HTML - Tooltip Position Problem (ignore Older Post)
I am making a website he http://musicalmadness.zymichost.com/index.htm
In the links on the left there is a page called "Solo Albums" - this is the page I'm having trouble with. As you can see, I've made tooltips over the images listing the tracks of the albums. I've decided to make them position underneath the image. However, when they are activated they are shifting the entire page around. Is there a way to make it so they simply appear OVERLAYING the rest of the page? PLEASE look at CSS. Thank you! Similar TutorialsHi, I have a website working perfectly in newer version of browsers. The bee.png image in the top left of my menu bar is giving me problems with older browsers & most hand-held devices, e.g., iTouch, cellphones, etc. Is there any kind of trick (hack) I could use so that it will properly align with all devices? Website: www.honeydocarpetcare.com Also, please let me know if you are noticing things that are out of place. If so, please tell me what browser and version you are using! Thanks all! Hello, I realize several threads have already been posted and that many of you dislike tables. I am having, however, a table issue that I think is only solvable through HTML adjustment of said table. In FF and IE8, my homepage looks excellent, just how I've laid it out. However, in earlier versions of IE (which the majority of my demographic still use), the layout of the table is askew. The remainder of my page is made up of various Flash movies, and I have tested that these are not the cause of the layout issue. The 2-cell table I have is being thrown for a loop (laying itself out to the right and stretching the site), and I'm not sure what the cause of it is. It needs to be left-aligned; below is my code: Code: <table summary="main content panel" align="left" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="535"> <tbody> <tr> <td align="left" width="15%"><img src="/images/369/images/content_image.png"></td> <td style="background: transparent url(/images/369/images/panel.png) no-repeat scroll 0% 0%; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial; vertical-align: middle; text-align: center;" align="left" width="70%"><h2 style="font-family: Arial;"><font color="#0088ce" size="6">Project Initiative</font></h2><h1 style="font-family: Arial; text-align: center;"><font size="3" face="Arial">Valmont is currently conducting research on producing rice under mechanized irrigation in an effort to conserve water and energy, and increase profitability by bringing land into production, an initiative appropriately titled <i>Circles for Rice</i>.</font></h1></td> </tr></tbody></table> I'm unsure what the "scroll 0% 0%" through "-moz-initial;" is, the CMS I'm using has thrown that code in. (BTW - cannot get out of using CMS, which I would dearly love, this is a work project, so use what I'm given ) Here is why I think I still need to use a table: I need to be able to align two images (a photo and a border) but be able to insert text on top of the border. I had originally created this in Flash, but I totally spaced that I needed some text on the homepage so Google can index the text correctly. Is there another option to accomplish what I'm trying to do, one without tables? I appreciate all other options! Thanks! Hi i was wondering if anyone can help me with making my page compatible with older browsers IE7+. Vist My New Celebrity Site Hello! Ive been struggling with this for a few hours. http://oliviergraphics.se/uneven/index.html The background pic is in the right position in every browser (I think) and the right size on all type of screens. The problem is that if I add a extra div, it takes different positions on different sizes of screens. On my 13" screen, my site is perfect. On a 17", not a chance. I can send you the codes and so on. The main problem is that, the divs don't get the same positions on every screen. Wich ruins my design, here are the whole html: Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=UTF-8" /> <title>K R E O N [Debut album this year. 2011]</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css" /> <meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no" /> <link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.gif"> </head> <body> <div id="holder"> <div><img style="width: 1920px;" alt="" src="tok.jpg" /></div> </div> <div id="body"> <div id="twitterfeed"> @<a href="http://twitter.com/KreonSweden">KREON:</a> <div id="twitter_update_list"></div> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://twitter.com/javascripts/blogger.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/kreonsweden.json?callback=twitterCallback2&count=1"></script> </div> <div id="video" style="position:absolute; bottom:20%; left:70%; margin-left:-156px;"> <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/24798537?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0&color=ffffff" width="400" height="300" frameborder="0"></iframe><p><a href="http://vimeo.com/24798537"> <div id="links" style="position:relative; margin: -10px auto; left:18%;"> <a href="https://www.facebook.com/unevenstructure"><img src="facebook.png" title="Join us on Facebook!" /></a> <a href="http://www.twitter.com/unevenstructure"><img src="twitter.png" title="Follow us on Twitter!" /></a> <a href="http://www.soundcloud.com/unevenstructure"><img src="lastfm.png" title="Listen to us on Soundcloud!" /></a> <a href="http://basickrecords.com"><img src="myspace.png" title="Visit our label BASICK Records!" /></a> </div> </div> </div> <script type="text/javascript" src="scaler.js"></script> </body> </html> PLEASE help me, i'm desperate. i have a problem with position of the page i extended the site to screen, but now i have a problem with left and right box here i have tha code http://www.speedyshare.com/881657120.html i want to look like windows, but now the left and right box not stay in the same width one is higher and other is lower please if someone can help me I am building a website in dreamweaver cs3. It displays normal in all browsers except an older version of IE (I think 6.0). I have read a bunch and have learned about float left and left margin problems with older IE versions. Nothing has helped so far. To make a long story short if you view http://whatwowart.com the right column where you sign up for newsletter etc. gets put under the whole page in older IE (I think 6.0). If someone could please help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks, John O Code can be seen at: http://whatwowart.com/code.html Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me... I made a drop down menu using fireworks for the site http://www.lakehillsca.org/ and the menu works perfectly in IE. But when viewing the site in firefox, the menu positioning isn't