HTML - Flash Doesn't Display In Ie
Hi there,
I was wondering if someone could provide some help. I have designed/built a website, and for some reason - the "Flash" content doesn't always display in Internet Explorer 7+ Some pages do display the Flash, some pages dont. The website is www.shiftingsandsarabians.com.au Chrome, Safari & firefox all display correctly. It just seems to be Internet Explorer. The "Flash" content is displayed at the top on each page. I'd like it to says something along the lines of: "Unfortunately the Apple iPad does not support the Flash player because their business interests do not want it taking away from their App revenue. I know the files exist as there is no 'X' where the image is supposed to be but I can't see them. If I change to using a JPG then the images appear. Does the <img> tag support PNG images? Is there some other reason why the images display blank? Hei! I'm trying to create a table with three columns, first and last with one row each and middle with two rows. There's pictures in left, right and in the middle bottom cell. It works like I want it to do in Firefox, looks ugly in Konqueror and not displayed in Internet Explorer 6. Where's the problem? Thanks in advance! It displays normal in all browsers except an older version of IE (I think 6.0). I have read a bunch and have learned about float left and left margin problems with older IE versions. Nothing has helped so far. To make a long story short if you view http://whatwowart.com the right column where you sign up for newsletter etc. gets put under the whole page in older IE (I think 6.0). I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. The lists under "Historic District" and "Take Action" are fine, but the two items under "Blog" don't show up in FF or SM. The "Blog" links are external. Would that matter to FF and SM? The WC3 turned up the likely error, but when I added and/or removed a ul and/or li tag, I got strange results and was unable to fix the problem. If someone can explain what I should do and why I'd appreciate it. Can anyone help me to make sure the flash displays right? what happens is the player loader displays at the top instead of the center and the control buttons are present before it loads. then after the loader fails it shows a "cannot connect" error. so I think the flash object is resizing inside its self. can anyone help me clean up this script so it will display correctly in iPhone safari (with flash enabled)? website is he smalldotdesign.zxq.net/iSwim.html that is where the HTML file is located that I am trying to get corrected. thanks in advance. i have a feeling this is going to be a tough fix. Hope someone can help me.. Btw, if this is posted the wrong place im very sorry but i could'nt find anything about javascript. Hey, Im making a site for a client and we've hit a dead end one one thing i particular The whole site we've made is HTML and Images only. The only flash element is the Navigation bar at the top. With out making 2 dedicated flash/non flash sites, how do we make it so that if flash is not detected on the viewers computer then the flash navigation will not show, but instead show a java script rollover nav bar? So its detected to be there but some how doesnt pick up the content of the (swf.). And I have to be honest I really don't know much about html at all.... In IE7, 6, and 5 and only in IE7, 6, and 5 my flash navigation menu jumps around a little bit from page to page (no more than half of an inch or so per page, minor, but irritating). Probably an easy fix, but how? Do I need to wrap in a div first or should I just apply the rule to the td with an ID? And, should I use absolute positioning, relative, or neither? And I know I know navigation menu not good - I am working on text links for the bottom. In Firefox and Safari, the window is extended down a few pixels to allow for the complete video, which I think is fine. In Explorer, however, it simply cuts the video off. I really like what I have as the website so far, but I've found that it runs slow on many computers, so I was wondering if there was any way of keeping what I have(such as design etc.) but converting it to html somehow. I don't know much about web design, so any help would be greatly appreciated. (and I don't mind changing my host if it's necessary, I just want a way to be able to keep what I've worked at without having to begin from scratch.) Quick question, what kind of html5 coding would be needed to achieve this seemingly easy effect. Does someone know a tut i can start off with? Been googling but cant seem to land on the right one.
