I am making a website with videos on, I can put the videos on the site but i would like to know how I can make a box which displays an image of the video and a discription next to it explaining what it is about. I would like there to be a button either side of the box so it you click the left/right button it takes you to the next minipage withought leaving the webpage you are on. I have seen it done before in html. Would anyone know how I could achieve this? Thanks Coolcam262 First let me apologize if this post has been made and/or belongs in another area but I'm not too sure even sure how to ask this. My humble site is set up like such using HTML and CSS: As of right now I have it such that when a navigation link is clicked it loads a whole new page. How can I do this such that only the "main text" area (which sits inside a table) is loaded? I hope that makes sense! I am failry new to html and I need some help. I have a link on a page. When it is clicked I want another page (which is basically made up of a small 2X3 table) to appear on the same page as the link. I am trying to do this without using frames as they are becoming depriciated. Hi. My latest project is a website that I plan to update via a vBulletin "back end" I wanted to do this via RSS feeds from the forums. What I am trying to do is have it so I can put ONLY the data from a single forum post inside a HTML page, that will then update as I update the forum post. I have started reading up a little and found that vBulletin offers the following methods: -XML -RSS -RSS1 -RSS2 All of them methods appear to pull data that I do not need/want (posted by, date, time, link to the post). I literally JUST want the data from inside the post to be inserted in to the HTML page. Besides that, I am unsure of how to add the actual data to the web page. Looking for a simple (if possible) guide on how to do this. I will be formatting the data via. .CSS Could anyone point me in the right direction? thx. What is a simple way to bring up a webpage inside of a table cell. I want another website page to come up inside of the cell with scroll bars so the user can view that page while never actually leaving the home page, it would just be embeded into one of the cells. -Aaron If you want to include a template file how do you do that inside a html page? I want to include a footer.dwt file inside my html file...... I want to implement the footer.dwt file for all the pages of website....so i just want to call the footer.dwt file below my html page...... Help? [EDITED 2007/11/22 x1] Okay, I have read the previous post on this topic, and the solution to use an IFRAME... but what about those who use FireFox (and other Mozilla-style) WWWeb browser? Is it possible to get a web page (hyperlink/URL) to load +inside+ a table cell ?? Basically the scenario I have dreamt up is creating a table that will have, say, three columns: item_image0 ...|... item_name0 ...|... item0_LIVE_CONTENT item_image1 ...|... item_name1 ...|... item1_LIVE_CONTENT item_image2 ...|... item_name2 ...|... item2_LIVE_CONTENT "item_LIVE_CONTENT" will be nothing more than a few lines of text which will reveal the item's current 'value', but it *pulls* this information in via a hyperlink/URL. I have no other way to access this information than by using a webpage (I just happen to know the actual URLs for the individual items)... and I am attempting to build a one-page ''Quick List'' of items and their current associated 'values' at the time the webpage is generated. If this is possible, without using iFRAMES, PHP, external .JS files, or other WWWeb Browser-specific features, I am all eyes and ears... oh, and FINGERS! *smile* Everything (coding-wise) has to be included in 'same' HTML file as the 'table', that *fetches*/*calls* the hyperlinked data. Javascript welcome! THANK YOU, in advance, for all helpful replies! P.S. I found the following, but the 'file' I am using does NOT have an .EXTenSion (other than .HTML) that can be seen: <?php include("http://www.testsite.com/?name=username&page=itemlog");?> That looks simple enough, but the '' <?php '' part... does the PHP refer to the file's .EXTension that the code itself is contain within...? If so, then obviously that is why this code is NOT working for me. :/ THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP GUYS I SOLVED THE PROBLEM THANKS TO YOU! Hello guys: I'm building my first website for a company, it is a Real State company. I narrowed it down a bit; it seems as if its only letting me to post a few paragraphs until it does it, meaning i can remove the animation and some paragraphs, and it looks the way i want it, but when I add the paragraphs back even without the slideshow the problem persists. Hi, I am trying to set up a webpage where the only way someone can access it is if they came from my facebook page. What is the easiest way to do this? thanks in advance. I am a website designer . don't know much about the programing. anyone can guide me. I can connect any admin in my simple html website. i want to add/edit image/content. if possible than please tell me how can i do this. Thanks Neeraj Sharma neeraj10786@rediff.com Hello, I'm a windows app programmer, but don't know too much about HTML. I use Frontpage to maintain my web site. I need to check the referring page, and if it equals what I want, then I need to redirect to another page. OK, to explain further, I've had a web site for years. Lets call it www.p.com. Yesterday, I registered two new domain names, we'll call them www.a.com and www.b.com. I had my web host simply make them pointers directly to www.p.com. So, when users type in www.a.com or www.b.com, they are automatically taken to www.p.com. This is OK...but, it is causing some issues. What I'd like to do is, when the page (www.p.com) is loaded, I want the page to check the page the user came from, such as www.a.com. If it was www.a.com or www.b.com, then I want to re-load www.p.com, so that the page is refreshed so that it actually was www.p.com and not a re-direct from www.a.com. Can I do this? and how can this be done? Many thanks in advance! domls Hello I'm trying to create a page, when its someone's first time opening the web site they get asked if they are under 18 or not and if they are over 18 and enter the site, and the next time they come to the site, it would by pass the age page. Is there anything that I can read that would help me create it? Please give me any suggestion that you have. Thank You Hi Guys, I have a simple question, I havent done any web/html stuff for a long time, ive totally forgotton how to do everything. At the moment im working on a small project, I was thinking of running it off a database but I think its way to complicated even for that as all I need is a single html page that populates with information that I have when certain inormation is entered. Basically its a contact list, name, number, ID, landline fax number etc. I have a list of about 400 names which I want to be searched by a ID and state, so for example, theres 2 data entry boxes, one is a drop down box of states and the next is a text entry field where you enter the ID (3 digits) once selected, it populates another text field with the information. I want all the info to remain on a single page, or maybe the info on another page and displayed on the main page when the propriate ID number is entered. Id prefer it this way as I can easily edit the page with text. I dont think a database is appropriate, as I need to run this locally. Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to get this done? Id appreciate any help. Thanks alot Ok, This might be a bit confusing but ill try my best. On my main website homepage i have a splash image which when clicked redirects to the main website, also in another folder i have a phpbb3 Forum. Below the image on my homepage i have a login box for the forum as well. What i would like to do is to hide that login box unless a keyword is entered before hand, and make the domain.com/forum URL inaccessible unless you login through this route. basically hiding the forum completely so people dont actually know its there. I could do this through .htaccess however i was hoping there was a "cleaner" way to do this. Many Thanks Rob |
