapears off to the site instead of staying centered (even thou its not set to stay centered) I geuss a better question would be how can i control where the table is, but keep it relitive to the size of the window? With CSS or with HTML. Thanks. Hey guys, Im trying to to add images to the left and right of an area on my site at: www.darkregions.com I attached a picture to this post with red circles of where I want the images to be. The problem is, I havn't done any HTML in a long time and I tried fooling around with the code to try to get the images in those locations but couldn't do it. Could someone please view the source of the main page and tell me what I need to add/change to get images in those two locations? Thanks a bunch to anyone who helps! i dont know if this belongs in here, but i was wondering if you could please tell me the code for the rounded square outlines around the text like this http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...endid=35605078 any help will be appreciated I have been working on rebuilding a website using my somewhat dated knowledge of html. It works fine for my daily needs but I got to a page where I needed a table in a table. What I did looks great in Firefox, but when I check it in IE7 it turns into a nightmare. I'm stuck. Can anyone shed any light on where I turned left when I should have turned right (or something of that sort)? I tacked the page onto another site for now. It's at: http://www.cincinnatigolfcourseguide...m-ductwork.php When i make a table, it will goto the next line, for example if i want an image on the left of my table, the image will go first, and thenthe table will automatically be displayed on the next line. Is there any way i can fix this is CSS, HTML, Javascript, anything? If you need more info on my problem i could take a print screenn... Cheers! Here's an example - I want the images to be at either side of the table, so theres no space... Hi everybody, I am kind of a newbie and i have a "big" problem which i can't solve. I created some menu tables on the left side of my site, but I cannot seem to align them to the top of the table and they keep moving to the middle. On one version of this site i "pushed" them upwards with another 100% height invisible table from the bottom but it doesnt seem to work on an other version. Please help me! How could I align the tables to the top inside of another table? Thanks a lot for your help! If I was hardly understandable I'm sorry, I created a little example table: <table height=400 width=600 border=3 bordercolor=#000000><tr> <td width=20% border=3 bordercolor=#000000><table> <td border=3 bordercolor=#000000 align=center><table><tr><td><table border=1 bordercolor=#000000><tr><td><table align=center><tr><td> Menu 1</td></tr></table></td></tr><tr><td><table><tr><td></td><td> <a href="">Button 1</a></td></tr></table></td></tr><tr><td><table> <tr><td></td><td><a href="">Button 2</a></td></tr></table></td></tr> </table></td></tr></table><table><tr><td><table border=1 bordercolor=#000000><tr><td><table align=center><tr><td>Menu 2</td> </tr></table></td></tr><tr><td><table><tr><td> </td><td><a href="">Button 1</a></td></tr></table></td> </tr><tr><td><table><tr><td></td><td> <a href="">Button 2</a></td></tr></table></td></tr></table></td></tr> </table></td> </table></td> <td width=80% border=3 bordercolor=#000000 valign=top align=center>How could I "stick" the menu tables on the left side to the top, like this text on the right side with valign=top? </td></tr><table> Any idea on how I can get a table with rounded edges? I have my table all finished and everything.. it looks nice, except the fact that my words.. some of them are cut off. anyone know how to fix this? I have tried making my table smaller in width than my "div", but that still doesn't work. If you could please help me I would greatly appreciate it, and I would like to thank you in advance. |