right. The menu uses javascript, but I'm pretty sure it isn't a javascript issue. Is there anyone out there that can figure this out??? Thanks for your time. -Chris Hello. First time here asking for help. Hope there's a solution! The site in question is http://www.jason-bradbury.com/Design.html. It's my first attempt at web design and I'm stumped. The goal is to present my art portfolio in a horizontal scrolling layout with a fixed header and footer. Ideally it would look identical across the many browser platforms. On a Windows laptop, my page looks and functions as it should in the latest browser versions of Safari, Google Chrome and Firefox as long as there aren't a stack of toolbars enabled. If toolbars are present (mostly in Firefox), the footer gets truncated and the page will not vertical scroll to allow it to be seen. So my first problem is getting the vertical scrolling (for the entire page including header and footer) to appear only when necessary in that situation. On my Mac Pro (I have not been able to test a Macbook yet) the page appears normal across the board with Safari and Firefox (have not tested Chrome or IE) The second problem is that in all versions of IE (and older versions of Firefox prior to 4.0) the page is displayed incorrectly. In IE, the header is missing, the left margin is way off and a vertical scrollbar is present for the body (again, if the vertical scrolling was for the entire page it wouldn't be so bad). As for the horizontal scrolling, it is very sluggish in IE. Firefox only has the vertical scrollbar in the body problem and since the header is shown in that browser, the body overlaps it when scrolled up. The page was originally designed in iWeb and then I had to tweak the code in Dreamweaver to get the fixed header and footer. Hope someone can help me out here! Cheers, Jason. HTML Question -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a form which has a submit button on it which then causes the following action (We send infromation back to a server which "reads" the test of an email and actions a request) Quote: <FORM ACTION="mailto:myemail@tppg.com?subject=Order Details" METHOD="POST" ENCTYPE="text/plain" NAME="frm1" Order> What this normally does is send an email to the recipient in Plain Text Format in the body of the sent email What is occasionally happening is the email being sent is multi-part message in MIME format There is a setting in MS Outlook which has an option for HTML, RTF Format, or Plain Text Is there a way to ensure that the email format is always plain text regardless of this setting ? eg, I am using Outlook 2000 with the send email setting = HTML My system still sends the Submitted email in Plain Text format (definitely is not being sent in HTML format, even though my setting says to use HTML) Wondering if it is later versions of MS Outlook causing the problem perhaps ? Any ideas most welcome, thank you MORE INFORMATION When an email is sent correctly, it has the following characteristics Quote: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.3138 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V6.00.2900.3138 ABCCRSite=CZ01 <--- beginning line of text sent Notice the = sign is followed by CZ01 When an email is sent Incorrectly, it looks like Quote: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="----_=_NextPart_001_01C7CE7E.9BFF8050" Subject: Order Details This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------_=_NextPart_001_01C7CE7E.9BFF8050 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable ABCCRSite=3DCZ01 Notice that the 3D follows the = sign (Hex 3D is an equals sign) The line "This is a multi-part message in MIME format." causes our system to crash as it is not a label - just a comment Hi, I have a set of rollover buttons that I have working with onMouseOver, onMouseOut and onMouseDown events. What I want to do (if it is possible) is ignore the onMouseOut script if the onMouseDown event has occured. Put simply ... if the button has been clicked don't reset it's state when the mouse leaves it. Can that be done? Thanks [edit] ... or re-enters it Howdy all, I have three scrolling divs that i want to be the height of the page, so i'm guessing position:absolute and height:100% will do that just fine. But i want these three scolling divs to be inside a position:fixed element so that they stay put when scrolling down the page. Is this possible? I dont think a pos:absolute will work nested inside a pos:fixed. How could i work around it? thanks! Can anyone give me a list of css props that IE doesn't like... so that I know what not to use... and the code you but in before the prop so that IE does't read it BUT ff does. i know that the second prop always over rights the 1st one... Thanks before hand... hello, i've had a bit of a tif with ie6 and some random 3px it was putting in between 2 divs.. with some suggestions it's been solved by putting a -3px margin on top (by the way you can view this live he http://www.redrabbitproductions.co.uk/test/default.html ) unfortunately this mucked everything up for all the other browsers that were reading the code correctly. i know there is a way that i can get these browsers to ignore that -3 margin, but how? Greetings! I'm trying to put sheet music into my webpage. However, whenever I add the notes via notepad, the outcome always looks like a complete mess. Example: Take a look at the sheet music on this page: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/..._album_tab.htm How can I copy and paste this and keep an organized format when plugging it into my my website. ty http://testingbar.atspace.com/index-test.htm When clicking within the yellow highlighted parts of the calendar, a tooltip pop ups to the right. But I also want a smaller tooltip that appears when you mouseover the yellow areas in the calendar. That tooltip will only include the title (bold uppermost row) from the part when you click on the event. That tooltip should have 1px border width, 4px padding and the same green background color as the more detailed tooltip. Can someone help me with this? I have a tooltip script for the product pages on my website. Here's an example (put your mouse over the 2 small pictures near the bottom of the page): http://www.ivoog.com/scooters/milan The problem is, as you can see, the tooltip thats shows ups blinks rapidly when your mouse is over the tooltip (it should display under or over, but sometimes the mouse goes over it). I know I should have found this before, and am now paying for it. How can I stop the tooltips from blinking when your mouse is over the pictures and the tooltips? Please help! Here's the CSS: http://www.pics.ivoog.com/page/tooltip.css Here's the javascript: http://www.pics.ivoog.com/page/htmltooltip.js What can I change? Thanks so much! |
