Hello all, I am using Dreamweaver to create my site, and I'm using the two column fixed left sidebar header and footer template. Anyway, I need to have two separate columns of text in the main content portion, and I'm not sure how to go about it. Is using a table somehow the easiest way to go about it? Help in either code format or in the design format would be helpful. ~~Idaho Parkour hey guys - I was trying to add a little more kick to my website today and making the text appear in little windows I guess you would say - (I know the site is not complete and links are intentionally broken) if you look on the right of the page you will notice I added 2 table cells to round off the white - now the problem I can not figure out how to bring the white area over to the rounded edges whether I need to make the cell wider or if I need to add another cell - any help is appreciated. source: Http://www.medicalpracticeexams.com/index.asp Thanks I am wondering if it is possible to create an INDEX.HTML to redirect to another website? Can someone help me. Regards, Thiyaghu CK I know CSS is useful for many many things. But I am trying to optimize my website as i'm designing, that way I don't have a giant project once i'm done. Here is my question: What would have a faster load time: Code: <html> <head> <LINK REL=StyleSheet HREF="style.css" TYPE="text/css" MEDIA=screen> <title></title> </head> <body> <div id=bold>Hello!</div> </body> </html> or: Code: <html> <head> <title></title> </head> <body> <b>Hello!</b> </body> </html> Me and a buddy of mine currently are starting a company; Bad Apple Productions. We intend on bringing our dreams to the world. To give the world decent games for free.. of course with an item mall. He is the only game coder, and I am the only website dev.. an amatuer at that. Take a look at my site. Just in the making. www.ringgoldhs.com I want my navigation bar to be horizantal. It is made of individual "image links" Quick help please? Hi there I got a little problem with my website http://www.gone-surfing.com ; the thing is that I would like to have the waveforecast on the right side of the site, where there is currently only an empty black space. And I am simply wondering how this can be done? In a way which enables the waveforecast to progress downwards out there, without pushing the other tables / content downwards. Hope some clever minds can help me out here. Any suggestions? PS! I would like to keep the design like this, it would be a bit too much work changing the whole design due to my lack of webdesign skills. The source code is available here @ gone-surfing.com/index.html A big thanks in advance for any help or suggestions. All the best, Alex All, Sorry if this seems too stupid. This is my first question to the forum. If I use Paypal to create a BuyNow button, I paste the html code into my webpage. When I preview the webpage the link is just dead. Is this normal? How do I know the link works? Any suggestions? I'm in charge of doing the coding for a site that's been designed by a graphic designer with no knowledge of code. I like his designs, and the client wants me to make the site look exactly like them. They're .psd files representing each page. He sent me almost all of the images, but not the background and not certain key decorations (the guitar pics). I told him I needed the background, but his hard drive died (without being backed up) before he could send it to me. He doesn't seem to remember what font he used either. In light of all that, and the fact that the client wanted to get a basic version of the site up asap, I just converted the PSD's to JPEG's, uploaded them as whole pages, and used div's and image maps to add links and additional content. But that is obviously not a long-term solution. In fact, it's causing browser compatibility issues right now. And it's not accessible . . . etc. So I need to replicate these page design images using HTML or XHTML, and CSS. I can probably find a similar background and font to work with, but I just don't know where to begin. I haven't worked with CSS in years, but it looks like I'd probably need to use it. I'm not asking anyone to do my job for me. I'm just wondering how you would approach this task. Does anyone have time to look at the images and point me in the right direction? Here's the embarrassingly incomplete site: http://www.musicisrevolution.com The navigation works with Safari and Firefox. I'm also attaching one of the images so that it'll be clear what I'm talking about. Hello all, I noticed there are more than a handful of different scripting languages, markup languages, and many different methods to building a modern day website. If im starting from scratch and I would like to build a professional website such as yahoo (homepage), craigslist, e-commerce, etc... A website that allows users to create their own accounts and such, what should I need to know? Is learning HTML + CSS really a good starting point? Is HTML, CSS, CGI + Perl sufficient to having the tools needed to create a good website? Realisticly, do professional web-designers really sit down and write code to create a website or do they use some fancy third-party application that basically does all the work for them? I have always wondered about these questions any help will be greatly appreciated. Hi guys In an effort to have a div with a semi transparent background, I have made two divs - one with the transparency, and another to place over the top for my content. I can't get my overlay div to position correctly - it seems that ie and FF start off placing the div from different positions. The page is at www.popbeatblues.com.au/rw/artist_1.php Also, making the overlay have an absolute position has chnaged the appearance of it's content divs too. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Cheers Shaun Ok I need to take things like this forum: http://lmiinc.com/forum/ http://lmiinc.com/forum/calendar.php And make it active on the new site I'm building for LMI. So what files exactly do I need to copy to the new directory & then reference as a link in my navigation bar in all of my .html files? |
