HTML - Link > Highlight Result
HI,
Greetings, I would like to put a link at webpage A, eg Code: <a href="http://www.example.com"> HUHULALA </a> then when someone clicks on it, then it will link to webpage B and the page will display and highlight all the words, HUHULALA. Can we actually do that? thanks. Similar TutorialsI have an <a> tag which when you hover has the background turn grey, but it only highlights the section around the text but I would like it to be a bigger area around it. Like having text centered in a table cell and whe you hover the background turns grey. Any ideas? Hello, I have a webpage with several html anchors. The anchor part works ok, but when I click on the links, I only goto to the part of the page with all the anchors (all anchors are gathered low in the page) and I wanted to know if there is any way of highlighting the specific anchor that the user has clicked on. Thank you. I have a Web Page with the following HTML code: <div id= "BlockA" > <div style="position:absolute;left:31.82px;top:79.70px" class="cls_005">Text 1</div> <div style="position:absolute;left:340.70px;top:79.70px" class="cls_005">Text 2</div> <div style="position:absolute;left:31.10px;top:92.90px"> <span class="cls_005">Text 3</span> <span class="cls_002">Text 4</span></div> <div style="position:absolute;left:105.02px;top:92.90px" class="cls_005">Text 5/div> </div> "BlockA" is usually displayed without highlighting. However, under certain circumstances (as controled by my Web App), I would like to highlight (e.g. with backgroundcolor = "yellow") "Block A" when the Web page is displayed. The highlight should not change the classes in the div and span within "BlockA". Can anyone suggest how can I do this? Thanks in advance. sg2000 Hello everyone. I managed to do the table with days etc. I have a problem I wish to highlight a number and the cell automatically according to the date of the day. Can Someone help please? Thanks & best regards Hi all, I don't exactly know what to call it, apart from the explanation to what I want to do. Basically, I have a HTML page. On their, I have a text box and a search button and some text in a table. What I want to do is, when typing something in the box, clicking search will then jump to a part of the page and 'highlight' what is typed into the box. Ideally, the page will run in either HTML but I can use ASP. Unfortunately I cannot use PHP. Could anyone please help or give me some advise on this? Hi all, I have a very simple html file with table rows/columns. I implemented a feature where if you click once anywhere in a row, the row becomes 'highlighted' (modify the background color). The problem, and the thing I want to eliminate, is that the specific character/word that you click on also becomes highlighted. How can you keep the system from highlighting words/characters that you click on? I hope this is an easy one. Thanks, Bill HTML Code: <html> <head> <script type='text/javascript'> var currentRow=-1; function SelectRow(newRow) { for (var i = 1; i < 4; i++) { var cell=document.getElementById('cell_'+newRow+','+i); cell.style.background='#AAF'; if (currentRow!= -1) { var cell=document.getElementById('cell_'+currentRow+','+i); cell.style.background='#FFF'; } } currentRow=newRow; } </script> </head> <body> <table border=1> <tr> <td onclick='SelectRow(1)' id='cell_1,1'>cell1_1</td> <td onclick='SelectRow(1)' id='cell_1,2'>cell1_2</td> <td onclick='SelectRow(1)' id='cell_1,3'>cell1_3</td> </tr> <tr> <td onclick='SelectRow(2)' id='cell_2,1'>cell2_1</td> <td onclick='SelectRow(2)' id='cell_2,2'>cell2_2</td> <td onclick='SelectRow(2)' id='cell_2,3'>cell2_3</td> </tr> Ok, you know how you can drag the mouse over any amount of normal text and the text gets that blue border around it. Try doing the same with an input box and you can only highlight the text of one input box at a time. How can I highlight the text from multiple form input boxes at once? Hi All, I was able to Highlight in yellow a sentence. But it doesn't work on the Option / Drop Down Menu sentence. Please HEEEELLLLP me find my mistake(s) BELOW: Code: <!DOCTYPE html> <head> <title> Yellow Hightlight </title> </head> <body bgcolor="#00CCFF"> <script type="text/javascript"> window.onload=function() { document.getElementById('NewsletterList').onchange=function() { window.location=('http://www.example.com/'+this.value+''); } } </script> <select id="NewsletterList"> <option value=""><P> <FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: yellow"> PLEASE SELECT THE FOLLOWING: </FONT> CLICK This Box and Select!</P> </option> <!--this option takes you to your home page--> <option value="xxxxx">yyyy</option><!