HTML - Linking To Iframe Src
I'll do my best to explain this.
I have an iframe and its source changes a lot. I want to have a link that will take you to the source of the iframe, whatever it may be at the time. This has been kicking at me for some time and I thought it was time to ask for help, it's probably something simple that I'm just not getting. Thanks in advance! Similar TutorialsCan't seem to find any info on this through Google, so I'm hoping you guys can help me out: What I want to do is have a link at the bottom of the main page which will load whatever html file that is currently in the iframe up by itself. So for example, if the photo page is loaded up in an iframe, you could click said link and it would load up the photo page HTML by itself. But if a video page was loaded up in the iframe, i could click the same link and it would load the video page HTML by itself. The page I'm working on is http://www.cdi-imaging.com/OnSession...PriceGude.html Loaded in my iframe is /OnSessionProofs/Daylily/PriceGude/11ozWhite.html How would I *link* that to the White Ceramic text on the left? Same thing for the rest, i.e. Ringer mug= /11ozRinger.html I want the page to load the small HTMLs in the Iframe (the blue rectangle) when the appropriate text is clicked. Thanks, Casey Dwayne Hello everyone, I am currently building a site that has a iframe in it. Unfortunately no matter what I try it is always linking to the sites 404 page. Here is the code I am using. Code: <iframe src="sulphurmountaingps.html" width="600" height="400" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" scrolling="no" frameborder="0"> <a href="sulphurmountaingps.html">Click here for the map</a> </iframe> Now I currently have the second page in the same folder as the HTML page it is being called from since it started in its own directory but eventually ended up here by trying to weed out what the problem could be. So I really cant see what I could be missing. Its a very simple iframe code calling a page that is in the same directory. Any help or suggestions would be great, Thank you Peter Hello all. I'm relatively new to HTML, but have so far managed to create an index page with a navigation bar and IFRAME to hold content (in seperate HTML files). Using "target=" and "<div id=" I can successfully navigate through the content being displayed in the IFRAME. However, I also want the functionality to use a URL (passing parameters) to open the index page and display the desired content in the IFRAME without having to navigate through the menu. To give an example, I write match previews for a rugby site and would like to provide a link on other sites that will take them straight to the index but display the match preview within the IFRAME immediately. I'm not asking anyone to write this for me, but would like some guidance as it's starting to frustrate me. Thanks in advance, Tony. Hi All... Was hoping for some help with an iFrame question. I'm a bit of a n00b with web design so please forgive me. I have: home.html - with an iframe containing products.html Withing products.html (in the iframe) I have a link which I want to link to a new page which also has a iframe. This I can do but I want the link to open the new page and a page within the new iframe of my choosing. I hope this makes sense to somebody... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Richard Hello all! My 1st post. I have an iframe embedded on my webpage of a .html manual and I would like to be able to have the manual open to certain anchors within it when a given page on my website is visited. Here is the iframe code I have that will open up the manual but then the visitor has to scroll to the topic covered: <iframe name="FRAME1" src="../r6manual/TTM Mixer.14.05.html" width="1100" height="600" frameborder="0" ></iframe> Here is the anchor code on the TTM Mixer.14.05.html that I would like to be showing when the page is visited. <div class="Subhead"><a name="468813">Dynamics section</a></div> Thank you so much for your time, Matt. Hi Guys, Just need a little help with my IFrame page. I have a basic layout page with the banner up the top, and my buttons running down the left hand side of the page. The rest of the page is an "IFRAME" to an external page. Basically the site im building is putting in a webcart wich has been outsourced. So you get all the cart stuff and you just have to build your site around it and embed it in a site. So anyway to my question, I need to link the buttons on the Index.html page to a page in the IFRAME page, then the user isnt reloading the same page with different main content just that iframe. Is there actually anyway of doing this? or am i just stuck creating different pages? Im also using dreamweaver 8 if this is any help. Thanks Now here is my problem. I'm not familiar with other laguages then html and a little bit of javascript and I wanted to make a site for me and my brothers photography company. I currently using dreamweaver and have figured out the way I want to make this site. I tried using ordinary frames, but I want the website to be aligned in the middle and I could make that happen. That is why I went into iframes and a regular table on the index page. My problem now is that I have several iFrames and I want a link from one to open in another. http://www.trans4mind.com/personal_d...e/iframes3.htm here is a link for this to happen, and the simple solution is to name the frame and then target the link. but I have tried that and when the link is from one iframe to another it won't work. If the link is on the index page and target the iframe then it works. Do you have any idea why this happens? I know it's possible since the link above does it. hi, i've a very simple html page, where i have an iframe. The problem is that i want to add some text below the iframe. however, my text keeps showing up on the right hand side of the iframe. i've looked at the tutorials discussing the tags available for iframe, but surprisingly, none seem to relevant to this. Code: <html> <body> <table border="0" cellspacing="10"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="left"> <td valign="top"> <iframe src="mySource.jsp" height="700" width="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="auto"></iframe> </td> </table> This should be displayed below the iframe but actually gets displayed on the right </body> </html> any help / guidance in this will be much appreciated. thanks in advance! I have 2 IFrames on a page. I am going to end up with a long list of shows to catch-up on. Is there a way I can embed an IFrame with the list, and when you click on a show, you it will change the Playing Show http://tiny.cc/catchup <---The page I am referring to. Below are two notepad docs. I want to add a link from one to the other. Whenever I add the <a href="..... "></a> nothing shows up when I view the webpage. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. Now however when my teacher tries to open my files, all she gets is that file that cant be found stuff. Do you think maybe the problem could be that my files are too complicated and that maybe i should put all my pages in one place and then all my other files in folders underneath those... please tell me your advice, with many thx Sam Greetings to all. I have been trying to sort this problem for a very long time. I have 2 frames on my web page, one is the contents. Can I link to a specific part of another frame? I don't think HTML allows this - or does it? Help please. I have setup a basic pop up on a company test page that we are working with and the pop up only includes a link to open a new window with info. What I'm looking for is the html code for the link (image src) to close the pop up window when it's clicked on. I know that you can open a window off clicking the X or close button for the browser. I have yet to see code for an "a href" link to close the window. I would really appreciate any help on finding out how to pull this off. Thank so much. Mathew Shade Searcy What HTML code do I need and how do I link a word from one part of a page to text on another part of the same page? Is there a way to select a jpg or html file and find out if it is linked to something and if so, what is it linked to? Hey having read the advice on this site I know have several pages mocked up in photoshop and have sliced and coded them as well. How do I link pages though so that the page switches?? Also I'd like the background and certain parts to stay constant rather than reloading when a new section is loaded. Any helpful suggestions would be brilliant Thanks! When you have a forum on a website how do you have it open up in the same window rather than it opening up a new browser when you click on the link? Open Mozilla Firefox and go to this site: http://www.mm-theory.com Scroll down a bit until you see a table titled "Download PDFs" on the left-hand side. Click any one of them. Does anything happen, or do you get what I get: a blank window? Explorer doesn't seem to have this problem. I click on any of the links, I get the option to either open the PDF file in the browser or download it. If I choose to open in the browser, it does just that. Why would it not do the same in Firefox? The code for the links are as follows: Code: ... <tr><td class="PDFs"><a class="PDFs" href="../PDFs/Website Introduction.pdf">Website Introduction</a></td></tr> <tr><td class="PDFs"><a class="PDFs" href="../PDFs/Preliminary Concepts.pdf">Preliminary Concepts</a></td></tr> ... Thanks for any forthcoming help. |
