HTML - Clear Default Input Value Upon Click

I have a basic input box with a default value of "Enter Your Email Address". I am looking to have that clear as soon as the user clicks in the text area to type their address. Any suggestions on how to do this? Similar TutorialsI'm trying to put default values in my Input fields, which are text fields, of course, but I have numeric input values so I want them on the right. IF Google toolbar is enabled then you can click on the fields that Google recognizes for autofil but not on the fields it does not. I am baffled by this one. Any ideas??? Hi guys, I am working on a site and one of the pages has a weird issue. Sometimes, you cannot click in to: First name: Last name: E-mail: Phone : It is weird, as it usually affects 2 fields at a time and appears to happen randomly. Occurs in IE7 and Konqueror (KDE browser), but not in Firefox. If someone could tell me what is causing the problem, that would be perfect! The upload works fine, but I need to display some filenames by default, but this does not work. I tried using: <input type="file" name="images[]" value="<?php echo $default_filename; ?>"... This did not work, so I tried: <input type="file" name="images[]" value="Testfile.jpg"..., but this does not work too. All this is in a <form action="<?php echo $_PHP_SELF; ?>" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data">. It seems to me that in an input field of type "file", default values are not accepted, though they should be according to the documentation. Now, I'm wondering, is there any way that I can set a default value for this? Ex "C:\My Documents\file.txt". I tried value=, but I guess it doesn't work for the "file" type. I'd change it, but I need it to be "file".. Any help? Edit: Just realized that spelling mistake in the title.. Hi, after testing my site in IE8 I've discovered a large bug with my site - right now I am using this tag to make my contianer div extend til the navigation and content is finished: Code: <br style="clear: both;" /> However, this code doesn't work in IE8 and the container DIV becomes way too short. I've researched online and I've found this is a known issue with IE8, but I haven't found a way to circumvent it - is there another way? Thanks Seems I read somewhere that the <clear> tag is now deprecated. I find great use for it and wonder if it really is deprecated. I'm composing a friend's resume in html. I'm using nested divs to create a two column format. Each row is a div block that contains two smaller divs--one for each column. Each row uses the attribute clear:both; so that the next row will form cleanly beneath it. I am getting the desired format, but as I add more and more rows, the web browser becomes dramatically slower. 20 rows will make the page un-loadable and the browser crashes. I am looking to have an entry box with a simple submit button, then i would like the submissions to be displayed below in the order they are submitted. I would also like to limit the number of submissions that show on the page at a given time by creating multiple pages that can be viewed. This seems like a very simple issue but im having trouble finding solutions on the web. Would inserting a java app or some other secondary tool be better? Any help is appreciated -Matt I've got a website here that's split into two frames. The top frame is the header and the bottom frame is the page body. When I print, it only seems to print the header. How can I get it to print the body by default (i.e. without clicking on the body first)? Is this code necessary if I only need zero for all of these, in any given table?
