HTML - Background Image Problem With Html
Hey guys, please forgive me if this has already been posted but im at a total loss
I'm having major issues with getting a background to fit properly around my html page. If this cannot be corrected is there a code i can add to it to implement a border around the actual web page in full, as if to say i could remove the background image, have it has standard white but use a code to implement a border that would look fine on all computers. Why is this happening? I used the following code in Firefox-3.0.4 (Full Screen mode) . I have two vertical frames (Video and messenger). In the video frame VLC playing on top of the video frame (Not embedded into HTML). The Video is playing correctly, except sometimes only "a black color background" comig, not always (Within the video frame, vertically left-half/right-half/Full of the frame is black color background) is appearing between VLC-video and Frame. Since I have positioned the video (top:8px; left:57px), I can noticed when above taken place. Actually, in my application VLC is independent of Firefox/HTML.l So I want to avoid the black-color background. I dont want the black color background. Actually, this is happening when skin changes, the code attached is currently having skin_10 (for resolution 1024x768). Similarly changing skin_1 for the same resolution, but cols, and rows only changing. ie. frame size is changing for different skins. I have been working all day trying to fix this issue. When I take out the background-image from "content" div i dont have this problem but I need my content background-image to stay where it currently is. Is it possible to put a smaller background image on top (like in layers) of my old background image? I have a background image, but I want to put a smaller image on top of that one, but for it to be treated also as background image. This image is a black vertical rectangle, but is faded on the edges to give a transparency, so its a .png. So ultimately what I am trying to do is put this black rectanlge on top of my original background image and with the transparency on the edges of this image, be able to see my original background image. How can I do so? Also what I was thinking was that this faded background would be scaled to fit different screen sizes, so do "width: 75%"? Just so that it ALWAYS stays at 75% no matter what screen size it is viewed on. Is this the right approach towards getting this result? Hi, i've been trying to solve a problem for the last couple of hours and it is driving me mad, I can't find any help anywhere on the web so thought I would give this a whirl! After placing an image map on my page, I added another image below it, but there is a tiny black vertical gap (black being the bg color) between them. I have tried changing the location of the <br> tag in the script, have tried aligning and pretty much everything else obvious and I have no idea how to make them touch each other. If someone can just point me in the right direction, or better yet implement the/a code that will keep the banner where i want it plus having the image maps, i would be over the moon as this little thing is really getting on my nerves !haah! Oh yes, also... Instead of imape mapping I tried to play a sneaky little trick by laying a transparent clickable div layer over the buttons in the image but they change position in every browser and different screen resolutions so no good! I have put together a basic HTML mailer that seems to work on all email clients, Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook, Mac Mail, iPhone Mail but only thing is its not showing up correctly on hotmail as it is repeating the image at the bottom of the mailer. I can view the result perfectly in explorer. Now I mailed it to my own mailbox (via explorer) and in outlook (and also in hotmail) the swap image effect doesn't appear.(the second photo is not shown) Is there a possibility to see this in my mailbox? This is what I want for the personal website I'm making: a fixed image as the background that covers the entire screen regardless of what screen resolution a user's computer has - this much I've managed with CSS...I think (like this right? http://www.geocities.com/serenamonster/index.htm ) clickable regions on this background image to use for navigation to various parts of the site. Or in other words, the background image as an image map. - this I'm having trouble with, because you have to designate the picture as a set # of pixels in dimension to make an image map right? and if I do that to my background image, then it may display too big or too small depending on the person's screen resolution right? So does anyone know how I can have clickable regions on my fixed background image without the image being too big for low resolutions or too small for high resolutions? I'm creating a website from scratch, and my problem is that the background image that I have set, is not appearing UNDER my text or other images (like my page content) The background image is appearing above my content, or under my content. I have tried placing the html code for the background under body, head, and also I have attempted to correct it using padding-top (etc) and also margin. Again I also tried <div-id> and other things like that.... but I'm not sure on what else to try... I've done everything that I know. This is driving me nuts! I'm creating a simple HTML website for someone. I'm using Pagebreeze HTML editor. When I'm in Pagebreeze and using the 'preview' option etc, my background image appears without a problem. But when I upload the .htm file to the FTP server, and try to go to the URL, the background doesn't appear.
