HTML - Trying To Avoid Duplicate Coding
I am creating my first website I want to include the same code in multiple pages but only list the code in one place Is this possible?
Similar Tutorialswhen using tabela and css-headers etc there is always a padding around it that has the same color as the background. i want my tables or whatever i will use to sit fit together with nothing in between. a lot of pages have this so it is possible obv, but how? I know a little about HTML, but I'm getting stuck on a redirection part of a website I run. I'm trying to set up the photo album link and what I want to happen is the photo bucket page to show up under my links on my page instead of popping up a new window. If anyone needs additional info to help I'll give what I can, thanks! First of all, my site has been devoid of tables up until now. It has also been devoid of position defined div tags. I have been using CSS as well as I know how, I've been designing strictly with ems, and I strive to make everything validate. My problem is, that I don't know how to reliably produce text within or overlaying images. I made a really simple attempt at it he http://www.eversnug.com/test3.php To make the example really easy to look at and break apart, I have designed it without any external CSS, and it is all laid out in pxs. Unfortunately, I have broken the cardinal rule, and used a TABLE for something that is CLEARLY not tabular. This works GREAT in Safari and Chrome, but Opera and Firefox do not handle it the way I would like, and IE butchers it! What can I do? Is there a better, totally different means to accomplish this overlay effect? Do I need to learn a new workaround for designing with tables? Please help, and thanks in advance. Is there any way to avoid to print buttons or images in printer Hi folks, I'm an amateur webpage designer. I've recently set up a page and am trying to see if there's a solution to something I've noticed when I view my page. In Internet Explorer and icab, it shows the way I would like, but in Safari and Firefox, I see a problem. My webpage is: http://www.worldwideaccessiblewashrooms.com At the top, I have the webpage title in a table. In Safari and Firefox, there is more space on the bottom of the text inside the table than on the top. I used a straightforward table html: <center> <table bgcolor="#f2e891" border="0" style="border: 3px solid black;"> <tr> <td><h2>Worldwide Wheelchair Accessible Washrooms</h2></td> </tr> </table> </center> Is there a way I can change this so that there is equal space above and below the text inside the table box? Thanks![/url] Hi all, I'm looking for ways, how I can avoid multiple form submissions, when a user repeatedly (intentionally or not) refresh the browser (F5 button) after submitting a form? The input in my form is simply an email address. Nothing else. It is used for forgot password function. I have tried unset or set the $_POST['email'] to empty, but it doesn't help. Is there a clever way to do this? Hi I have codes which are the same in a few HTML files. I'm wondering if there's an easier way to include the codes in every file without having to copy and paste them. I'm looking at a similar way, like ASP files, to include similar codes in asp files. I want to put simple text message/alert up top my page simple text file/db with A,B,C,D,E,F So on refresh B will show up and if i hit it again C will show up and so on. Just rotating text on every visit by anyone or on refresh by a single user As some may know I have been trying tom gte my nav menu code ina style sheet, which I thought would be relatively straightforward with a bit of help. I approached the support of my program Serif WebplusX5 yesterday and said; "Please look at http://www.brand-newhomes.co.uk/page134.htm I want to get all the nav code intop an external stylesheet. The page will load faster (better for SEO) Every page wont contain the 120 links (better for SEO - google penguin!) and it will be easier for me to manage and edit without re loading the whole site every time. All in all it is a must have for me! I was advised on the forum that X5 would let me do this and that X5 had external stylesheets. I just need some help with the script and javascript files and links to them. I have with some help managed to do the CSS ones. Can you also tell me where the "Optimise your sites for search engines and speed" is located in X%? I have looked in Site Properties and that is not much better than WP10 that I had been using". This was the reply i got fobbing me off - so much for "support" "Stylesheets are used in WebPlus, but only as far as listing text styles. This doesn't to extend to fully fledged CSS stylesheets I'm afraid. The navigation bars in WebPlus use Flash and in some cases JavaScript. As the nav bars are in this format, you would wee need some form of 3rd party tool / coding to convert this into a CSS stylesheet. I'm afraid as we are essentially modifying the code that WebPlus provides, here in technical support would not be provide help or support on making a stylesheet from a nav bar - my sincerest apologies for this. "Optimize your sites for search engines and speed", as advised on the forum, as a catch all term for a number of different parts of the program. the site checker can detect any problems in the site such as long loading times and the Search section of the Site Properties will help you cerate robots.txt file for SEO purposes, amongst other tools." THIS IS WHY I AM DESPERATE FOR A BIT OF GUIDANCE ON MY OTHER POST AT: http://www.htmlforums.com/html-xhtml...ml-147517.html Hi, Quite some time ago I was faced with putting a website together for the first time for a local community group (my wife nominated