--this option takes you to . . . . . </body> </html> Hi...not sure if this is the proper place to post this or not. I'm trying to do two things...first: I'm trying to set up a search box in frame 1 that will search, scroll to and highlight text in frame 2. Is this possible? I've been searching around for days looking for answers, and have so far come up short. I managed to create a search box in frame 1 that reloads frame 2, but that's not really what I'm after. ---------------------------- Now for the second thing I'm looking to do (along the same lines): I want to click a link in frame 1 that scrolls to a target in frame 2 and highlights it. The target is a word in the middle of a paragraph. Any help would be appreciated. I'm pretty green, so treat me like a beginner. Thanks so much! I have several links on my site, all in the form of <a href="http://www.mywebsite.com">mywebsite</a> How do I need to change it such that a new instance of the browser is used in which the linked site is displayed. Ive been working on a website in my free time, and I have been wondering if it's possible to hover over a link, and change the text color of another link. A picture of one of my web pages is shown in the link below. http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...screenshot.jpg I want to be able to hover over something from the side navigation bars and have various links in the bottom naviational bar change color. So like hovering over Blood Elf, would make Death Knight, Mage, Paladin, Warlock, Priest, Rogue, Hunter turn red Does anyone know how to do this? or even know if it is possible? Hi, I'm newly registered and seeking some assistance. I'm working on a website for a client and come across an issue. The following is my iFrame code: Code: <div id="iframez"> <iframe src="main.html" width="100%" height="400px" name="framez"></iframe> </div> I have a link that is at the bottom of the page that is supposed to load in the iFrame when clicked upon. The code is as follows: Code: <a href="somelink.html" target="framez">some link</a> What I want is when the link is clicked that it loads in the iframe (this works as intended) AND I want the page to scroll up to the iframe. I tried doing this without success: Code: <a href="somelink.html#iframez" target="framez">some link</a> This is interpreted as #iframez in somelink.html, and not the page its on. Is there any way around this? Thanks for your patience. I'd like to preface this with a note that, although I'm a programmer, my web technologies knowledge is pretty much non-existent, so I hope I'm just doing something silly here. I am setting up photo galleries on my and my wife's web sites using a flash based photo gallery called FotoPlayer. This program has a "Site Creator" function that allows a header, footer, some basic extra pages to be added to it. I started by creating a simple header that consists of 3 png files. This is added in a file called header.inc, and is used by FotoPlayer to create the pages. Code: <div style="height: 60px;"> <a href="index.html"><img src="site/images/roz-title.png" alt="Home" align="left" border="0"></a> <a href="album.html"><img src="site/images/roz-cyrene.png" alt="Cyrene Gallery" align="right" border="0"></a> </div> <br> <div style="width: 100%;"> <img src="site/images/roz-bar.png" alt="Gradient" border="0" height="4" width="100%"> </div> This looks as I expect in FireFox and Chrome, but has several problems when viewed with IE6. The left and right pictures have the "not found" images and text over them, and the gradient bar does not stretch. The other problem I'm having is some extra scroll bars being added (again, only in IE6) when the page length is longer that the browser display height. If I disable running of scripts in IE6 these problems disappear so I assume this is caused by FotoPlayer not liking my simple code. However, I have looked at about 20 other sites (some way more complicated than mine) created with FotoPlayer and they all look good in IE6, so this leads me to suspect that I am at fault here. I posted this to the FotoPlayer Forum a couple of days ago, but there has not been any answers. I'm hoping someone here can take a quick look at the page and tell me what I might be doing wrong. This is the test page: http://roz-warren.net -Mike Hi im not sure if this can be done i have created some buttons to use as links and once i put the a href code in a box appears around the button can i remove this and how plz you can see example of what i mean on my website i have made Home and Contact clickable but i want to remove the box thats around the button if possible http://dreamteam0708.co.uk/ for info: im coding my own html in notepad, not using any programs or anything and my hosting doesnt support php etc I made update to the HTML code of an website.
