HTML - Html Dropdown Question
I am trying to build a simple, compliant HTML dropdown menu that allows users to click a "go" button which will act as a link to a new page. In my site a user rolls down to the correct state and then hits the go button. This sends the user to a web page for that state.
Maybe what I'm trying to do is so easy that nobody ever thought to explain it. But I can't find an answer anywhere. Here is a basic version of my code. Thanks in advance for any help!!!!! Thank you I have created a drop down selection list using PHP that will allow users to create the elements of the selection list and organize them them under user defined catagories, by typing the names of the catagory and entry into fields and clicking a button to add them to the list. By clicking on the entries on the list the user will be able to cause user defined actions to be performed. Just as an example, the user could create the following drop down selection list: Car manufacturers Ford Mercedes Honda Motorcycle manufacturers Harley Davidson Suzuki Honda The problem comes when I try to allow the user to delete an entry by clicking on it and then clicking a delete button.] As you can see from the example above, the word "Honda" appears under two optgroup catagories. If the user clicks on the second one, there is currently no way for the PHP script to distinguish which "Honda" entry they mean. In fact the script would go through the list and delete the fist one it comes across, which is the wrong one. How can I send the value of the optgroup that an entry is listed under along with the entry itself, so that they script can identify which entry the user is clicking on? I tried some tags in the optgroups but they don't seem to get sent to the server. I have a drop down box of a fixed width. That drop down box needs to contain some values that are longer than the desired width. I'm happy for those values to be truncated, but I would like to display the full text in a tooltip (one that I could format to be a multi-lined one) as the option is hovered over (not after you select an option). Does anyone know if there's an event that's generated when scrolling through the options of a drop down box? Hello all, I have created a dropdown list in a form using the <select> tag. My question is, is there any way to have that dropdown list display a different <option> as the default option when the page loads? The default option right now is always whatever option is the first one in my code. EX. <select> <option value="1">1</option> //by default this first option shows up on page load <option value="2">2</option> <option value="3">3</option> //can I have this option show up instead by default? </select> Thanks in advance. On page1 i have a dropdown list with products in it and on the home page i have a list of "popular products" (which are included in the dropdown list). I am trying to make it so that when a customer clicks one of the "popular products" from the homepage, it links them to page1 and automatically selects the product from the dropdown. The name of the dropdown menu is "products" so i tried using the link "page1.html#products#product1" but this just links to page one and nothing else. Yet if the link is "page1.html#products" then it links to page1 and highlights the products dropdown menu - but does not select anything. Any one has an idea how to get the css menu on top of the dropdown list? Thanks in advance All, I'm having some serious issues using a tag to a website for one of my clients. I'm using the Code: <sarcasm></sarcasm> tag in some of my code, but it does not appear to be displaying properly in certain web browsers. Firefox and Opera seem to work OK, but IE and Safari ignore the tag completely. Hello, I run a videogame server along with a website for content management. Right now im trying to find a way to display a page with a box inside it that transitions pdf files located in a file on the server. The file would follow as so http://www.voidcraft.net/other/rand/...3681823623.pdf It would also have 4 buttons at the bottom one with a arrow pointing right that would transition to the next. one the the left which would make it go back to the one before. There would also be a approve and decline. The approve would email the email on the pdf or have a box pop up that asks for the email and then send the pdf to a approved folder. The decline would do the same except send a different email and send to a different folder. I have no idea what so ever how to do this. Here i threw in the tag style = "color:red;" into my dynamic print code in my jsp file. I'm trying to get just these links to change color when clicked. Is there a way to use vlink? I'm new to html programing and have what will more than likely be seen as a couple of dumb questions but here goes. What do I have to do to eliminate the need to include .html on links to new pages. What I am finding is that http://mydomain/list.html for example will not work if I type http://mydomain/list Also the links to html pages that I create will only work if I use lower case letters. What do I have to do to make this work with either upper or lower case. Thanks a bunch for any help you can supply. Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to do this, i'm thinking may with <span> or something but not sure. With a link tag like this <a href="home.html" target="frame"> I can open another web page into an iframe but what I want to do is also change some text that's not in the frame. It's kinda like a title for the frame that will be above it. I have played around with giving a <span id="test"> tag an id and trying to update it through the link <a href="home.html" target="frame" test="Title"> but nothing I have tried will work. In short i'm trying to change text on my website when someone clicks a link. Anyone know how I would go about this? Many thanks in advance. |