me!). Rather than tell you all what it contains and how it looks, it is probably easier for me to give you the link which is the Friends of Clifton Park based in South Yorkshire, UK. This website consists of eight html pages. The first is the index, second is the welcome page and the rest are linked pages via links on the left. On every of the "linked" pages, only the main body changes, with the exception of each link showing in Caps and link disabled. The problem I'm having is that every single one of the linked html pages are the same, except the displayed text. 90% is the page set-up. So my question is: Is it possible to "import" the required text information when a link is clicked on straight into the main body of ONE html page? btw, you'll notice that the page height isn't fixed, it expands depending on amount of information in it. I have tried IFRAME but don't really seem to be getting anywhere as I can't seem to make the height auto-adjust. A specified height value has to be entered for each "page". This is no good as more information will be needed to be put on. So basically what I am trying to do is: Keep the index.html Change the welcome.html to display the main page (graphics/images, etc) Import text into main body into the welcome.html page when a link is clicked on. Thus reducing the need of duplicate html pages and just having text files containing the main body text. The main reason for wanting to do this is a) stop all the duplication of page set-up in each html file, and b) make it easier for the guy that wants to add information where needed, straight into notepad (txt file) and upload it to the website. I hope all the above makes sense and if anyone requires further information, I will only be to happy to provide it! Thank you. Hello Everyone: I created a page in HTML and added javascript. I want it to have a search function.I have created a form which is basically a textfield and a "submit button".The "submit button" is meant to display web pages in a new window when I type in particular keywords into the textfield next to the "submit button" on the website.I have written the codes below so far and it is not working.I would appreciate it if you guyz can help me out.The webpage is not online just incase you guyz need to know. Thanks very much <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <script language="Javascript" type="text/javascript"> var keywords = "transistor Google Microsoft ipod " function gothere(placetogo) { if( keyWords.search(placetogo) == -1) { alert(placetogo+"is not an accepted keyword" ) } else { document.location = "C:\Documents and Settings\Teeboi\My Documents\Memorial University\WebPages" + placetogo + ".html" } } </script> <title>DESIGN CONCEPT</title> </head> <body bgcolor="#B0B0B0"> <form name="myForm"> <input type="textfield" name="searchtext" value="transistor" /> <input type="button" name="thebutton" value="Submit" onclick="javascript:gothere(document.myForm.searchtext.value)" /> </form> </body> </html> At this website: http://sungbc.org/missions.php I liked how they made it so that the different people could be clicked on and a new mini-page would load on the page. Hey Everyone, I need to set up some kind of html form which provides people with a registration ID, or number of sorts. The application of this kind of system would be so that if I had people registering for a conference, they could receive a committee assignment immediately. I'd appreciate any responses helping me. Thanks Guys (and ladies!) Bromo8824 I work for a hospital and we are moving into a new building. The employees want me to put a simple countdown "ticker" on our intranet. The move is in a few months. Any one know code to create a date countdown? im having some trouble with putting stuff in the middle of my site because whenever i put something in the middle it moves my left nav bar down if you go here u can see what im talking about right now im using kompozer to make the site http://www.freewebs.com/zxgamerreviews/test22.html Hello, I am trying to create a page with a link that opens on a new page. This link will have an iframe to display another website. What I then want to do is have a pop over appear that will take me back to the original page. Is this possible and if so how would I code this. Oh and another thing. The first page will redirect itself after 10 secs. So this is what I want: Page A has a link that will open Page B Page A will redirect to another page after ten secs Page B will display a pop over when you click the pop over it will take you back to page A instead of opening a new page or changing to the link within page B. I hope this makes sense. So I all I need to know is how to make the pop over go back to page A. Thanks My site PLEASE READ ENTIRE THING! Some stuff I'm saying may be hard to express in typing, so use my link above to get a better picture. I need some coding help for website........Right now, if I want to post an article one of my journalists submitted, I have to go in and edit each page individually, the article doesn't just show up.....How do I make it so when someone submits an article, it gets posted on the front page, in the news and events section, and in my archives? For the front page, I want my two latest articles up there with a photo and a small description with a "more info" link that brings you to the actual article. For the news and events page, I want the latest article on the left hand side with a photo, a description, a title and the link, with the 2 previous articles on the right with all of that but no photo. For the archives page, I just want all the articles for that month in order, with the latest being on top, with a title, a description, and a link.
